Terminators are Extremely Important for the endgame but i don't mind them coming later on. My biggest fear is that they will be to slow, or clumsy so when you use it you will always be in an open field taking fire and getting killed. or the opposite, being to fast and over powered another fear is Terminator spam Terminator armor are rare. so there should be some kind of limit to them. not just a long cool down.
Did you not read what I posted? I never said that the players shouldn't be involved in testing!!! And no, it doesn't have to be right now (well, when founder's access goes live,) it can be when they think Termies should be included after launch. Is not fear of throwing things early to us it's that they decided to focus their time elsewhere. It's not going to be detrimental to Terminators by doing so, either. Giving us Terminators now based on the info they've given us does mean it has a chance of screwing with development because it's time and effort in something that can wait over things that can't. When Terminators roll onto the field I hope they are dynamic and help really change how the battle is seen. Same for their equivalents, want them to make you stand up and have to take notice (especially if they've just done a really cunning teleport.)
Yeah, that's a big game changer, isn't it? Don't you think it would be better to test this in a safe environment like Founders Access first before throwing it post launch into the live game and exposing the game to shit like: OP! nerf it, nerf it, it's unbalancing the game bla bla bla !
Again, read above unless you're either ignoring it or just have a hard time understanding. Testing with players before being added, doesn't matter if it's now or later except the fact that it's not going to happen now for the myriad of reasons we've detailed and had the backing of Nathan on more than once.
So maybe it's worth changing mind about it. And i think it really does matter if you test it with as many players as possible EARLIER than LATER. We seem to differ in some fundamental things, the devs chose the way they chose, I hope they won't regret it while implementing the termies.
A well coordinated squad of termies deep striking and then moving in cohesion into cramped interiors to capture/destroy objectives are very, very needed. Tactics rule the day here.
Terminators are important for attacking and defending interiors, considering they're the heaviest infantry that can go inside. Otherwise, on the battlefield a Dreadnought or other vehicles will do just fine.
Thats what most games have tehre PTS for. Put it on, let palyers test it, plan playtests to gather data. Works in every state of the game, even years after release. It could even happen that such tests reveal that its not possible to fit Terminators in the game in a balanced way and skip them.
bigger target, slower acceleration, larger turning circle, fewer load-out options, harder to use cover, probably cant scale/vault obstacles, while still being vunerable to about 90% of weapons (I doubt combat knives are much of a threat)
