It made Oliver feel a bit more at ease now that Tony had evidently calmed down if not gone beyond that but Oliver didn't know what to think of it and just kept it out of mind, sure Tony might look done now but if someone even said his daughter's name he'd be shot with enough energy to dig his way to the surface or have enough strength to rip a man in half. Had to admire his dedication, even if he was an arse. Oliver started to feel a bit bad about hiding now, obviously the Overseer wasn't in any danger and that was the reason he skulked after her, to ensure if an enemy was there she wouldn't be alone but now Tony is there so Oliver's reason for coming was now over, he could return to the group that was going to the armoury. Or he could reveal himself to Tony and the Overseer, Oliver felt he could make it back to the others but every time he thought about it he'd see what he saw on the cameras and felt if those who were together had that happen to them what chance would Oliver stand by himself. With it worked over in his head a few times Oliver decided to reveal himself to the Overseer and Tony. Slowly entering into the Radio Room then surveying Tony and the Overseer, Oliver spoke up. "What did the Radio ever do to you." With a chuckle, Oliver began pacing around the Radio Room. Before anyone could answer Oliver asked the thing that was troubling him since leaving the Overseer's Office. Oliver's face began a serious one with sadness creeping upon it as he spoke. "The Vault is dead, I know that now. I see that leaving the Vault is the best course of action for us."
@dx144 "What did that damn thing do? Kill the whole Vault. That's what it did..." he said, not entirely enjoying Oliver's attitude but was too damn exhausted to do anything about it. He instead just decided on sticking with mumbling to himself. He was the only person left that'd listen to his own ramblings. "Karl...god dammit Karl...you weren't supposed to die on me like that...you were a month younger for god sakes...fuck..." Tony ran his fingers through his hair and just shook his head. The weight of everything that's happened hitting him all at once was excruciating to bare. He rubbed his eyes with the palm of his hand. He felt so tired. He couldn't take much more today. He just wanted to see his daughter again. She was the only one he had left. "Bastards, what the hell does the outside do to people...if sick fucks like that are free to do what they want...what the hell is out there for us. Why...why! How would anyone know what was outside...that monsters like those roamed out there. What the hell is wrong with people...what the hell is going on out there...what the hell else can be out there?!?" "I'm not liking our chances out there, if these sort of people-that these mother fuckers, these barbarians-are allowed to roam free."
"I never believed the talk that radio messes with your head but now I know. Good thing you smashed it before it messed with our heads." Oliver joked as he carried on pacing around. "There was a big war that happened about two hundred years ago. Could be radiation, fuck knows, ask a scientist. Perhaps they just can answer that. I say we kill them all here which appears to already be done and then we kill them up there and once we've killed them all we can do something different." Oliver was more just thinking aloud for a while. Maybe the surface would be much worse than what it is within the Vault at the moment and no doubt it is but Oliver couldn't willingly stay down here any more. Not with the fact he knew every place he'd look he'd see a the location where a fellow Vault Dweller had been skinned, decapitated, eviscerated, shot, stabbed and just left for dead. "I really don't know Tony. Perhaps this is just a few psychos but I have a feeling it isn't. I just can't stay here any more. If you guys want to stay here you can but I ain't staying here any more. I'm going to go to the Armoury get some gear and head off, you're free to join me up there but I don't really have any idea what I'm going to do up there apart from hunt down the place where these Raiders came from. But out of respect for the Vault, Overseer what do you believe should be done?" Oliver took a serious tone for a change compared to his usual casual joking self.
@dx144 "I just..." he started to say before slowly sighing and looking down at the floor, "I just want my daughter to be safe...I can't lose her too...I wouldn't be able to go on if I did...life would just...not be worth living without her..." He clenched his wrench and placed it back in a pocket as he worked himself back into his feet. "Don't try asking them for a location, just kill any of them you come across. Already tried beating some information out of one them, got a knife in my side for my troubles. But, hey. I have this new knife now. So jokes on him...dumb motherfucker didn't stab anything important anyway so why do I care." He then clenched his side where the knife wound was clearly visible, still hurt like hell, now even more so without his anger to dull the pain. Rage was a hell of an anesthetic he found out. But now, he just felt tired and hurt. "But I will find them, every last one of those fuckers. And I'll kill them. I'll make them realize just who they fucked with. I'll show each and everyone of them the amount of mercy they showed our people. They'll pay in blood for what they've did." He looked away after his declaration of war, reality sinking into the situation at hand. What about Agnes. What about her. Was he going to throw his daughter in the front lines because of his vendetta? "I'm not leaving Agnes...not my Aggy. If she wants to stay here, then here I'll be here for her. I want her to be alright, in whatever happens to us. I don't care what we do, as long as I can make sure my she's okay."
"Whatever you think is best Tony, you have other commitments, I can understand that. Hell before I saw those screens with everyone dead on them I'd have fought tooth and claw to stay here but just now, well I can't not after seeing that in places where I'd walk again and look around like nothing happened. Most of these Raiders didn't seem to be that smart, I assumed there must have been one or two with some brains to get the Vault Door open but if that recording allowed them to open it then perhaps they are just as dumb as a bag of rocks. Especially since if it was me I'd go for the throat which when I find out where these Raiders have come from is what I'm going to do. I'm going to go for the throat and rip it open." Oliver actually found himself enjoying the conversation with Tony, seemed to be almost impossible considering every other time they'd talked it usually ended with blood boiling and weapons being raised. "As for Agnes she's a big girl now, I'm sure she's able to take care of herself. I'm sure that you've been preparing her for the last few years for when you were going to be taken. Then again the most we feared might happen is a few Mirelurks or Mole Rats might break in, nothing like what has happened. Even if you're not there the other Vault Dwellers would risk their lives for her just as they would for any other Vault Dweller. What we have no one up there will understand, they've all come together because they're better off in a group in there where as we've all grown up and lived together our whole lives, those aren't bonds that can be broken easily." Oliver never looked at Tony, he just kept pacing back and forth the radio room with his mind racing with the uncertain future he was stepping into.
Unaware of all the drama and not even yet aware of the full extent of the damage, Ruby nonetheless had a bad feeling. She gathered what she could, feeling nervous and not sure why - the obvious reasons, yes, but there was something more. Everything was changing. They wouldn't be able to honour the dead properly. They might have to leave the Vault. There were people outside, and these people wanted to kill and destroy everyone who wasn't them. It was too much for the cheerful nurse to take in, and she felt more than a bit helpless in the face of it. She found some comfort in packing up supplies, but when that was done she still felt terrible. She waited for Mr. Beagles to get his own supplies or experiments or whatever it was he wanted, then set off to find the others. They'd need food supplies if they did ... leave. And clothes. And anti-rad - well, anything. Ruby wanted to sit down and cry. Instead, she kept going, grimly pushing her wheelchair full of dufflebags and boxes and trying to keep focussed.
Caroline hauls the loot she was able to gather from the Security room. They managed to secure some protective vests and batons, but rest of the group would have to gather their from the... dead. Her thoughts return to all the dead Vault dwellers again, glooming her mood. Everything was just messed up. Chaotic. They needed strong leader who would set things straight, making clear plan. They need to work as one, figuring one problem at once. And problems they had. A vaultfull.
@dx144 "I know Aggy isn't a child anymore, but she's still my baby girl." he said, now much more calmed then previously with him taking out his frustrations as he did, "Yeah yeah I'm a bit...over protective. Yeah I worry too much. You wouldn't understand unless you've had kids of your own. Your whole life changes once that happens. " He kept talking. He didn't know why. Maybe it was the blood loss getting to him. Making him act against his own nature. Or maybe he just wanted someone to understand where he was coming from for once. "Suddenly, you have more to look out for then yourself. You have someone else that takes full priority in your mind. A life you brought into this world. Someone that depends on you to guide them and keep them safe. And despite all of the bumps in the road I had to go through to raise her, I don't regret a moment of it. I wouldn't trade her for the world." Nope. That just felt werid too him. Everything he said he felt was true to him, and yet opening up like that felt strange. No that didn't feel right in his mind. What was the point in trying to convince others he wasn't just a cranky old bastard. Like they'd ever see him as anything other than that. Why ruin his reputation like that anyway? It was definitely the blood loss speaking for him.
"I guess I kinda get that, still you've done a good job as she can handle herself in a situation as bad as this then I'm sure she can handle herself in any situation. If you want all this to stay between us then I'm more than happy to keep this between us, I mean I don't think you'd let me speak of this and there isn't anyone who's left who'd really listen to my ramblings anyway." Oliver didn't really know why he was still standing around in the Radio Room, Tony looked like he might need a bit of help getting back to the others with his blood lose and all but Oliver didn't want to impose upon him, especially since he still had then wrench pretty close. Then again if Tony passed out from blood lose I doubt that the Overseer would be able to do much to move Tony by herself being 14 and what not. "Do you want to go back to the group now or just going to take a nap next to some broken radio equipment?"
OOC: Everyone can assume to have either a baseball bat, nailgun, pistol, tire iron or switchblade (in @Jorimel 's case, a Kitchen Knife) as a means to defend themselves. Also you may have taken leather armor or stripped vault-sec armor of the dead. You may emote in your upcoming posts with a little flashback what you did with the ~142 corpses in your vault. Furthermore @Jorimel 's intensive searching and collecting leaves you with around 3 stim-packs per person and a multitude of buffing drugs. Aaaand everyone is also back at full health. Research in the radio station was concluded by the Overseer, however no clue to whom setup the signal could be found. The rest of the Vault dwellers, or soon-to-be former vault dwellers did with the corpses whatever they wanted. Be it taking properly care of them and honor their deaths, strip them off their possessions, simply let them be, or actually turn them into edibles. Wounded were treated back to full health. Once at least the radio signal had been stopped and a perimeter put up at the vault door a sense of safety and security came back. Especially as it seemed the Vault could be re-programmed from outside again. With a quick pip-boy jack-in the password could be overwritten with the overseer's password and then completely reset, so that even the original override would not work anymore. Also a timer on the lockdown could be put. So perhaps there was hope on rebuilding the Vault, if they could find enough sane people who would move back into Vault 41 with them. And if the current dwellers desired so. After several backpacks were secured all sort of supplies sorted and gathered, the team was as ready as they could to go out in the wasteland. However perhaps someone was supposed to stay back and protect their home until the others would return?
