Octvir nodded to the Inquisitor, "As you say Lord Inquisitor. I shall take the point." He then took up position in the front with his pistol and helberd at the ready. He then waited for the exploratory partol to move.

Lorelei yawned as she approached the Inquisitor, rubbing some sleep out of her eyes.

"Milord, should I stay by your side, or by that of the eminent Father Dio, as you previously ordered?"

Gregor nodded. "Understood. If we expect even the most improbable of scenarios, I would like to ask if we have any reinforcements ready if things go in an unwanted direction. It could help to have the ships cannons aimed at the ruins. If we had to blow the complex up, we would not have to worry ourselves with explosives."

Why am I always pessimistic? I want to write something more optimistic...

    + @DaKaptin

"Ah of course. Remain at his side. If he wishes to join us, you will join him in joining us. If he will stay here to setup camp, I would like you to help in that." Konrad said with a soft smile.

"Come along, if we indeed meet Necrontyr we will need as much firepower as we can possibly unleash all at once. I hope you are not afraid of the metal skeletons?" The Inquisitor inquired somewhat serious, although he knew that Gladius was a man with little fear as he had proven against the Nurgle-Daemon-Bernstein.

"You know there are certain protocols in place. Although if we really deal with the Necrontyr, I would be not surprised if half the ship wreckages in orbit are caused by them. So it would matter little if our ship actually starts firing or not, as it would be too late anyway." His voice was straight-forward and simple, obviously aware that the chances of survival would be grim, if an alien force would be down here. He only heard tales from his Ordo Xenos colleagues and they really had not the means to fight an entire legion of gauss-wielding fearless creatures. The stories of Damnos were fear-strickening alone.

OOC: Yes I finally came about to start reading 'The Fall of Damnos' by Nick Kyme.

    He chuckled.

"I am no Astartes my Lord, I am almost always afraid."

"Stow your fear soldier. You represent the Imperium, so to admit fear disgraces the Imperium itself," he said as he point at Gladius.

He then looked to the Inquisitor, "I am ready to move out and take point when your are ready, Lord Inquisitor." (@Uriel1339 )

    Father Dio
    Earlier...
"A strong spirit and sense of duty. You'll be a Hero of the Imperium yet..." Dio trailed off. A face flashed before his eyes. A young women, not much older than the Crusader, violet eyes, blond hair, covered in crimson blood. 'Emmilia.'
With that Dio shut his eyes and focused his thoughts on only scriptures and his vows to the Emperor. Hoping the flight would end soon, to breath fresh air and focus his mind on something else.

    Now...
In Dio's excitement to begin test, he had over looked what the Inquisitor had said. Returning to his side, Dio caught the gist of it.
"I will stay behind with Mars Brother Zeth. Miss Lorelei would best be served at your side my lord, but if she wishes it she can help set up the shelter. Can't have our discoveries interrupted by the elements or... prying eyes." Dio says with added emphasis. His eyes darting to the Black Templars taking points towards the ruin and camp. Even at his best, Dio had little hope against such enemies in a straight fight.

"My fear does not control me Lord Astartes, and I do not fear our enemies or death. Merely failure."

"You are a member of a Lord Inquisitor's retinue. You are far off from failure soldier."

The group continued on, leaving the two designated Black Templar - Wilmark and Ulrich - behind, along with Father Dio (@DaKaptin ) and Techsorcist Zeth (@High_Adept_Zeth ) and their personal Inquisitorial-retinue guard which consisted out of Lorelei (@Casavay ) alone.

Konrad walked on-point with Actoan and Octavir (@matt23 ) not letting him carry the burden of first possible enemy alone. "V-formation, fan out, keep your eyes open." The Lord Inquisitor barked, Actoan simply gave a symbol with a flat hand to his Templar and they complied with the order as well.

The group could see how massacred the ruins were. Everyone who had seen just pictograms of Necron architecture knew that they were always perfectly flat and obsidian. But this ruin? It was all greyed out as if the color was sucked straight out of it or a very thick layer of dust was burned into the Obsidian. Everything was cracked and what looked once like a glorious hall of xeno architecture was now just wreckage.

Yet none of their bodies or possible invaders were seen, as if they were hidden away or devoured by the enemy. Perhaps phased away, who knew except the victims themselves? "We need to find their catacombs. Where they would keep the lords of the dynasty. But actually I have the feeling that whatever Necron ever lived here was left at the mercy of the greenskins curiosity. Or perhaps, if we are lucky, the resurrection protocols never worked." Konrad wanted to appear high, mighty and knowledgeable. Saying only theories of facts he once read.

Everyone in his retinue who knew him better could guess that indeed he barely knew. Whenever they met a daemon or were about to fight a local cult, he would just keep on talking about all facets and possible varying outcomes, what to pay attention to, what to do, how to behave. But this time his calmness and accompanied silence to not state anything wrong showed, that truly he did barely know.
