Interesting. Figured it went across all things, I suppose it really goes down into the individual weapon patterns then.
I just want to throw into the "Snipers in 40k discussion": Needle weapons are not fit for sniper rifles as described in fluff. Even if they'd fire the pulse and the needle simultaneously, they travel at vastly different velocities and at the distances you'd realistically use a sniper rifle, the target would likely uncosciously move too much that the needle would hit the tiny hole. I like the concept, but... it's a part of fluff where my suspension of disbelief is not enough.
Angel exterminatus. chapter 2 An iron hand and Raven guard attempt an assassination on Fulgrim while he is doing a stageplay.
No?No.Where did you get that from?I can see the logic behind it considering some fluff parts comparing 30 - 40K...but weapons? No. They either vanish completely (PDF planetary-plates,enhanced frames for Stormhawks,Tolskoviski (I..did not spell that right) orbital spires,Legions,Geno Guardsmen) or they stay pretty much the same. You mark your tone sir!You are speaking to a High Adept and your implication is unkind!Shall we step out and solve this like a man to cybernetically enhanced almost transhuman man! I said they cannot match energy weaponry.I did not deny their existence! Yus!Praise the Omnissiah!
They indeed do not match energy weaponry. They exceed it in combat against daemons, psykers and other warp entitites
A plasma hit on a psyker would melt the body...not letting the poor sod to lose control of his powers and then having him meet the Omnissiah. The process seems messy...with possible collateral damage. Not that the Cult cares...but it can reduce the production quotas...and stain my robes. On Daemons?Well...I never saw one recover from a Volkite Blaster or a a hit from a mighty Torsion Cannon.And...all it takes is a one hit...even on greatest Daemons.
