Hearing the shouts and shooting behind him Mimic attempted to dive out of the way. Seeing as it was a free for all on the Druid he didn't want to be caught in the crossfire! Once clear of the 'danger zone' he changed forms back to a hawk before making his way towards the ceiling. Mimic was unsure of what would actually wound the Druid as his claws drew not a single drop of blood! Looking for anything large and heavy anchored to the ceiling he hoped he would be able to send it plummeting down to crush the Druid before he could use anymore of his damnable spells!
The bloody abomination hissed as it's captive subdued the flames that they previously tried to attack him with. "Hmmmm...flames stay ablaze...submerged underwater....peculiar...chromosome ability..." it began to think aloud as it circled around her. "Not produced through...previously observed means...heating up of air particles?....no...would be extinguished...with contact...water..." A scientific curiosity took hold of it's mind. What it cold possibly discover about the Oppenheimer chromosome by studying this insufferable individual's powers. It had to think about the situation logically. As much as it pained it to admit, if it killed her, the answers it sought would die with her. "Fire...not simply...chemical reaction...no...somehow...mmmmmhm...wielder able to...stop flames herself...somehow ...connected...generated and...maintained by...sheer thought? Could run...simple test...find out...grrr...subject might incure...irreparable brain damage...no...need another means" The Crimson creature found itself lost in thought trying to find the answer to such a conundrum. It felt...oddly familiar. It couldn't quite figure out why, possibly because all of it's attention was given to trying to deduce it's query about the woman's abilities. "Answers...there...just need...to find them"
Mystic watched the two, with slight amusement as she closed the book and walked closer, clearing her throat. "So... Phoenix. Do you know this... Being?" She looks at Blood and tilts her head, before nodding an greeting. "A weird being indeed..." She is holding a small orb of light in her palm, as she had been using it to read a bit, before juggling it a bit between her fingers watching the two. Hallow looks at the book, curious "I see, does it have value?" She giggles, as she moves closer to serpent, slooowly sliding her arms around his muscular reptile arm, squeezing it softly. She smiles up at him with her cute smile. "I mean, not only financial value, I mean personal or professional value"
Serpent was now a bit confused. He stared at Hallow. "Excuse me, miss. I know the guns are impressive but you haven't even bought me dinner yet." He politely withdrew his hand and coughed slightly, shifting the weight to his other leg and crossed his arms. "Bet that book would cover my bills the rest of my life if I managed to sell it. What use would it exactly be to you, if it is not just a display piece? Stick more holograms on it? Think you need a bargaining chip if you want to procure this book from its current owner, money doesn't seem to be an issue."
Phoenix was more focused on Bloodbath given he was moving around her and seemingly interested in how her powers defied normal expectations of fire. Needless to say, she decided that cooperation would be a better idea than being hostile given that she didn't exactly have much of a means of getting away from the crimson critter if things went sour. So the Knight of Hell said "Or you could just ask me and I'd be happy to help out with figuring out what makes my power odd if you really want answers." Needless to say, she also decided to feign ignorance of what made Hellfire special from normal fire. Just to make sure she didn't manage to cause anything to happen by jumping straight to the truth which might be a hard pill to swallow for anyone who wasn't inclined to accept the fantastic as reality.
The Crimson creature began cackling at the woman's response to it. "Gyehehahaha! You think me a fool?! To believe...you...suddenly...assist me...my research...willingly." It would have found it insulting if it wasn't so ridiculous. Such a reaction clearly stemmed from desperation. Or possibly so it'd let it's guard down so she could escape, or find a means to destroy it. "Trust you...as far...as I...throw you...although...kihihihihi...might be...poor metaphor...given...circumstances...kekekekekeke..." Suddenly the mad cackling stopped as the creature just stopped moving. Frozen in place as it stared out into nothingness. It didn't see itself in a forest anymore. It saw himself working in a school lab. A very similar lab. The same lab he met her. He always found himself using the campus laboratories for his studies. Utilizing the facilities available long after his allotted classes were over for the day. And he'd be there alone, focused and driven. The solution to his problems was staring him in the face. He just couldn't see it. He was beginning to get flustered. Suddenly he heard the the door to the room open. shortly afterward came the voice of a young lady. "Oh, there you are" The voice of one that brought him more joy then he ever experienced before. Looking up he saw Angie walking in. "You know they were about to lock you in here, right?" She asked. He chuckled, "well, it wouldn't be the first time that happened" his mood already improving just by seeing her, "it's why I always bring a pillow just in case" She sighed as she just shook her head and looked at him. "You really should take a break every now in then, Regi. Has anyone ever told you it's impolite to keep a lady waiting?." He chuckled again, "sorry, just get so caught up in my work I lose track of time. Shouldn't take too much longer." Angie walked closer to him and took a look at what he was working on. "Well, maybe I can help you. What is all of this?" He smiled as he looked back toward what he was doing, "it's a bit complicated." This time it was Angie's turn to chuckle "oh yeah? Try me" He handed her some notes he was jotting down, chemical formulas and mathematical equations that caused the young ladies eyes to widen for a second. "Okay...I believe you. Doesn't mean I still can't be of assistance. I'd be happy to help, anyway I can" she said before giving him a peck on the cheek. Turning his head away from his work he looked her right in they eyes, "knowing I'm not alone is probably the greatest help I could ever get." "Annnnn...annnnn...annnn..." it groaned in pain. Suddenly reality snapped back to the creature. It's eyes refocused at its surroundings as it's head looked side to side. It noticed a newcomer (@Wincent ) this time it was a woman juggling an orb between her fingers as she looked at it. It growled angrily at the onlooker. It had no recollection on who this entity was, as such it produced twin swirling tendrils from it's back as it hissed toward her. "Another?!? You...who...you? Bureau Dog?! Come to...save...her...have you?! Come then! You may try...but you will not succeed! Gyahahahahaha!" It waited for her to make the first move, to gage her reaction, and to see what this being was capable of before committing to a fight against an unknown.
This was enough for Aura, who was still tasked with watching Serpent... Only that the fellow WBSA agent had slipped from her sight like the gecko he was. Gently, she disengaged from the group and began combing the complex at an admittedly leisurely pace, looking for her other charge.
As he landed back on the ground, Daniel could only curse his constant string of bad luck after he had arrived in this dimension, though some say it might just be lack of care and skill, it by now seemed like this place just wouldn't allow indirect approaches though he might still be able to keep up at least one final ruse as he looked at the fight unfolding before him. The varied lot of humans could still think him a Drow for whatever it was worth. Seing that firepower much greater than his pistol dident have much effect, he knew it was better to try something a bit more close, utilising his enhanced speed Daniel now dashed into the fight, this even with their greater number this was surely gonna be one of those closer fights, and maybe that could be usesable in the end.
@GobMaw_HellSmasha @Maleth The crimson monstrosity and hell knight began moving away from the hole and Mystic leaving them behind and disappearing into the surrounding darkness without the light of the hellfire. Soon the screaming and light faded as they wandered and eventually found another source of light albeit this light was pale and seemed to natural. Looking up they found the part of the forest they had wandered into was dying. The normally dense canopy was thinned to the point the baleful light of the weak sun was piercing through enough the could see the horizon. On said horizon they saw an unnatural structure illuminated by the light, it resembled a castle’s keep but instead of stone it was made of a solid obsidian like stone. Gun fire and bright flashed seemed to be coming from its entrance. Seems promising if they wanted to find someone with answers. Or wanted to join in some mayhem. @kanila @Azathoth @Grall_Stonefist Suffice to say, Mimic did find something to bring down upon the Druids head, even if a cloud of thorns that was thrown at him while he flied as a bird failed to harm him. A big chunk of loose masonry was loose and it was sent falling onto the Druid, smashing his foot and eliciting a cry of agony. Daniel was swatted by more roots as he approached the druid with their attacks preventing him from approaching the figure of the Druid, even if he would notice that the root’s attack was not as powerful as it could have been given that it merely shoved him away from the Druid than actually harmed him. As for Prophet and his Cultists, they would manage to stave off the Druid’s roots even if they in turn had no luck in inflicting any harm upon the Druid. The Wizard of many armaments then stepped in again with a shotgun that looked distinctly like it would have been found in a military armoury. A rapid fire burst later from the shotgun and the Druid lashed out with bolts of blackened energy that failed to harm the shotgun-wielding wizard. Finally Gorgan opened fire with his inbuilt gattling gun, and while bullets merely pinged off the masonry of the Keep, some of the arounds found their mark in the Druid’s chest, with an attempt of his to slay his attacker failing miserably as the cyborg dodged another bolt of energy. @Wincent @Wata “It’s more about the sentimental value of it once belonging to a friend who is now passed. It would simply go on a bookshelf in my manner.” Darvo said with a mild smirk as he was amused by Hallow’s antics. “As for how I will get him to sell it to me I am a man of means and there’s always something someone needs.” Exactly what he was eluding too was unknown but he seemed fairly confident. @Wincent Before Mystic could follow the Hellknight and Bloodbath some force stopped her, something cold but not of the void either. The hellfire still raging in the hole suddenly became snuffed as the shadows around her seemed to be pulled into a single point. The shadows pooled together and formed a figure that took on the appearance of some kind of humanoid bird. From the studying she had done so long ago under the Mountain queen she would recognise it from temple walls as A’bon, God of this realm. “You have shadows watching you.” He said looking down at her with a strange glow surrounding him so they wouldn’t be speaking in total darkness. “What are you doing in my forest?” He asked with no hint of malice in his monstrous voice. Only curiosity and some caution. @Casavay Looking for an eight foot tall lizardman in a party that mostly consisted of averagely tall upper class mundane people at first seemed like a simple task. But unfortunately for Aura Serpent was no longer in the main area the party was taking place. He could have gone anywhere while she was distracted. The gallery, another part of city hall, or he could have even just left the party early for all she knew.
Seeing that he had faired slightly better than the rest in his attack, Mimic changed his tactics slightly. Circling several times to throw off his intended direction of dive, before finally finding that sweet spot. Diving at full speed towards the Druid, Mimic changed his form at the last minute into a rhino. Mimic attempted to impale the Druid on his new horn.
