    Raptors don't cap brother :)

    Exactly.

I think you did understand my point after all: a team based (camp spawn or not) carnage is a legit strategy on maps like Blackbolt or Harkus ( especially as defenders on Blackbolt ) definitely, it's basically about stopping the enemy 'at the cradle' so to speak.

It's not so legit however on more 'diversified' maps like Torias or Pegasus where you can outsmart the defenders more easily.

K/D show the stat of a single player:
-don't show the effort of the team.
-don't show the assist of the team.
-don't show if a support debuffed the enemy.
    -don't show if a ally heal/buff you.
    -ect ect ect

there is a lot of more important stat even for a damage dealer: like damage dealt for example.

I would like to see all stats available if it's possible, the question is where you put all of them?

The score board we have now is typical for shooters, I don't mind it but sure would love to see more, still K|D shouldn't be kicked out imo, it doesn't hurt anybody right?

K/D Hurts always the team play, from my long gaming experience I can tell you, people switch classes, camp for minutes, team kill, wait for vehicle respawn or never attack in the attacking team just for a good K/D. In BF4 there is also something like stats padding where friends help each other to improve there statistics.

Concur, the scoreboard is pretty much exactly what you would expect from a shooter. But there is no requirement to keep it that way. "This is the way it has always been done" is not always a valid argument.

Sounds like much like TTK, there are two diametrically opposed camps. There are also personal preferences involved. Both of these factors means there won't be a way to satisfy both camps, so the devs will go and pick something that will, at best, annoy half the people.

There are plenty of stats available that can be displayed in various tabs. Heck, the game could even display the number of steps someone took in a match. However, the scoreboard is just up at the end of a few seconds, so there are very few numbers that are drawn to people's attention.

For me, showing the KD is the best metric available (so I reference it) but it is a flawed and skewed statistic (in my mind). Multiple deaths from nothing I could avoid. Cheesy kills that I got. All those things get rolled in, but on the board, no one sees that. As such, the game can be mitigating the importance of it by not displaying it to the public.

Pro KD arguments revolve around killing being the most important factor to victory, and the core of the game. If that is the case, wouldn't players continue to focus on killing, regardless? Or would they kill LESS, and focus on things like defending points, vehicles, medics devastators, and other actions? If KD is removed, is there a danger that folks will all play medics and just sit in spawns shooting and healing themselves? To me, removing it from the public scoreboard doesn't hurt anyone either, right?

instead of stats such as KDR, create "efficiency" or effectiveness.
caps, capinterrupts, rescues, etc boost your effectiveness levels.

These things will happen anyway in every online game, it's in the players' nature.

I'm not a fanatic on this one, K\D doesn't have to be public but it must be easily accessible if it's important for me. And when I want to make it public I can post a screen somewhere anyway.

I would like to see customizable scoreboard, thats all.

Concerning KDR and other things about efficiency - one and only one true performance meter is your win or loss. Often i see ppl with high KDR doing things completly unrelate to objectives and ppl with low KDR doing the work, and just as often i see ppl with high KDR holding or attacking like a true heroes and ppl with low KDR hiding in corners or just running around.
However, your contribution to victory or defeat should be clearly visible to others, but in team and objective based modes of EC KDR is not the best way to do it. Someone above suggested "efficiency", a sum of any activity contributing to victory - thats a good thing, though im not sure how to measure it accurately.

Perhaps on your map, or still on the main ending scoreboard, but shown only to you? True, you can always post screens, but the post, "Look at all my kills" just identifies you to many as a glory chaser, and furthers the stereotype of the Teabagging Super Shooter Bro of Awesome PWNAGE. (Warranted or not). For reference, check the reception to the video in the thread, "How I killed Almost Whole Chaos Team".

In thinking about it, the anti-KD backlash might be a result of mis-information and stereotypes. It seems we have a lot of people, like myself, that don't play a lot of shooters. There is a stigma that shooters are super competitive, and unless you have a KD of 2.69 or higher, no one will give you the time of day, let alone give squad and clan invites. So far I haven't seen that at all in this community, but we are the early folks more concerned about the game, not about ROLF-stomping pwnage. Perhaps there is a fear that at launch the community will change, and a readily available KD will be used as a filtering tool, preventing otherwise decent players from finding groups. KD is displayed in the squad tab. If I am having a bad day are going 3/10, will I keep getting kicked from squads? Will no one be my friend?

Pre-emptive rebuttle: Yes, I know, fear of the unknown is also not a valid arguement. Also, I acknowledge that we can't change human nature and what people value and how clans and even squads recruit. However, game design can influence behavior.

This. It would require some kind of algorithm measuring the number of caps, interrupts, kills, revives etc and making something wise out of this.

Boasting with one's K\D or other achievements doesn't have to go along with disrespect for the opponent, I'm far from this, that's why I laugh at all those PG tea baggers, they are a bunch of immature, unappeased imbeciles whose strength comes ONLY from numbers not their skills (not offending the good PG guys ).

If somebody enjoys posting vids like; how I killed...-good for him, nothing wrong with that, in this particular instance maybe it's not something amazing taking into consideration the fact that Shield bro is the most op thing I have seen in whole EC :D .

And shooters are extremely competitive whether we like it or not, I do, that is why I play them. That is why i am against any extremes: gloryfying the high K\Ders, as well as bashing them for the simple fact that they do what they enjoy in computer games.
