There are some chapter-pacts but I forgot where exactly and what they were. But basically various chapters agree to keep people stationed there. They wouldn't be blackshields or anything though, just regular Space Marines of their chapter. Or something like the Ultras did to protect Tarsis Ultra against an incoming Hive Fleet, they just went to the Mortifactors and asked for help in that one engagement. -shrug- You are overthinking it a bit there I think ^^ I don't wanna encourage perfection, that's more an EC thing. And purging those guys literally would be counter-productive, because where would we get all the regular humans to join us? The Imperium would be like "Hey, those are supposed to be imperial regiments or train at the naval academy!" :X Unless of course we just have a deal with some planets behind the Imperium's back, lol.
So now voting has closed and original chapter has one we will begin discussion on what Legion to pick. Since this will be Horus heresy era that means the only choices can come from the original 18 Legions. This will be a loyalist RP meaning that if a Traitor Legion is chosen it will be about a small section or company of the Legion that remained loyal. I am pretty sure we know who 4 votes will be for, but keep an open mind to ideas and let the discussion begin. I would like to ask you to re-vote once we have a top 3. So let's vote first what people generally say, then once we have a top 3, to choose out of them. Because otherwise the results will be.... Falsified. Because for Example: - 4/13 name 4 different legions each with 1 vote - 2/13 name a 5th legion with 2 votes with 2 votes in total - 3/13 name a 6th legion with 3 votes in total - 4/13 guys vote a 7th legion with 4 votes in total Now the 4 who each named one with a single vote would have voted perhaps rather #5 or #6 which would have won, rather than #7 just because of the 'free for all' voting round had 4 guys who wanted to do the same thing. Well we could recruit some for the chapter fleet to help maintain ships, weapons, armor from a recruiting world. We don't have to have near regiments level, just enough to help maintain our ship and our ships security, taking only a small amount from the security force to assist us ground side as fire support. We aren't going to have giant armies like e tyrant of badab just enough to give us a extra hand ground side. My vote is for thousand son.
I think you underestimate WH40k ships..... ONE SINGLE Space Marine Strike Cruiser has a crew of roughly 65k people (That's what a Dauntless Light Cruiser has which is the closest thing to a Space Marine Strike Cruiser)
