The one time I've seen a full rhino deploy it was devastating. I say full, it might have been 7-8 marines but I couldn't count. We all died very quickly suddenly faced with all that fire power. Vehicles are very underused even though we all know of their importance. Eldar will need to rely on them and use them well. I am concerned with the Capper to Squad ratio. I've been promoting Autach over Exarch as an attitude before but I understand we will have our fair share of Exarch type players and I understand why (Respectfully nods towards @Brujah ) Have we thought that as Eldar move faster they may be able to cap faster? Being as we won't be burdened with something so mundane as a Servo Skull, a DA with a 1 or 2 second cap time would be a force to be reckoned with. Have we had any mention from bE about our cap speed?
not that I am aware of. it would help to an extent but I think people who plan on being an exarch are going to end up hurting more than helping on some maps for sure. That being said what do I know? we dont even have a single class let alone a full release. I think come release we will have to have some real thought put into our play style and how we can all get along. Me personally? I will for the most part run what we need, with a lean towards hawks and avengers. Avenger on a bike or vyper if I can find a mate for gunner. what can I say? I am a Wild Rider!
I would imagine so, wouldnt make any sense if they dont. Think how cool it will be with a DA exarch sword and shield surrounded by some other aspects capping a point.
Back to @Castle513 and his concerns for lack of range with the dire avenger, I actually agree with him. Looking at the C and D capture points on Olipsis and Blackbolt, both of those can be long-range firefight zones (in comparison to other spots). It's nice to say, "Work with your team" but if my only role is to capture the point while everyone else is off murdering, that's pretty lame. It'd be nice to have something that can reach out and touch, especially if I'm on the defense. If DA don't get anything medium-long range I guess I'll get really good at assaulting at least (that's assaulting in the military term, not in the 40k melee term) Side note: I remember from near the beginning of this whole fun when the rogue trader store opened up, the team mentioned that everything in the RTS was available stat-wise through normal gameplay. If that holds and the Outcast Ranger has a comparable build non-RTS side (even if it is veteran/elite/hero status), that might alleviate this. But things have changed so much I have no clue.
A Stalker Bolter equivalent for the DA was mentioned. So that should give us some "longer" ranged shuriken weaponry. What that actually equates to is any ones guess. I think we will rely on some Reaper overwatch for our long range tactics. I am also hoping for Jetbikes for fast insertion. I am thinking that we may need to make better use of our vehicles than current play styles. I am hoping at anyrate.
Aye, my apologies. I meant as a core class, not a Hero class. You might expect half a dozen Scorps on a 30vs30 match, whereas you're likely to only see one or two at most for the others. So it's clearly still advantage Eldar (unless the stealth mechanics are truly pants, which is possible).
I'm so dedicated I'm still holding off on buying the game until the Eldar are implemented. Lack of any interest in playing as the tin cans also contributes to that, mind you. The only class that's vaguely tempting that's presently on offer is Aspiring Sorcerer. Still a tin can though, sadly, and not a Daemon.
I pitched in early, I wanted the feel of playing both flavours of Marines. Know your enemy. Work with the game engine, get that experience. But I tire of playing as them now. I know there's a lot of Eldar player's who feel the same. To quote @Electrochemist "I don't like playing as clunky men". She's a founder but has put in about 2 hours of gameplay simply because she's holding out for the Eldar. We are slowly rallying though, new names appearing in our part of the forum, old names returning, clans forming or new members joining existing ones. It's great to see!
