GW uses this reasoning in the codex by not letting Tyranids access the any of the psychic powers in the back of the rulebook. Not even Biomancy!Just the "Powers of the Hive Mind".

Even so, it is Warp Energy. I have a feeling this means the Hive Mind siphons the Immaterium for the use of its own particular Psykers.
