I was talking more from a perspective of "which comes first" not "which denies the others existence". Such big features dont generally get developed in unison cause of their sheer size. So i was stating what i would give priority to if we were asked at one point. That would be ideal now wouldnt it?
Terminators and the other races equivalent will be very fun to have. They will also be game changing. However, with the work slate it ain't going to happen. I want them dearly, but they ain't going to happen for launch I want them in this game, but when the devs can implement them and when the devs can do it right. No half baked termies.
Having termies to be in at launch will force the dev's to half bake the game. I think at this point the dev's are well aware of what players want to be in EC but I think the players are over-estimating what is actually viable to have finished and polished at launch.
I personally think that termies and equivalents should be part of the core gameplay, a tool to break heavilly defended CQC areas like capture points, being almost unkillable if you don't have a heavy weapon, but very vulnerable against devastator classes and vehicles.
Ivan explained why, they just don't have enough time that is. 4 factions + Nids means that they have a bunch of things to animate and model, 1 set for SMs, 1 set for Ork, 2 sets for Eldar, x sets for Nids. You see the problem? PS2 is a FPS with less animation workload, yet it took them till late CB to fully implement the animation for VS MAX, and animations in PS2 are not the best either.
Terminators are the only thing I could use to slow the ever encroaching tide of depression I feel every time I think about how far away launch is, and how even farther necrons are, and how we got beaten out by blue space fish goats in a popularity contest.
Terminators (and the other Faction equivalents) will be in the game at some stage. As it's obvious that the devs planned to have them in the game right from the start, as you can see in these images: >>>And Nathan has informed us on the very logical reasoning behind holding back on implementing them into the game here.<<<
