The game needs modified king of the hill.

could you get behind the idea of different modes than attacker vs defender?

  1. There is far far too many matches decided by simply being the defender and having control of the points already. You can completely bypass the need for "wasted" slots on the typically more flexible but not specialized enough capping classes. What I recommend are more alternate styles.

    Now to make it so we don't have to scrap maps there is only so much you can change. Here is my suggestions. On maps with A, B, and C move the attacker spawn closer to C. Make it so BOTH factions have capture bars you have to fill. To avoid an entrenched defense just holding the middle point and their spawn, as the game goes on make the teams capture points that have been in the lead slowly worth more, so if the losing team manages to hold them they catch up that much faster.

    Another idea is have a match where both teams again have to fill capture bars, but have only ONE point be worth anything at once. To avoid static battles this point should change every two minutes into a match. Again 10 minutes into a match and one side has 55 precent of their bar filled while the other has only 10 precent or less? Make the cap expedite the losing sides bar and for example if their spawn was near C have it bounce between B and C only instead of possibly A so it's closer to the losing team giving them more of a chance.

    Both of these modes would require that re-deploy would ONLY take you to your teams spawn to avoid abuse.

    It's a lobby shooter. Time to treat it like one with problem solvers specifically tailored to said shooters.

    TLDR attacker vs defender is too prevalent, time for alternate modes.

    4 days for release. I would love to see something more then defender/attacker missions but it won`t change soon.

    This is a VERY good idea. In a war, sometimes, both factions are on the move and require to secure something none of the armies have already under control.

    Having moving objectives would be a great way to have maps that see action in more than one place too.

    But I would also like that they make tug of war and fortress matches more balanced. Less ticket for defenders, no god damn timer on those maps, and small fixes for overperforming weapons (hello heavy bolter).

    Seriously, they added a 4th objective to zedek... I sure hope that's because they have a super plan to make it possible for an attacker to win. 3 out of our 8 maps are not fun to play from the start no matter which faction you and your enemy are. Then, if you are ork vs eldar... well...XD that's for another day.

    Yes I'd love that. Also a last man standing kinda thing with a big open map with little cover.
  6. Personally, I would love to see a map 15 v 15 v 15 v 15 where the goal is to by being near it escort "the relic" to your spawn from the center of the map. Maybe only capture classes can carry it and you somehow have to fend off 3 teams while carrying it. Respawns in the center, first to 3 wins Good/bad idea?
  7. And the relic can give the carrier and teammates near a health buff or armor buff to compensate for 3 other teams trying to take them down when within so many feet of it?

    Ogawd. If they brought Dreadnaught Assault in here, it'd have to be a Venerable to survive all the heavy weapons :p

    Nathan had said that there is a "tank" map coming specifically looking at vehicles but not sure when its coming after launch. Though the only issue is if it will be once again attack/defence. It gets a bit tiresome always running the same circles.

    What would be nice too is if there was some theming to all these bases we're fighting for. Like Pegasus being connected to more "snow maps" if you are fighting in the north of the world map. Stuff like that.

    Gives it more of that feel that Planetside 1&2 had and connects the maps so they make sense.

    But ya, I'd love a king of the hill map or a capture the relic map or something like that.
