It's the same thing in terms of movement on Chaos. People don't just sit still, especially during the heat of battle. So during an entire skirmish the Apothecary is lucky to get off a heal, while the Sorc can sit behind cover healing those in the line of fire. Yes, their heals are weak, but they are able to top up those exchanging gun fire and engaging in melee, whereas Apothecary has to basically get directly in the line of fire, and then their team mate has to stop everything entirely.

Just seems extremely challenging to get a heal off in battle.
  3. Apoth is fine as he is. Yes you need to get out and Close to heal, but that's the rist you gotta take to heal/get up your teammates back to full health in seconds and apply a HoT effect. Yes it's more risky, but ist much more rewarding than the SoCs healing.

Yes @Galen shame on you  Stop being an asshat :D:p

with the currect bugs affecting the sorcerer no.

with the mon buff that make pointless supporting a mon with a sorcerer no.

in the old patch (13) when the duo sorc/mon was a great example of teamplay the sorc was really good, but now bo is literally replaced by ammo box, you heal a mon and the mon run at the ammo box.

And while the AS has managed to keep 1 person healed(provided that nothing touches him) Apo can bring up all his team in a handfull of seconds and he can also cotribute to the fight with his weapons. And no you dont have to get in the line of fire the downed people can also crawl to you or at least behind cover.

Guys, Rift is new here so cut him some slack.

What bothers me about his evaluation is that he seems to think that healing someone during a fire fight actually helps. To be honest, you would be far more useful on both the Apothecary and the Sorcerer if you helped kill off the enemies then healed up the wounded.

This is a big reason that Apothecary is far ahead of the Sorcerer in usefulness as they can shoot/swing freely to help kill enemies then quickly pick up the downed friendlies.

I've tried extensively to play Sorcerer like a TF2 Medic by keeping the heal beam on someone, but it's nowhere near that effective. Usually they just end up dying a little slower, or even worse, getting caught in the endless revive stage. Only reason it sort of works with MoN is because of the life steal they have. You're just giving him a bit of a buffer so he can get a hit in.

I don't think the heals should be touched it's just Sorcerer needs better ways to fight back.

What do you mean it isn't effective? Are you sure you play apo right? It(HoT) provides more heal than sorc. Which means, you heal someone before battle and during short engagements(get out of cover - slice some dudes - get in cover) they are invincible. Oh, and let's not forget immunity to poison while under HoT.

I am able to reanimate 10 people during combat while chopping dudes left and right. No, i can never do this as sorc. And let's not forget those immense reanimations after battle over capture points when you revive all your squad in 7 seconds. Current apothecary heal is the top tier version of it. Current sorcs is not.

Sorcerer is a support class. I am not against offensive support, but i'd rather have some additional diversity in playstyels from simple melee unprepared dudes. Like, debuffs, AoE SoC or increased healing.

I can't wait for the eldar and ork healer classes to get added. I bet it would actually lessen all this AS vs Apo debating going on.

I believe it would cut out all this SM vs CSM debate severely.
