And thats where the choice comes in, like i said go ahead and dont get a single mutations, that wont phase me in the slightest seeing you have fun.
But our choice should be fleshed our right and proper, not just get the color green on our face if you choose Nurgle or whatnot.

in case you misunderstood me, i'm all FOR mutations and stuff. i'm arguing, that implementation issues regarding fluff and stuff is merely a bit more costly on the art-team department. technical issues are left open, for this we need patrick, but even he said many times, that they first have to evaluate it.

Lets just hope their evaluations lead us in the direction we desire then.
Cause Chaos with unnoticeable subpar or non existant mutations is not the Chaos i wanna join.

Tentacles dammit, I want tentacles! Tentacle arms, wings, bird-of-prey feet with talons, and large bone crests are on my wish-list from the dark gods devs.

Also, Slaanesh followers typically have sonic weaponry on their armor or fused them, are master swordsmen, and focus on speed and sonic based powers- along with some precog.

    Ill disagree
I agree with the OPTION of Mutations. As a standard default they should look like marines. Dont get me wrong, still chaos marines, with the right icons, armour types, wargear, and markings, but not pre-mutated from the get go. Im for the option that you should be able to pick a god which will do "something" for you, this leads you down a different class then a typical SM.
I understand this could lead to confusion between CSM and SM, but thats kind of the point, and definately fluffy. Even Loyalist Marines dont always know that those are CSM, particularly from a distance. Adds that extra feeling to the game when you know as a SM that when you look around and see Marines in the distance, that those may not be friendly Marines. Not to get off topic onto maps and tactical feeds and such.
Again, a class/weapon/wargear/god choice. You want to use a mutated tentcal arm of Tzeench? Then you go down the Tzeench (class) tree and unlock it. Or you stay on Undivided, maybe still unlocking said mutated tentcal arm, but it taking you longer to do so then if you dedicated yourself. We crate player choice, add another level to customization, change CSM is something new and different from the "basic" SM feel, and give a gentle nod to the RPG aspect in the game.

The choice to not become a monster should be there ofc.
Im just stressing the importance of how fleshed out those that actually choose to become one should be.
Not many MMOs (if any, didint play a single one that does it and i played a ton of them) gives you the feel that you are actually a part of an evil monstrous faction.

Ones that come close still have "fetch 10 flowers for the farmer" quests given to you even if you look like something that should be chained 50ft underground.
These mutations, along with the rich campaign stories they promised us will really make you feel like you are on the dark path of chaos.

I think mutations should be in the game and should give a vibrant flavor to Chaos. The Space Marines have all their holy iconography that make them look like angels in power armor, so Chaos should get the same iconography making them look like the twisted daemonic brothers they are to the loyalists.

Colors and armor patterns should not be the only thing separating CSM from SM.

Why not a third option? Possessed being an eventual option for a Chaos Marine despite its faction? Forgoing Long range for devastating melee, faster movement speed, & maybe close range 'warp fire' attacks? That way you can be as mutated as you possibly want to be while still being completely different from the rest of the Chaos Marines?

I could see this as a further unlocking or development of an Assualt Class. Gain (additional) mutations and more damage potential but lose the jetpack and are restrcited to the ground. Trades off mobility for more stopping power.
As a class by itself though? Doubtful. They will already have the assualt class as a fully dedicated Melee class. Seems to me if nothing else is going to be totally balance that basic classes will be. Dev type Squads all around, Tac like Squads all around, Etc.
