Another really successful event today with some brothers from The Hammer that I haven't played with previously or in a long time. A real pleasure to start getting the far flung elements of the company together for the fight. Once some of the guys from SFU jumped in things really kicked off, and we won 3 out of 3 of our battles. Of especial note was the defence of Black Bolt station against the Arch-Enemy. An initial sturdy defence saw the Traitors gain little ground, with torrents of heavy bolter fire scouring the Chaos Marines from the trenches, but following a multi-angled assault the loyalists began losing points rapidly. With only 2 minutes to go and the forces of Chaos seizing the final point they needed for victory, a sound counter-attack by the combined forces of Strike Force Ultra and The Hammer of Arkhona interrupted the capture that would have seen us routed from the battlefield, and a furious display of resistance saw us grasp victory from the jaws of almost certain defeat. I believe the scoreboards and commendations speak for themselves. Commendations of my own to Brother Viserys, who for the first time joined The Hammer of Arkhona in actual combat, despite being one of my earliest recruits. He performed with admirable doggedness for a warrior so fresh to these hazardous battlefields. Also it was great to see Brother Velis return to the fray after his hiatus. Brother Asegai is a stoic and silent presence as always, and Brother Tarrus continues to be a solidly dependable Apothecary, ensuring that his brothers never stay down for long. Glory to the Emperor! For those of you who missed the event today, but are hungry for battle, there is every chance that The Hammer will crash down on Arkhona again tomorrow.
