The new map is too hard to assault.

  1. We just got rid of the original tug of war map the game started with because A was too hard to assault, why did we go right back to that formula?

Super enclosed spaces make for meelee trains, and swarming small areas which its natural predator, namely aoe attacks, cannot position in.

As far as tug of war mechanics, I would argue that the original game map was superior. We should petition to change the new one to the "hold two or more points to build the capture meter" mechanic so we can skip around and not fall into the trap of 10 guys on a balcony ready to rain down hell on the capture point, while the other 10 run around with swords stopping any attempt to get to said guys on balcony.

the problem I had to assault maggon is that any wise defender will start with predators.

right now if you use lascannons you can't hit predators when you go on any of the assaulters ramp. because you can't aim down. which means you have to go in the open to fight predators. So you die, a lot, just trying to destroy the defenders pred. Once its done, not enough time is left to win, so you end up taking A with proper fire support, but not enough time to get to B. And you lose.

A is hard to take, running in on the ground floor is suicide and a waste of time.

    - Use the northern deployment zone, bring Rhinos to the structures north of A.
    - Assault A from the north on the upper floor. Suppress the door in the north east.
    - Push along the balcony on the west side, fire across and clear the inside balconies, jump in through the windows.

Yes that works, but when they have predators safeguarding outside, its hard to manoeuver. So you have to take them down first. When you go around the ramps to shoot them from up top from cover, well, you just can't with lascannon because right now when you aim down the cover obstruct the weapon, even when you have visual, you can't even target vehicles because they are too low.

If you rush, even from the north position, with rhinos and predators, without proper fire support from the ramps, you are toasted. But you can't get proper fire support from the ramp, because they can only target the upper levels of the A structure, they can't target down at vehicles.
  5. All the maps suffer from the fact that the sides are basically the same in terms of numbers and resources (the vindicator on Harkus being an exception). This naturally favours the defenders and on maps that are easier to defend like maggon then it becomes much more of a problem.

I wonder if the devs have any plans to alter the numbers of attackers or the resources to reflect what the warlord might add in the future :)

The main issue with this map is the the attackers are retarded.

The north door approach on the 2nd floor has 4 approach points (north bridge, east bridge, 2 lifts) and is highly exposed to crossfire from the western ramparts. It's a defender's nightmare. Do you ever see anyone make a concerted effort to establish a foothold there? Nope.

The north door guarantees anyone in a tank a stupid amount of 1-or-2-shot kills. Does the offence ever set up there? Nope.
