Would you like to see a battle that simply does not end in one of the underhives of Arkhoma? An endless spawn of randomly generated Tyranids against your decrepit outpost and desperate group members? An instance where it truly is a last stand with no end - no rounds, no rest, only you vs. innumerable waves of Tyranids until you are overwhelmed? To make it meaningful the score of your stand is applied to the war effort of your race.

    Or

The "Traveling upstream" sort of mission, where you must use speed and ferocity to slug your way through an ever growing number of Tyranids until you either succeed, or are utterly buried beneath their writhing carapace?

    Or Perhaps,

a Crash Bandicoot throwback where a Swarmlord is on your tail and you have to high tail it through a path of destruction and then resist the massive living wave at your stronghold at the end?

Agree, disagree? Any other ideas of your own that would be interesting in PvE?

I've been playing Warframe lately, and i have to admit i like it a lot the variety of missions, exterminate, spy, collect data, sabotage, rescue, assasination, defense, survival, mobile defense etc... we already have a hive mode but i would also like to see different missions in the underworld, not just go till the end of the dungeon and kill the boss, maybe something like take samples of different nids, plant a virus bomb, rescue a NPC and stuff like that will make the PVE part way more interesting IMO.

  3. How about stealth runs where if you screw up, you will be swarmed by hoards of tyranids and most likely die.
But for the survival one, why make it so that the longer you hold, there would be an increasing amount of time before the next tyranids attack on your base. Of course you would not know how much time you bought if at all, to make things much more interesting. :D

  4. I LOVE THIS!

I would have the above mentioned feature where you would fight wave after wave after wave with little to no rest. The only relief you have is IF you survive until the next wave than you will have the option of making it out. In other words, after every 8 or 10 waves (or make it random) a friendly flyer will fly over and permit you a means of escape. The quality of your loot will depend on 1. How long you chose to stay and fight. 2. How many nid sacs or chests or w/e you loot before alerting the nids to your presence. 3. How close you got to the nids boss before you were discovered. 4. How many of your party makes it out alive with you.

So essentially, in my example, you would enter a PvE underground hive/dungeon and you have to reach the boss. You and your squad enter and the clock begins ticking. You want to kill the boss before it tunnels away and prepares to strike your outposts (just an idea as to WHY you want to kill the boss first and not deal with the nid swarm). You go into the dungeon and you are being stealthy and looting stuff. You have to stay out of sight and the closer you get to the boss, the more difficult. Now, the longer you remain stealth, the better. However, if you do not reach the boss before the time is up than he will eventually leave because he begins his assault mission on an outpost OR he sniffs you out and thus runs away. Leaving you with some OK loot and the option to fight out of the cave or sneak out but at no quality enhancement to your loot. So, the best loot would be obtained if you 1. Make it to the boss without being detected. 2. Kill the boss. 3. Survive the attacking nids as a result of you killing the boss (they will be weaker/disorganized since you killed the boss first). 4. Survive for MULTIPLE waves. 5. Everyone makes it to the rescue vehicle.

I thought of that idea because it would put a "reverse" horde feel to it. The feel from GoW3. It also adds the element from the Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon city where you and your team had to fight against another team to make it to the rescue vehicle. Spaces on the rescue vehicle were limited so... PvP! lol. Stealth element should be added as not every mission is best accomplished through might.

Of course, they will have a "Horde" mode in EC. Horde is just... awesome! lol

All 3 game types are good, they all make good mission structures in games that are out atm.

Also like the protect the president style where you have to escort and protect a moving objective from point A to point B.

Predator/Alien style games where you have to hunt down a single but powerful character are also a lot of fun. Typically the target gets stealth powers of some sort, can move faster and is generally a close quarters fighter. These style of game types also make great use of atmosphere to create a scary environment to add excitement too. There was a great mod for Half Life 2 called The Hidden that is an almost perfect example of this.

  7. I totally wouldn't mind something like this. Would make sense too. I just hope the urban battles in general(if there are any) will be on the scale of the Eternal Crusade Forum background.

Has anyone ever taken the time to look at the background of the forum? It is freakin BOSS. Massive, spiraling towers under siege, multiple gun batteries firing at every corner with thunderhawks flying overhead bombarding the area, a MASSIVE-looking explosion over to the right there... It's just epic! Heck, you can see the Imperial cruisers behind the city! It is such a cool landscape. I hope there's something like this. Would be a battleground worthy of 40k-scale.
