The Factions. What You Can And Can't Have.

    They've basically confirmed that. The reasoning is that they wanted to put off implementing an inter-Imperial conflict. I wish they'd reconsider. qq
  3. I empathise with them, as that would be a lot of Imperial fan butthurt to introduce on day 1. ;)

    They've basically said that they fully intend to add the Imperial Guard in the future as a fully operational faction in it's own right because it deserves the attention and resources that the original 4 factions in the game have had.

    IG is a confirmed faction, just with no time scale for implementation, as are Chaos daemons and Chaos gods being added to the Chaos faction.
  5. This isn't about wither or not its been confirmed. (At this point its all very merky) Its how long and if it CAN be implemented fairly and sensibly. This thread explores that. It explores if the comfired faction will be even BE a player faction.

    Lore wise the only faction in the game that is overpowered are the Space Marines, if they can bend the lore to make them weaker to fit the other factions then they can bend it to make IG fit.

    Given a choice I'd rather see the LSMs dumped and IG replacing them to redress the balance.

    Depends on what you mean lore wise. If you mean without them fighting any other Imperial forces such as Marines then I think your requirements of sticking to the lore need to be loosened.

    Game play wise they are easily balanced as a guardsman can easily be represented as the same strength as a standard Ork boy and even by a 2nd F2P faction, with specialist classes and paid players being able to upgrade to veterans/lieutenants to put them on the same level as Nobz.

    In the end the warhammer 40k universe will not just be scripted to the world we will all be deploying on,

    Like all MMOs we can anticipate that new worlds and systems will be offered aswell as different campaign styles and fleet battles. This is all dependant on the success of this game which already looks like its going to be up there with some of the great MMOs of our time.

    I'm looking forward at the end of the day starting off againist these factions and at the time searching for fallen angels to send back to the rock to be interrogated and so forth. This is why i initally invested in the game and when all the fallen have been found on the world and the last hertic/xenos is killed i will look forward to another adventure somewhere in the warhammer 40k universe.
