We all know the Dark Eldar are true to there word they just leave out all the important details about what or how there going to do something
I assumed that it was to give us a decent understanding of the pronounciation of a word. For instance, Gue'la is obviously Gue-la. Guela is subtlety different, and of course, it makes it easier to distinguish ranks, as you could just switch out the 'la' for an 'ui' if upgraded. I'm not too sure about slumming it with the Dark Eldar. Last time, they asked for a rather gruesome "cultural exchange". They were true to their word (and we were the ones that broke it), but it was an extremely phyrric victory against the Tyranids. Basically, Craftworld will only honour a bargain if it suits them, whilst Space Marines honour bargains based on which Chapter you're dealing with (ie. don't deal with Flesh Tearers). Marines are a little more predictable. To be honest, I'd jump in with Orks. As long as you give them a good target and loads of scrap n' bitz, you've got one hell of a shock troop force.
The only problem is that nobody besides Chaos has any idea about the chapters and their structures The Eldar even assume Space Marine = Space Marine ; only few actually know differences, same for the Space Marines against the Eldar. Obviously they THINK they belong to some kind of other sub-faction. But fact is: Everyone hates eachother so much that they do not want to draw comparisons. (For Imperium that would be as good as heresy anyway) And the Tau as young as they are know merely a few Space Marines, as mostly they only fight Ultramarines ^^ So from a 'in character' view, you don't even have the full spectrum. There are 1000 Space Marine Chapters and even we 'out of character' know only about ~50-100 something in detail. Many chapters we merely know by name. *just throwing that in since you guys started talking about allying* You can only give 'racist' views as you do not know all individuals, their sub-factions, etc. Not to forget that within a chapter / craftworld / clan you might have even more differences depending on leader. Because I doubt that Agemman (1st company captain of Ultras) would bargain with any Xenos really, whereas Uriel Ventris would rather do it if necessary.
True dat, I remember reading lore that the imperium still doesn't always know if it is craftworlders, corsairs or commorrites they are fighting now. They just go "xeenooos! Kill! Purge!" and then file a report that says "I think they were eldar or smth"
Hehe, smth comes into my mind about this. "Look, Humans. Have not seen this kind before. Lets greet them with a wave!" "Look, Xenos. They are raising their arms! Must be an attack! Fire at Will!" ... "Sarge, didnt they just tried to wave?" *Shrugs*"We cant ask them now can we? Dont ask stupid questions, and fall back in line!"
