I think a more reasonable nerf would be to reduce the speed of the user with the melta. For example, make it so they move at walking speed, this way they actually have to wait for the most opportune time to strike rather than suiciding. A range nerf would also be good, as it would make the multi-melta the go to mid range tank killer... Fire dragons should move a little faster than the rest. This is for two reasons, 1 gameplay, (Eldar = fast) and 2 because they cannot cap points. However they will still move slower than a normal Eldar when shooting. NOTE: this change would only affect you when your are shooting, normal moving would still be fine.
They already do move at walking speed while they fire, and there's a ramp up time before it starts to fire, and a reduced turning speed. Not to be argumentative but...that's all there. Sure on Eldar they walk a bit faster but yeah.
You are really demanding for this community Anyway I get what you mean, Ork anti vehicle is frustrating to use. And meltas don't even work, you have to be on top of a vehicle to destroy it, otherwise it goes on the ground -.-
Orks should have reasonable AV but only at EXTREMELY close range due to their lack of accuracy. Are there Tankbusta bombs in this game? The range of the Multimelta is a joke. As it stands, there is NO reason to take one. In TT, the longer range of the multimelta allowed for higher power shots to hit from further away. Here? If you are not standing right at the vehicle, you won't do more than tickle it even with a full burn. I agree that Fire Dragons are a pain in the ass. Eldar speed, meltagun at level 1, heavy armor... *sigh* The meltagun itself seems fairly well balanced to me. In my own experience, it is the idiots who leave vehicles parked every which way that keep giving the guys with melta weapons free XP. It is not as good against infantry. It is not supposed to be. If you run into a Heavy, its all about who can set up firing first. Against melee, you are dead unless he is a complete moron. The whole vehicle health nerf was not well thought out, I don't think. Too much XP freely available due to idiots running off without supporting their transports and tanks. Sure, people are going to go for what is easiest if it makes any sense or not. Humans ARE lazy.

The meltagun ITSELF (see that word? Not the TACTICS or TARGET, the WEAPON!) IS fairly well balanced. It has a spool up time and slows the user when fired. You want it GONE because it hurts your play. I get it. Uz no liking da humies and poncy friggin' space elfs actually beating uz. I can see a 'Looted' version of some kind of melta working. IF da meks don't blow demselves to Gork tryin' dat iz. The suicide bomber tactic is cheesy as hell and not lore friendly at all. But as it stands? It friggin' WORKS. If Orks had Tankbusta bombs? You would be doing that SAME DAMN THING. And you KNOW it, ya pimply grot. Because it IS lore friendly for Orks to blow themselves up.
No mobile spawn= no fun. That's why i absolutely hate fight with kool kidz klans. They just shred em in seconds leaving you on foot leaving you no option to say "fcuk the klans"
Im a JPA/LSM main and i never defended the current melta meta its stupid transports should take longer to down .... but at the same time the eldar transports need to be more damageable at close range .... thier ability to go from 0-terminal velocity is way too fast ... i think we should be following basic video game logic here the greater risk / harder it is to damage the vehicle with a weapon the better the weapon is for damage on said vehicle .... meltas are arguably the easiest weapon to get to a vehicle with save maybe the las cannon but the las canon gives up pretty much all its infantry viability for that range ..... i think the vehicular damage needs to be flipped on its head .... Powerfist/powerclaw/scorpionsclaw > Las Cannon/reaper launcher/the ork equivalent > Melta(should be a little better against infantry than it is to compensate for its move). You are absolutely right on a lot of levels on this post Dreadspectre ..... fist/claw variants cost so much LP they lose viability for one response in the rps system, they have the same infantry effectiveness as a weapon thats 100 LP less (power maul) and they need almost as many hits as the las cannon to get the job done and if you dont have a Krak to finish the thing when its low you are either going to have to die to kill the transport or even if you have the time it takes you like 6 more swifts or more to finish it off giving lots of time for help to come .... you cant really strafe while your charging your 2 second knuckle buster ..... not even considering how glitchy it is against WS and Ork Trukks at present. this doesnt mean i want the fist 2 shotting tanks ... that wouldn't solve anything but it needs to at least not commit suicide while using fierce to down a tank since if they stop fiercing the tank it can move and just a simple tap on the accelerator means gg to the fist user, maybe ..... just maybe one less fierce punch from rear armor but hnonestly ide be ok with it where it is if the transport didnt 99/100 detonate and kill you instantly after you reduce it to 0. quite honestly 2 melta bombs on side armor killing a transport seems a bit fast too maybe that needs to be 2 and some other light fire, or 3 even.
This situation right here has made me alt+f4 and play something else more than any other game and I dont usually get mad at games. Melta tac runs to your vehicle. You spot him and run to attempt to stop him. Too late the melta bomb is already on it and hes sprinting away from you. Boom your vehicle is at 30% You melee him as much as you can. Hes still firing his melta somehow and your vehicle explodes. You die He lives and then taunts your corpse. Fuck this game for that. Fuck you people who do this. Zero fun had./rant
