Too many classes turns it into a fustercluck. if IoM has dozens of variations and classes while the orks don't get nearly as much, guess who's going to win every planet?

Not really if IOM has say, psyker, temple assasins, magos, and SM. The SMs don have to have every single type of SM there is.

the orks could have mad doks, nobs, weird boyz...etc. Orks have more than just ork grunt
  3. The last time the Imperium tried to work on directly improving gene-seed we got the Cursed Foundings. The last time the Blood Angels tried to work on gene-seed via different methods (admittedly cloning) even with unwitting Chaos intervention, what we got were nightmarish blood frenzied monsters. What we got when Fabius tried to create his "New Men" were a group of superhumans who were still proven to be ultimately inferior to astartes when the two engaged one another.

The same goes for other similarly ambitious genetic experiments as well. An attempt to create a new Assassin Temple ended disastrously even with the most careful of precision due to the failure of genetics and corruption from within.

There may well have been attempts beyond these but the result is always the same: They have failed because they've always been from groups less knowledgeable and lacking the resources of the God-Emperor had when he first created those space marines and the primarchs.

There are plenty of problems with the lore, plenty of reasons why it's not worked and plenty of issues. Please don't try to handwave them away by declaring "IT SHOULD HAPPEN ANYWAY!!!" and thinking that wins an argument.

Whenever I see these gender-related threads I tend to ignore them just because of the political issues that tend to surface from them.

I guess my only contribution to this thread will be the following question: Just how revealing will the armor be?

I never heard such a good idea from a mushroom :p

But really, this is sounds good. When I first heard that the 4 factions will be those what are, I thought: what about the others? If SoB will be added later should they have to fight against everyone including the SM? But with your plan it should have to work out pretty much, and I think its no matter how many options a race has it wouldn't affect how many player will play with them. So I would pick the Servants of the Craftworlds (orkz should be 'Da Orkz')

    *^.^*

P.S.: I won't search back again, but saw that someone playing as a SM with her husband... I almost imagined that :D What if they overplaying it? Just joking of course.

(Not lore-wise at all, but I like the idea of the Valkyrs, the daughters of Russ and angels of the Emperor -- sorry I'm a born' heretic)

Well i think the revealing armor would be a "it depends" type of thing. the Sisters of Battle dont reveal much in their power armor, even if its form fitted and obviously accentuates their form (repentias aside). A worshiper of Slaanesh's armor will probably be nothing more than a strip of cloth that uses magical protection.

I would like to not see skimpy armor all the time. So full armor would be full armor on a male or female model, while something a slaanesh worshiper would be skimpy for both genders (if you can tell what gender they are).

Then of course there are conversion fields and such so you can justify more skimpy armor in some situations, but i think that the folks going into war need to be dressed to go to war.

The skimpiest armors (DEldar, slaanesh, and repentia aside) are what.. bodygloves?

Chaos cultists can be female but if you like a race and want to play as them, It should not matter.

Chaos cultists would be for me the best addition for the csm faction. I do not want fluff change and I want immersion. Its a wonderful universe and should be keep that way. As a female gamer I will just roll a csm and throw in some shades of pink :p. Sure if they added chaos cultist with a female option I would gladly roll one over my pink csm, even if it means playing a completely different gameplay. Its wh40k and I don't want to play a space elf just so I can play under a female toon...chaos all the way! (Until I can play a cute little adorable ever hungry nid...but that wont happen... :( ). Any way, that was my two cents about this.

Y'know, I've been working on my own little faction of sisters that are attached (In a way) to my space wolves.

The "Order of the Valkyrja", an order of the Ecclesiarchy that adheres to traditional Fenrisian beliefs, and is used alongside the 7th Great Company of Space Wolves, (AKA the Firebreathers). They have extended use of Jump packs (I modeled mine with blood angel jump panks, y'know, the ones that look like fancy wings) and are adorned in things such as wolf pelts, tooth necklaces, tail talismans, and the like.

I know it'd be a bunch of extra work, but having a set of sisters equivalent to Space marines could go a long way for the female demographic.

Chaos... Ideas eventually. Maybe Slaanes finally figure out a way to make female marines, and they all decided to pick their own path? Zog, I dunno.

Orks... well... You're on your own with fixing that one.
