Fixing the melee won't be done with the ability to do one clang less against a non-melee class. In no way it will make the TTK on par with ranged weapons. Just drop the stun on Dbash and make it do actual damage and get rid of the damage reduction from Dbash against a Strong Attack. Then, the melee will actually feel faster and more "meleeish". Till this kind of things is done, all that will be done "trying to fix" melee will just be a bandage.
I agree that stuns have to go - perhaps by applying a dbash you only mitigate the damage of the inbound attack?
It wouldn't stop the "mash RMB like a spaz" tactic. Yes stuns need to go, they do not belong in a shooter.
Dbash stun could be replaced with a staggered/suppressed camera effect that makes you move like a drunk or a simple knockback would also be logical and accomplish the gap creation that ranged are seeking to do when fight melee.
Think just changing it to a deflect and counter hit (that you cannot roll out of the counter punch after your FA gets stuffed) that does damage back would work best. Not like you need to even aim with melee since its both a large horizontal swing and has crutchy lock on.
It's shorter for ranged vs ranged or ranged vs jpa. It's actually longer for ranged vs ground melee in most cases
Yes but I was referring to the TTK for Ranged to kill Melee back when Knives used to break very quickly vs the Ranged to kill Melee right now when Knives can last 3-4 clangs. If knives go back to their fragile state perhaps it won't be as debilitating to them as before since now they can drop Melee faster than they used to is what I meant.
Yeah, that's what I'm commenting on too. Ground melee loadouts can be tankier now then used to be at that time. The only moments they were truly much tankier was a very long time ago when MoK was relatively new and when lifesteal mods were broken.
