It should stop them imo. Atm there is just way too much JPA and raptor spam going on. Course being a LSM weapon it wont help with JPA problem. Meh this is one of those things that feels like, gamewise, it needs to be used AGAINST the SM team.
It should mess with their fuel burn rate or their max height in a jump, if they wanted it to be realistic. Either eat more fuel to get the heavier thing the same height, or they burn the same amount of fuel but don't go as high
I kinda pictured the shot to be like the StA-5X Arc Cannon charged blast in Killzone 3. The beam is meh.

Who is comparing it to those beside you? You compare a short ranged, specialty weapon to a long ranged anti vehicle weapon. (Which is what autocannon are. Small wonder they tear through people too) That is like comparing a melta gun to a lascannon. Lascannon does more damage so it has to be better, right? Ever hear the phrase 'apples and oranges'?
Hopefully they don't give it a absurd LP cost. I'm looking forward to slapping the pistol onto my Wolf Priest.
I think from the point of some one who has played the table top game the gun dose not work at all like it is ment to its ment to hurt based on armour value so more damage to more armoured targets so the higher the targets armour the more it hurts them the slow down is a nice add on but that's about it so fare the way they have it now it's not worth having over any over weapon
That is my main complaint. The sound effect of the weapon and its animation feel like placeholders. Heavy out that beam sound so it sounds more intimidating and make that beam look more menacing. The weapon itself will get balance adjustments but its purpose is frigging amazing. Finally space marines will be able to slow down eldar vehicles or slow down advancing melee opponents. Its an anti mobility weapon and will probably become a key weapon in space marine squad based combat.
