I have a question if you try to protect someone with a all out defense and roll successfully would the player who was protectiung the other player take damage?
That would depend. A SUCCESSFUL block means you just block the attack, a crit fail means that you were able to block it, by you took the damage instead. A simple fail could mean simply your were not fast enough or missed.
Hey @matt23 now that it came up. I wonder if we can decide also what to happen with the better roll if we were to do for example "All-Out-Defense"? Like could I say "I want the better roll to go for the person I try to protect."? This would be vital in cases where I got let's say 75% health left and an ally only 10% left or so, but I still want also 1 roll for me, to not risk dying from a crit. hit of the boss or so.
Well in all honestly, I usually take the more successful defense roll for the person who needed it more. Now, if we wish to dive further into specifics, that can simple be done as such in a post.... Claudius used his thunderhammer to defend Zuriel and himself. OOC: All Out Defense (stronger roll going to Zuriel)
How dare you make me look like a fool in my own OOC forum!!! Sorry about that, but I am glad you say it none the less.
Alright, just checking. Because you know if there is one type of people who like to utilize a game system to their full advantage, then it's fellow GMs!
Of course. That is why I loved the way it worked in DoB. Everyone read the posts and people's health to work together, which is why it worked so well. Now, I hope everyone works together for a common goal. Because success in working together is better than failure alone.
Tell me about it -looks over to Erxandros in DWS- But yeah the DoB group was one of the closest ones in any RP I have witnessed. Each and all were literally ready to sacrifice themselves for one another.
Which in all reality is the -only- reason they survived through Signus Prime and Terra. There was -a lot- of forgetting about one's own attack and more about keeping everyone alive....even when Uriel ran into the darkness after a Sergeant who had become possessed.
