Thats what made me think inquisition backed. That poison is definitely something they would come up with.
Well maybe if there were more assasinarium books people like me wouldn't make silly mistakes with their lore. Of course they would probably be in the form of an unarmored SM single handedly beating an entire temple from the inside....I hate how that is an actual possibilty for 40k books.
FTFY...Apparently Vindicares...ahm i mean Ork snipers can still do stuff to normal astartes check out Celestial Lions.
Lol vindicares...i still remeber using a single vindicare to beat the tau base mission in DoW dark crusade. Take that ethereal we dun gots snipers!!!
After some thought, I guess it isn't that unlikely that four Space Wolves and a plethora of palace guards in a secure facility with access to security systems could hold their own against a member of the Assainarium, especially if one looks to the absolute farce of the Second Agrellan Campaign and how that Execution force was handled. A team of Tau Pathfinders tracking and taking out a Vindicare etc etc... It is possible but highly improbable whilst I believe the result in Wolfblade being far more likely.
Don't those pathfinders kill the Vindicare by flash banging him? Something his helmet passively counters. Making that example impossible and null.
If so, impossible yet canon. I chose that campaign because it makes the Execution Force look quite pathetic just to hit home that it all depends upon the author and how they wish to portray both an event or units within the event, Astartes have died to Children look alikes, Ventris can kill the Nightbringer, Grey Knights need the blood of the pure to remain pure... Some may argue it's the law of chance the whole Space Marines can be one shot killed by Grots argument, all it takes is a lucky or a stray round to go through that eye lens when the plot needs it and no matter how unlikely it is or the many detailed reasons in the background lore as to why it shouldn't be able to happen... It will happen. The Space Wolves may seem to be on the edge of destruction, their chapter full of Wulfen, the Fang being orbital bombarded, their Chapter Master missing... Yet there's an extremely high chance that they will survive whether that be under a new image or under the guidance of Leman Russ II Whatever it is, time will tell. ZZZzzzz...
We all know they will survive. Just not how. The models are too popular to allow for GW to kill them off.
Actually it was even worse than that, it was just one guy. The same went for most of the kills sadly, with plot written stupidity added in to give them an edge, like the Callidus forgetting she had a pistol in order to give Shadowsun an edge. Really though, even as a Tau Empire fan, that entire book was an embarrassment in how it handled both sides. Also, as I recall, didn't Captain Ventris basically bluff the Nightbringer into retreat rather than killing it by any normal means? Or has that been retconned as well?
