I think once traitors/tacticals get more options, the support units can get buffed more. If they get that buff now, there's absolutely no reason to play traitor. MoN and sorcerer would dominate.
That makes zero sense mate, the Sorcerer's "support power" is nothing but a bad ranged weapon reskinned. It serves the exact same purpose than a bolter (point & click to kill people) but it's just worse. Maybe in the futur he'll be different and have more interesting powers but right now it's just a bad version of the Apo. I'm going to be honest, it sounds like you're theorycrafting a lot but haven't really played them. Also, turning the Apothicary into a Tactical marine with infinite heals is the worst idea ever.
Except for being necessary to capture points and win. Sorcerers have a DoT, a debuff and a heal. How are any of those reskins, exactly? Also worth noting that an apothecary with decent armor and a real bolter -still- isn't a tactical marine
Believe me, I know. But with MoN being able to capture points in mind, I don't fully understand how a sorcerer buff would further hurt the balance, since them being tougher wouldn't directly impact their healbot abilities.
Since they'd be tougher, they would survive longer. Surviving longer means they're making everyone else survive longer, and they'd be a second wave if the people they're healing die. I think it would tip the balance too much, and I play sorcerer a lot these days.
My view (I've played to rank 5 with the traitors) is this: Currently loyalists are having trouble in the random groups, cause getting a tactical to capping when everyone is afraid to enter a confined space with the MoN & Meltas. Most evident at Olipsis A cap point. Random groups throw themselves inside one after the other without unified timing. -For loyalists, taking a capture point is hard, cause you need to keep a tactical alive among the melee. Experienced players keep turning most of the matches for the loyalists. -Chaos has easy time surviving to capture since the MoN easily survives tough spots & can easily withstand almost any melee attempts. I'd really want more capture points like Olipsis C cause there the capturing can evolve into a all out firefight over dominance & being a MoN to capture won't matter. You'll still get blasted away. This is definately a capture point that can significantly delay chaos capturing if the loyalists actually do any teamwork.
