Discussion in 'Chaos Space Marines' started by Duster, Oct 21, 2013.

  1. okay.
    off topic question.
why the hell are there greater daemons that are chosen by their god, such as kairos the fateweaver, who are not daemon lords?

Greater Daemons are but an extension of the gods sentience, the fact that only few are numbered on the wiki/lexi doesent mean their numbers are finite. So no i would say noone can claim who outnumbers who in this situation.

As for the other part, Swarmlords sure. Hive Tyrants, i dont think so. Regular hive tyrants are something so below a god knows how old and powerful Greater Deamon. Plus simply running into the finite biomass problem.
Dunno what you were going with the eating of souls sentiment, as deamons do not have souls.
Deamons are an extension of a bigger whole (the gods), if they had souls than the warp residents would be eating/preying on each other. But they dont, which is the exact reason they scratch tooth and nail to enter reality, where the actual souls to harvest are.

On the dimension sentiment, Tyranids dont even use the Warp to travel (which by definition is actual dimensional travel):

Typically, Tyranid Hive Fleets move in ad hoc formations known as Tendrils, migrating to nearby inhabited planets after consuming all the biological and organic material on a recently invaded planet and breeding, often reproducing many times their original number. Hive Fleets travel with superluminal speed, though they never enter the Warp. Instead, by using the specialized psychic power of a selectively evolved Hive Ship, they manipulate the gravity fields of star system to achieve faster-than-light travel.

So they would be pretty much stuck in the said reality while to gods would have access to multiple.
If they tried (and that would involve entering the Warp) they would be shredded to pieces within or simply fail in the attempt.

They have entered the warp before and came out ok, the thing is with nids they are adaptable just like chaos. They may make new strains just to fight daemons and daemons alone. I think In the long run chaos would win just by seemingly being impossible to beat for anyone ever it seems.

Except Daemons have feats of blowing up stars, which is hilariously beyond that of the Nids. If Chaos got serious, again as I fucking posted before, they could simply swat the Nids out of the galaxy passively. They're not a threat.

So lesser daemons are capable of blowing up stars. Oh, and here's some extra ones-

Daemons can warp space-time to make people walk in loops.

Daemons create pocket dimensions for kidnapping and stealth.

    Daemons teleport in combat.

Daemons can cleave clean through armor without any difficulty.

Greater Daemons are immune to bolter fire.

Greater Daemon (Lord of Change) impales and flings and several hundred kilogram space marine across the room with little effort.

Lords of Change have TK attacks.

Lords of Change can simply speak and induce seizures on the listener. Even when he's a Chaplain and coated in holy wards.

Lesser Daemons are immune to las-fire and simply consume it as energy.

A full blown daemonic incursion started with a soldier simply punching his sergeant in the gut, then things escalated. Rapidly.

I don't see why Chaos just doesn't use a battleship-sized can of RAID. XD

They can. It's called a GRB.

Is the emperor stoping chaos from doing the star blow up thing to the ones near Cadia or terra?

Unknown. The goals of the Chaos Gods are unknown as almost everything we know about Chaos relates to Daemons, not Chaos. It's more likely Chaos is trying to maintain the status quo of eternal war.
