"The walker counts ten, before you will bother me with your counts of destroying the weak, but many. Isaiah (@Casavay )." Elijah did not really enjoy motivating his brother's games. But then again, he knew that his brother worked best when faced with a challenge which is why he made those cocky remarks about how sloppy the Greenskins fight. They might be not a test of raw strength. But a test of Endurance. At least he was one who perhaps recognized that fighting these Orks was far better to compare with climbing a mountain, than winning a sprint. But then again. What did he truly know about these beasts besides the tactical analysis given by their Sergeant?

"I will take it down for you, Sire." The older Job told the Sergeant as his order was given and went a few long steps forward, trying to get the best raised position within the cover, he could with a good and free aim upon the walker. He felt confident that as long as the Orks were not in melee, he could take as many clean shots as possible. And he would not waste that little time he had and readied his Missile Launcher. He took a deep breath and held it while taking aim on the warmachine with the angry buzz-noise. The trigger was squeezed steady and purposeful when he thought to have a perfect shot. A lightning prayer to the gods of war was sent as the missile left the barrel.

While Elijah had claimed and indeed looked to take aim at the ork walkers, Denatus instead opted to try and take care of a tight knot of the orks, they might be tough creatures, but his misiles would rip them to shreds.
Denatus also saw a difference from himself to most of the others, they talked alot, he just cared about getting his controlled destruction for now, orders and afermatives where for battle, not jostling and talking.
Denatus thought to himself as he moved up and lifted his missile launcher, taking a short aim before firering the frag missile.

A humor laced grin quickly became one of eager energy as eyes lit up like the finest of gems spotting a rabble of greenskins approaching at high speed. Their fleet of foot falls shook the very earth itself and those vibrations were a stimulating feeling to Davian whom felt those rattling vibrations in his gene-thickened bones. With orders coming in Emperor's Child reflected upon the apparent wisdom of turning an anti-infantry weapon upon an armored walker, for only a fool did not think. A fool also disobeyed his superiors in these situations and Davian would not be caught blemishing what he intended to be a sterling and legendary service record so soon into his indoctrination within the legion.

"FOR FULGRIM! LET IT RIP!" Heavy bolter bucked back into his hands with a satisfying and familiar kick and legionnaire allowed it to push his upper body back having already positioned himself in such a way that this natural movement would put him into a true braced stance, letting sterile familiarity with the weapon nudge him into that perfect spot as he trained his storm of brass toward the Deff Dread's armaments aiming to shred through its joints and hopefully disarm it while waiting for his fellow Devastators to deal with its heavier plates. "look at them they already try to fire upon us! Most their weapons don't even have the reach, by Terra I think I saw a spit ball in there somewhere! "

Arnock did little in the way of talking. Instead he took aim on the horde with his bolter pistol and fired upon them. All the while he was itching to activate his jump pack he held back to keep their current advantage of cover. He knew soon enough his Chainswords would have their chance to taste blood.

"Hah, brother, have the walker count a hundred and it shan't matter!", boasts the Emperor's Child over vox. Quick as his unnatural speed granted by being a warrior of the Astartes allowed, he popped out of cover to fire singular, aimed shots at these utterly vulgar alien creatures.

Isaiah did feel the calling forward, to melee, but he really did not want his armour sullied by greenskin entrails; unless the sergeant ordered, he would remain at bolter range, beginning to move sidewards in an effort to flank as their leader had ordered. "For Fulgrim!", he said, the enthusiasm not dampened by the lack of screaming.

Theo as a Fresh Clip was slammed into his bolter he took aim at the green skin horde Prioritizing Green skins that might get to close to there Devastators first, Prioritizing his heavy weapon brothers first, They would be needed to help them thin the horde quickly.

If the green skins got in close he knew he and his assault brothers and other Tactical would be needed to get into melee. Though they would be ready Tactical as is there name were Perfectly Flexible for at range or up close. He took aim with his bolter and fired aiming for the heads and hearts of the green skins to take them down even quicker. "1...2...3.. 1..2..3.." he counted out loud the burst from his bolters and keeping a track of when he would need to reload.

At the same time, the entire line opened fire. The perfect discipline of the Emperor's Children and their human allies showing right on the start as their combined fire cut the Greenskins apart. So powerful was their opening salvo that the Orks simply died in droves and were thrown into disarray as they tried to cross the garden, their numbers reduced and were forced to fight in a smaller gangs rather than huge tide.

Elijah's missile streaked across the battlefield and hit the Deff Dread dead in center, blowing pieces of his armor and managing to take out one rokkit launcha with the ensuing explosion. The pilot inside of the can raged but before he was able to push onward, a salvo of heavy bolts struck the plating, Davian managing to exploit the wound brought by his comrade and further damage the walker which now was smoking from multiple broken systems that made it move much slower and it was clear it won't make it to the defensive lines any time soon.

Denatus also rose from his cover and the last Devastator opened fire, however his aim was way off and the missile streaked across the heads of the Orks he was aiming at, it exploding somewhere behind and destroying parts of garden's rear wall, which toppled and managed to kill couple of Orks that just entered the place.

Isaiah was also there, adding his fire to the mix however it would seem that he would need to work more if he was to achieve perfect aim since his bolts found purchase in a number of Greenskins however only one of them fell on the ground with his skull open, the rest simply shrugged the blow and pushed through the carnage. Theo on the other hand was there to provide more support to the 6th squad and four Ork Boys were killed by his firing before he had to duck back to reload.

However then the Orks reached the range and fired back at the Emperor's Chldren, their Lootas creating a wall of fire that was impossible to withstand out on open and few Space Marines died or were wounded. 6th squad went almost without injuries if not for Arnock, who stood out just a second longer in order to snipe couple of Orks with his pistol and a lucky shot hit him in the shoulder, throwing him on the ground behind the barricades.

Invigorated by the opening, Greenskins pushed on without fear, led by a gang of monstrous Nobs hefting huge cleavers and something that passed for heavy armor which allowed most of them to survive the incoming fire. They continued with the advance and a great number of Orks was about to reach the lines when the Emperor's Children counterattacked - the Rhinos finally began firing, storm bolters perfect for this kind of warfare and they cut the first line of the incoming aliens with ease, blunting their initial attack.

It was then that Sergeant Callus stood up and pointed his power sword at the enemy. "CHAINSWORDS!" he ordered and in a single "woosh" the Emperor's Children took out their weapons. "Crescent formation. Devastators hit their rear, rest of us shall break their back. For Fulgrim and the Emperor! Kill them all!"

Members of the other squads also obeyed the order and followed Callus as he charged the ten meters separating the barricades from the first alive Ork. First one to fall to his strike was a Nob who ate a plasma shot to its big face, melting his brain. The second Boy was killed with a precise strike of the power sword that cut both of its arms and torso in three precise blows. Then the rest of the Emperor's Children entered the fray and battle began in its earnest.


OOC Friendly forces: 37 Marines, 90 Human soldiers, 5 Rhinos with mounted storm bolters;

Enemy forces: 120 Ork Boys (Horde), 17 Ork Nobs (Veterans), 15 Ork Lootas with heavy weapons (Veterans), 1 Deff Dread with 2 buzzsaws & 2 rokkit launchas (mini-boss).

An order for counter-charge had been passed. Because of the nature of the shock attack, all of you who go into melee can kill 2-3 Orks as you see fit + you have +1 roll on your next action. Those in cover still have -3 to be hit but depending on the result of the counter-charge, you might get overwhelmed with my next post. Deff Dread is in the middle of the Ork lines and he still needs to reach the melee.

Hadrian had finally engaged at Callus' second order, the hierarchal command of the Emperor's Children meaning that he wouldn't really start firing without the approval of a higher-up. Triggering his jump-pack for a quick burst up the Assault Marine took aim at two orks and opened fire, long hours in the shooting range allowing him to score headshots that downed both orks. As he descended, angled to hit the 'front' of the ork 'line', Hadrian smoothly holstered a pistol and drew his chainsword, speaking for the first time as he flattened an ork upon landing.
"For the Emperor and the Phoenician!"
Despite the volume of his cry his native accent could still be heard, an accent that in ancient times could be classed as Scottish. It was a shame that such a fact though would be lost on the orks he was dueling with.

It seemed that his own call to carnage was answered by Callus. Beneath his helmet, Isaiah smirked. Pulling out his trusty chainblade, he charged, the full weight of a Space Marine put into motion by his own superhuman strength, striking at his foes with fury. After all, red was quite the beautiful colour as well.

Elijah reserved his voice for a later, more ideal point of time. The fact that even his younger brother shut up, was more than prove that this situation is intense. It was going to be a true battle, no matter how much of brutes these Orks were told to be. Perhaps it may be even quick over, who knows. But it would demand tolls on both ends, so much was certain. After all, it was both sides who lived only for war and had no fear of death. Rivers of blood would stream today. The Devastator moved only a few steps backwards, letting the others with their chainswords protect him before a Krak Missile was pushed into the tube and he took aim at the Walker once more. Attempting to hit the hole he already shot to destroy it once and for all. It was no threat just yet, but would it come into melee? Surely Isaiah would be the fool to charge at it first, and he would prevent potential death of his twin.
