At the same time you turned your back on your 'family' because you couldn't stand their way or the path they were walking. We are not forced into submission to join the Imperium. Instead we go crawling to them for redemption. The events of the past definitely affect one, but you have to also remember the semantics of your own demeanor. To be able to let the past go and move on. Even if forced through hypnotherapy and other crap. If we were going by logics of events of the past defining a chapter. Then how by all means are things like the Mortifactors capable of existing? An Ultramarine chapter which basically doesn't give a damn about the codex AND has a fascination of skulls and blood almost as if they were Khornates (minus the desire for bloodbaths)?

Also what about certain Imperial Fist chapters which moved on from what happened in the Iron Cage and even their rivalry with the Iron Warriors. Sure there are also those who did the total opposite like the Black Templar, giving into their hatred and wanting to just eradicate everything like in the good ol' Great Crusade days.

But that also was their semantic and the fact that Sigismund 'disappeared' during the First Black Crusade vs. Abaddon didn't really help. But I hope you understand my attempt of showing you that there is a reason why there are a thousand, unique chapters roughly in the wh40k universe. Look even at the Soul Drinkers and the Fire Hawks. Those are another 2 grand examples of things that can happen to a chapter.

And if anything, we should hate the crap out of Ahriman and try to kill him for doing the Rubic spell, thus we should ally with the Space Wolves because they really hate the Thousand Sons. #EndJustifiesMeans

It's most possible though, given that it's doubtful that the other 6 people all want the same legion.

He he now that does sound like something that would ruffle my chaplains beliefs the trapped souls of his brothers kept being brought back over and over and used as rubrics never to finally meet there rest.

Have to work with the people he hates most to end the existence of those he once cared the most about to finally let them die and stay dead, while at the same time trying to use spirits to stop them as well opening e opportunity for him to be called a hypocrite

Both you and Uriel fail to understand that I am not talking about the RP here...but the downplaying of hatred between TS and Space Wolves that Uriel constantly yaps about.Stuff like this cant be 'watered down' just because you had a few generations come and go after Prospero.

I am not speaking about Original Chapter <TS knockoff> that may sprout from the RP.All I am saying if the TS get elected for the progenitor Chapter...(if the Chapter RP gets voted) that we stick with the canon and do not get "friendly rivals" with Space Wolves.Sure...its a glorified fanfic...but even fiction is based on canon and it needs to make sense!

Now...I am not saying we go out and start manhunting Space Wolves...(probably what Uriel thought that I was thinking).

So yeah...I guess my posts are not counter-productive in this thread...

Wow...who let you incharge of the lore?Someone needs to read up on the canon, because you missed a few things.

We did not submit to the Imperium because we wanted redemption. We came to Prospero only to find it destroyed.Along with our White Scars bros (who were above the planet after the Burning)help us pick up Revuel Arvida from the planet, he figures out the flesh-change thingie and Malcador gives us the resources to remake the Legion(Chapter) and grants us absolution.

Considering that line of events...for all we know the rest of the TS along with Magnus are dead.We don't know whats going on until Malcador elaborates the situation.

So no need for that "moving on - redemptionist" stuff you got going on with IF and the like.

We got a second chance and with it we will rebuild the Legion into something that wont make the mistakes of the past nor trust its "allies" (Space Wolves mostly).
Thus secrets and stuff and Vulpas wanted.

    Perfect fit!

  5. I have a question.

In the case that we are a TS spin-off it is likely that we were part of a fleet element. The fleet elements didn't take part in the Battle of Prospero due to Magnus sending them away. In addition Magnus used his powers to prevent his Legion ("I have drawn a veil around Prospero. None see out, not even the Corvidae.") from being able to see the approaching Wolves.

My question is this: how will we know it was the Space Wolves that destroyed Prospero?

Edit: maybe @High_Adept_Zeth is on to something.
  6. High Adept Zeth High_Adept_Zeth Arkhona Vanguard

I...will take that as a compliment.I will certainly try, that is!

Yes...Magnus in his fatalism. If you read my post you will see that 'we' wont know.Just as White Scars did not, nor as TS that came back to Prospero did not.
An idea occurred to me half an hour ago actually.Considering how TS valued knowledge it is only natural that we inherit their unabated curiosity. It would be nice if the most senior of 'our' ranks kept the truth of Prospero and Space Wolves secret, unwilling to seed more bad-blood between already bloodied Legions.

They...that is...'we' found out the truth from Malcador. If GM wills it that is.Everything after that, including the Chapter itself is left to the GM.

With our guidance of course ;)

Now that is something we can settle on. If we keep it unknown that our little nice egyptian homeworld got utterly annihilated by the Space Wolves, then there is no need for stereotypical hatred either. And in fact might allow us to perhaps even find that out in the long-run, like after Russ and the other Primarchs disappeared and we can then bargain perhaps with Bjorn what should be for reparation fees for destroying our beloved homeland (like the Germans had to for WW1 & WW2) all that time ago. Or whatever other decision we might make in-game. Especially if we find it out a couple of generations down the road when not even HH-vets are alive anymore it could be a much softer tone, since the emotional attachment wouldn't be there as everyone grew up on whatever new homeworld or fleet we have, and so on.

Maybe we can even snag a few dreadnought meant for psykers or have a fully trained combat serf force with us or maybe train some diviners we can use?

Maybe even bjorn could make it interesting for us and have a few of our champions duel with a few wolves. Maybe they could help us find a new home world or a nice big ship the new boys can cherish or a mobile star fortress?

    Possibilities can be near endless
Makes me wonder about if a black shield rp would be interesting

Hey what would a thousand son apothecary look like?

Better ally with those Blood Angels for Librariannoughts aka Furioso Dreadnoughts. Serfs I would stay away from, just because I don't wanna worry about collecting corpses or encourage 'failures' and 'mutants' to fight along with us. Keep in mind that Serfs aren't just humans. Serfs are humans who failed to become a Space Marine for either not being physically fit enough, not mentally fit enough or one of the organs having been rejected.

Don't want losers on the battlefield :X

Star Fortress - yeah let's roll like The Rock or The Phalanx.

    As for the Blackshields:

Solely Blackshields? No. They wouldn't operate under the Deathwatch. Plus people tend to forget that in the lore actually it is stated that Blackshields are so rare, that Captains usually never see more than 1 during their lifetime, if at all.

Instead I would suggest a special force of Astartes under another Inquisitorial arm or even completely different like accumulated from a chapter council across various chapters, just like after The Beheading, 50 chapter masters came together to decide on the new 12 high lords of terra. Or also like Malcador put a rag-tag group together. But that itself is a whole different topic for a different place, not here ^^
  10. Fox Vulpas Well-Known Member

Well if we want to roll like perfectionists we could eliminate any of those who fail to become space marines and recruit some humans to serve us as serfs instead of using failures. they may not be able to keep up but it would be hell of a fire support.

That and it would set us a bit apart from other chapters

Actually Uriel about that last bit could work in some situations like with a founding of space Marines ment to guard a certain area like the eye of terror toghter maybe one could do it in the future with a bunch of marine chapters founded to hold off or engage hive fleets?
