Well sorry to say, I have had a pretty shit day culminating with my car breaking down so it maybe tomorrow when I next post.
Well I hope everyone is ok then, and that things will take a better turn for ya tomorrow (mostly by hoping that the repairs aren't expensive.).

Wish the best outcome and at least nobody got hurt! -big innocent puppybee eyes- On another front: Once the flare is hovering above us, could I shoot it down with my Pulse Rifle? Because it's one of those that has a parachute attached so it stays in the air and keeps the area illuminated.
*is promised GM post and nothing happens* Considering the circumstances I'm willing to wait but I will do so impatiently. That might work. Though if it's bright enough to light up the entire area I'm not sure you should look at it for too long.
I know we would not want the flare to be there, but the moment it pops, everyone will be visible, and I'm sure we'll be under a hail of las fire at that point.
