Something that pops into my mind from time to time is how loadouts and characters are handled here. On one hand 5 loadouts is not enough given the specialties each class can do and even what main weapon you have equipped. I know that(at least I've heard) that we will get more than 5 custom loadouts in the future to alleviate this. Great, awesome. On the other hand, I feel like having too many loadouts robs you of that "MMO" feel with your character being just that, a class, a specific set of skills(Liam Neeson style) and set of weapons. Having fewer loadouts gives you that "specialized" feel, that "main" feel. Great, awesome. However I know that the reality is that EC is not a typical MMO, is more shooter based and objective based so being flexible is needed. I'm hoping for this reason that the Advancement system can allow us to REALLY specialize and get bonuses to a specific class/weapon so we can still feel like we're "maining" and growing on one type of character. How does everyone else feel about loadout flexibility vs. more focused gameplay? Do you all want more loadouts, want less? Super focused Advancement bonuses or more broad general ones that help all your loadouts?
Personally I feel I can cover all my needs with 5. It's a lot tougher with Eldar though, due to their specialization.
I feel like its in the sweet spot right now; not too few, not too many. Not sure how advancement bonuses would work for each loudout, since they can be changed etc. I bet advancement points will be applied to all the loadouts you've for a particular character, and that makes sense. Not sure what the advancement points would do though. It would be nice with more focused ones, but I would bet its going to be generic. Slightly more hit points, that kind of thing.
For me it´s fine to not be good at everything. You choose to be anti-tank with dev or with tactical, or even GA. Not with all of them.
They've said we'll be getting more loadouts and then we can pick the 5 (or whatever number it ends up with) that we want for each match.
RTS elites will be pre-made, the ones with unique looks. There are also veteran classes for basic classes, which count as elites.
5 will be enough for me. Since I'll be running mainly Devastator after console-launch, I'll have 3 loadouts (HB, PC and an AV weapon) with one for Tac and one for Apo, so I can adapt and support. Even if/when we get more than 5 custom loadouts, we'll still only be able to use maximum of 5 in battle.
From what I understand, won't veteran classes be like the regular ones just with more points available? If that's the case, when you have a veteran class unlocked why would you ever use a regular version? I'm asking, because I'm not really clear on how veteran classes are supposed to work.
