What they could do is give space marines either sisters of battle or the imperial guard. With chaos space marines this is easy cultists and yes the chaos gods do turn their favor to humans one time khorne told a normal woman to kill her chaos space marine master and become his herald. Eldar well we all know they have both male and female. Orks don't have a gender.
Well Space Marines could get a Sister of Battle update Chaos could have cultist or Demonettes Eldar have females So maybe if that happened in future updates, you gf could play a female.
I believe this is an unfortunate side-effect from most of the lore-authors of these kind of universes being men. Males traditionally haven't been inspired to create many strong fighting female characters and because of this it becomes hard (if not impossible) to implement without breaking the lore. As a female nerd and/or gamer, this must truly suck. Hopefully, this will change over time as new lore is created and with it new strong female characters. As others have pointed out though, I for one would love to see the Adepta Sororitas in this game. Not only would it enrich the lore-aspect of the game, but it would also give female gamers cool characters to identify themselves with. Hopefully the devs will listen and make it happen. As a guy it's so easy to take these things for granted, but the female gamers out there deserve to get strong, fighting female characters as well, especially for their RPG's! /K
Giving gretchin to the orks would be a very bad idea, as frankly they are rubbish. They would be too easy to kill and not many people would play as them.
I honestly think they just need to include more than SM and CSM. the only issue is that when folks see SM, for example, they think, ohhh Chaplin, devestator, assault, librarian, techmarine not to mention all the special folks like sternguard and such. however i think the game could benefit with restricting how many different types of SM are included and adding other things like temple assassins, SoB, magos. There would be more variety and mix things up.
No space marines have ever been female, no will they ever be. The genetic mods just dont work on female. And everything that goes into the game has to be approved by GW first anyway, so it'll never happen.
The only way I could see there been anything close to the space marine are the sisters of battle and for that I hope that girls are actually able to play them..... but I want some sisters of chaos for us as well besides the daemonettes.
According to the fluff, there wouldn't be enough chaos sisters of battle to form even a small army, sister's of battle have only been corrupted on very few occasions. If you want to play as a female go for eldar.
