And it bothers me because I actually love the Thousand Sons lore, their 'inter-fighting' (Ahriman being an Exile but yet having a powerful warband, etc.), Quest for knowledge, their attempted neutrality, even the burning of Prospero and all that is related to it and it's dramatic twists and turns. Even how they may have saved the Space Wolves by destroying their genetical research, since that way the Space Wolves remained what they are, instead of becoming 'regular' Astartes or such. IF Malcador helped us with the whole flesh-change problem and what not, it might be also good to assume he made sure we wouldn't go crazy or sabotage Fenris in anyway and at least stay at a neutral foot with them. Zeth does speak with a bit of logic with the hate thing, I mean hearing that the planet you lived on, culture, and people, and people you consider brothers and the person you kinda look up to as a father got exterminated by someone who's been dissing your legion since day one and calls you on witches because you use psychic powers when they somewhat do the same thing but aren't so deep with there powers and just call it a different name, and you learned they got tricked by someone else and were only suppose to arrest your father. That could leave a pretty big scar of hate. Though then learning your father figure got tricked by a daemon and most of your brothers go turned into dust and amounts those were friends and family and possibly think there was a possibility of saving them from there fate if leman only arrested magnus and be depressed at your former friends fate. This would only be for those old guys.in the chapter though and not the new bloods That would likely be needed. Though who's to say younger chapter generations will know where we can come from? Maygbe they will just hear a legend about the old timers in the chapter having a paranoia of space wolvces and a thing for secrets and think there from the lions ilk and challenge space wolves to duals in combat and win a d get a few legends beating the wolves in single combat.
I understand that you are going off the lore from the books, but in an Original Chapter in a forum setting, there will be some differences. So let us come off the 'this is the only way it can be' and try to relax a little. Being extreme lore critical in an RP that will create a non-lore chapter seems counter productive. Just want to make sure we -all- have open minds (not just speaking to you either as there are others). Also I am in no way saying that they would not hate them, this is more of a general statement as well.
Also another thing to keep in mind, is that there are 4 people speaking of TS's when 10 people voted Space Marines. So TS may not even be the Legion.
Alrighty then I had that in mind and em thinking up other chaplains at the moment as well. Just having a bit of fun with the others with the possibility Only thee possibly characters and the mark they leave on the chapter will decide how the possible chapter will act.
Correct. NPC's in NO WAY mold the chapter. All traits, culture, abilities, close allies, and the most bitter of rivals will be decided by the players characters.
