Back on the original topic think more people are starting to mark targets and use squad commands, I love it when some one gives clear directions as a Nob/boss for our squads, and the more people doing it then the more they will also learn, also a quick tactics question at the start of a match helps, and expirenced players giving advice during match, been seeing more of this lately
Was in a pug a few days ago as an Ork. The teamplay is way better than the LSMs, plus you guys are willing to listen and communicate to each other. Saw a PuG utterly destroy a full LSM guild on Olipsis on virtually every part of the map because you did this. From ranged in the open to melee in the tight spaces the LSMs didn't have a chance, we litterally 3 capped them as attackers within 7 minutes. In another game I was able to lock shields with a random other Slugga and we skrummed around the map as a rugby like shield wall. Very effective and we never said a word to each other. So well done.
I've been playing a bit of LSM recently because people keep stating that their teamplay is awful. I must be honest, in my experience I've found their starting loadouts and weapons extremely lackluster in comparison to the Orks'. I think it's much easier to co-ordinate well as a team and play as a cohesive unit when your weapons and armour are as strong as the other races'. They feel weak. I died far too quickly, in situations where I thought I had the upper hand. I'm not surprised Tacs are pretty much ignored because the bolter is one of the worst weapons in the game IMO, at any range. I've been outgunned by Eldar and Orks at much longer distances than I'd expect. I primarily played as Bolter Tac because they are universally hated (even by LSM) and I can see why. TLDR - It's much easier to work in a cohesive team when your weapons are better than the enemies'. I main Ork by the way, so no doubt part of this is me "trying to play as an Ork" but I really think LSM need some love.
All this time I've been lsm. During the past weekend I decided to make an Ork and an Eldar... Both races where pretty fun to play and I made it to level 3 on both races in three days... It took me much longer to level my lsm. The Eldar I played was a warlock and I couldn't believe how powerful the starting setup was for this guy, I almost forgot to even bother unlocking anything! The Orks where a blast to play with! It almost felt like players responded to actions right away and I didn't ever need to verbally say anything to see the teamwork in effect. With the lsm we naturally have a lot of new players and pugs that don't seem to grasp the game very well and I suppose that there's no helping that... But going back to my lsm I felt very clunky, weak and underpowered.
You know I can't fully agree with you there. You tried CSM yet? Their starting loadouts aren't great either but I had much more success playing with them then LSM. In fact, my best games came from using the base traitor with a boltgun. Compare that with LSM where the tactical is my worst. There is a team play issue on LSM side, there is not doubt about that. I could make the bolter work on Chaos because most of the time the team assaulted together, stayed to defend, and let me do my thing as fire support/capture dude. LSM in my games have basically just been funneling into one point or staying at one point the entire time trying to farm kills.
When do you play? I'm based in the UK and I've found LSM to be nothing like you've described. I've lost a few games to them where they absolutely outplayed us, I've won a few games where they absolutely outplayed us too, which tells me something isn't right. I haven't tried CSM, I can do but if they are the same as LSM I'd say that their starting loadouts also need a buff. The LSM ones are so weak. I assume the Boltgun for both is identical in the starting loadouts? The thing is, I am a good (Ork) player, I regularly finish in the top 3 of the team with quite a few kills. Granted I have unlocked more goodies, but when I play LSM it just feels like they are missing *something*. I don't know how to describe it. I feel bad for LSM at the minute, beating them feels easy and cheap. I used to be one of the most outspoken against the suggested 50 Armour base increase, now I'm starting to feel that it's the least that should happen.
Wotz diz? Diz innit sumfink we ned to bash a mekboy ovva da hed wif. Orkz is fytin an wen we iz fytin wez getting bettah.
I tink Da Umies have problems cos theyz all diffeernt colours.... Blue red yella un Dark green.. Wez just wun colour... Green, maybe wit some Blue red and yella or Black and checks just proppa loik... um wayda minute. yeah. I wonderz if its like brand loyalty most orks I know stick to orks... the others may flit around more.
It certainly did. I still get the most out of punching tanks to death, but now that I'm putting real time into the rokkit, I'm enjoying it. And the 1 out of 5 times my melta grenade actually STICKS, helps out a lot, too. If I could get that consistent, it'll be great. I actually had one match where I got 8K xp almost exclusively from punching Rhinos. Everywhere I went, the enemy had 2 Rhinos and a tank, I have no idea how they got so many. Maybe I was the only one on anti-vehicle duty, and it just seemed like a lot.
