The guild thing might be a bad thing.

We shouldn't try to nerf guilds, but buff pubs' teamwork instead.

In-game voice communication, more XP for working together, better squad leader system, a fleshed out tutorial. These are all things that would encourage team play. Pubs can do amazing things when they work together.

I think a deep strike would be most useful here brother, THIS WILL BE A DEEP STRIKE OF GREAT PRESSURE.

Honestly, I don't think getting a guild vs guild queue going will solve anything. Sure, I would want it.

However, when guilds say that they would rather play against other guilds than stomping over PUGS they're all lying. They do enjoy stomping over PUGS. It's one of the top reasons for being in a guild, feeling powerful and getting easy wins on a constant basis. PUGS stomping is a lot of people's main interest, and I doubt most guilds would queue up against other guilds if given the chance.

You know what else these games have in common?
THERE ARE NO FACTIONS THERE, you press "quick play" and can end up against the dude who was your ally in the last game.

They actually have player poll large enough to apply such limits.
How do you think that would work or even be fair for guild players of orks or eldar who make ~12-13% of population each against LSM who are at or over 50% of population?

Seriously. I didn't realize how much I didn't miss this.

I just got queue up in 2 separate pub stomps, one with and one against, and they both sucked. I had a fast smash and grab where the guild on my side rolled right over a pub quickly and so one sided that it felt bad. It wasn't interesting or fun, it was just a slaughter. Match or two later on a different faction I ran into the same group, and you can just insert standard pubstomp victim rant here.

If Guild v Guild won't happen why not let pugs opt out. I can say no to fortress maps. Would it really hurt anyone but me if there was a "Don't queue against 5+ warbands" or 6+ or whatever?

I understand that playing against guilds isn't fun, but at the end of the day it sounds like "I don't have any friends so you shouldn't either" sort of thing.

Its so easy to find a guild. There's recruitment pages on this forum and some guilds even recruit in-game. Most are very welcoming to new players too and will teach you all you will ever need to know.

The developers said that they wanted the matchmaking system to favor guild vs guild and avoid pugs vs guild but they apparently haven't implemented it yet. Not sure why some asshats claim that all guilds like stomping noob pugs because that's complete bullshit.
Its not public knowledge but some of us guilds actually plan events where we choose to play other factions just so we can battle guild vs guild.
Most multiplayer games have guilds that are talking on a voice chat system and do overwhelm opposing factions or teams.... Its not like this is unique to just EC.

    exactly

honestly it makes me wonder if people here ever play other games other than EC

I'll take a shot at this.

I agree, guilds are going to exist in one form or another. Friends/associates are going to play together, work out strategies, and play. And that's ok, dare I say positive. Playing with friends is good.

But I do think there is a lack of teamplay tools. I think Eldar have it the easiest because of how typecast their classes are. You see a fire dragon on the scoreboard, you know that guy is going for vehicle kills. See a DA? You know he's trying to cap. And so on.

LSM struggle with that. You don't know if the tacticals on the scoreboard are going for caps, if they're loaded for AV, or if they're going to work the flanks with a stalker. Orks and CSM are much the same.

And how the hell do you get guys organized into squads that will be focused on one point? You call out "Alpha squad to A" and half your squad goes to B. Sergeants help, but that's a hell of a lottery on what you'll get for a squad leader.

So yeah, I think the one minute pre-game chat isn't enough, especially when half your team appears 5 minutes later. I'd like to see a fleshed out lobby, where players can organize into roles and objective based squads. Does it add training wheels and is a hand holding crutch for new players and random groups against guilds? 100%, and I think they need it.

I want to notice what shitstorm comes when ingame tags came back. So without tags that was OK.

The main problem is that many of pugs play the matches like deathmatch make a minimum to win, dont destroy vehicles, defend point and cap them. In contrast, clan players do all this. Also there are a lot of clans who was raped by PUG very easily. So clan premade not a panacea for wining the match against good playing PUG.

Also I like the idea to decrease warparty for fast battles to 10 members
