Hallow walked around the party. She wasn'5 a huge fan of these kinds of events, preferably something with a bit more "depth" in it. These people here had the most dull and dead eyes she had ever seen on a human being that still had a beating heart, as per usual at these parties. But it was still nice to walk around a bit with people that DIDN'T smell like unwashed clothes and strong alchohol, and the food wasn't that bad. Was a bit tasteless for her choice but it worked well enough. Despite her... "uncouth" nature and determination to do what she want, is Hallow very capable of behaving like a upper class lady. She walks with surprising elegance, holds her back right and firm and look over the people with her emerald eyes. Her Snow White skin and long orange hair is extremely eye catching, especially as contrast to her long black dress with black gloves. She is, for better or for worse, a real eyecatcher. After a while, she decided to approach the boy by the table. She walks over and smiles at him as she places her hand on a chair beside him "Is this seat taken?" Mystic watched as Phoenix began to assist the men in armour. She toyed with the thought of leaving the servant of hell here but decided against it. It would be to a disadvantage to her plans. Speaking of plans, she sighes in a annoyed tone over not being able to attend the gala, she had actually looked forwards to improve her social skills a bit, had picked out a dress and everything. She had managed to get her hands onto a invitation trough some simple favors with a scrying or the like with some of the rich elite. (Nothing shady, just some magical assistance) Anyway, she focuses at the moment at hand. The huge scorpions. She makes a mental note to visit the queen and ask if she perhaps could get a beastiary for this region, would be a excellent part of her collection. She slips back into the shadows of the forest, walking around the area, watching. Seeing if she can find some opening or way to assist. She isn't really one to charge first into the enemy.
The Prophet stared at the insectoid entity for several seconds, slightly flummoxed. He was not expecting the father of insects to get involved. Swiftly recollecting himself, he knelt before the eldritch creature and bade his cultists do the same. It would be more difficult inducing a being he was not beholden to into aiding him, but the Prophet resolved to make the attempt. Any aid would be appreciated. "Mighty spawn of the Insect God, we have called upon you to aid us in a time of great need. We are soon to enter battle against a foe of great power, and require the reinforcement of a mighty entity of the outside, like yourself. Aid us in this battle and we will repay you this service in full." It was certainly a risk, treating with beings of a higher order of existence, but it was better to be in debt to an ally than to be dead at the hands of a nigh-indomitable enemy.
"Well thats one problem solved." Lazarus said as he tried to move his arm, testing each finger as pain was slowly registering for it. The pop and crack sound was not a good sign along with that and the feeling of broken bones he would likely need a new arm soon. "We should get going before another one of these beasts show up." Lazarus said looking to his current partner.
@kanila @Valonox The Wizard stared at Mimic, upon further inspection the old man was carrying some kind of strange flintlock weapon. The large robotic man was also carrying one but it was almost as long as he is tall. “I know of a way we can get home. But it's pretty far away from here and it's very old. Chances are it doesn't even work anymore.” The robotic man turned his head to look at the wizard. “You mean you knew away out of here the whole time.” He said in an irritated tone. “Yep” “Why didn't you mention it before?!” “I wanted to find my house and pick up some things first.” “WHY?!” “SENTIMENTAL VALUE!!!” The two’s conversation devolved into a shouting match. The wolf lord was visibly annoyed by their bickering. “ENOUGH!” His voice screamed into their minds. “You three will leave this realm through whatever means are possible and will never return. Otherwise your bones will litter the floors of the Great Dens and will serve as something for pups to gnaw on. Am. I. Clear?!” The two stopped bickering for a moment and simply looked at the wolf in an unamused manner. “Oh but of course.” The wizard said clearly holding back laughter. @Grall_Stonefist Daniel picked the right time to attempt escape as some random woman came out of nowhere and started throwing screaming bolts of fire at the scorpions. Not to mention the soldiers who were still alive were far too busy trying to not be burned or ripped apart by said scorpions to do anything to stop him. As such he ran into the forest leaving the battle behind with no one in pursuit. It seemed like a sound plan besides the fact that he had no idea where he was or how to get home. Though now wasn't the time for pondering the futility of his actions as he heard rustling in the canopy above. @GobMaw_HellSmasha Continuing further along the path away from the destroyed city the sounds of carnage got louder and the smell of burning flesh became stronger. The fact that it was getting closer was obvious. Though it was difficult to see in the natural darkness of the forest the fire being thrown around made for brief moments of visibility. As such it saw men in black combat gear fighting against two massive scorpions. Overall something not seen everyday especially since in one of the brief flashes he saw a woman was one of the ones throwing the fire. He had never seen her before but he had definitely see that fire before as it literally screamed in the air towards the scorpions. @Azathoth @Vulpas @Valonox The creature of ever writhing chitin limbs made a sound that seemed to be made by the chattering of mandibles. “I will aid you.” It said in an insidious tone it didn't bother to hide. Creatures of the outside are always known to have their own motives for making any kind of deal with mortals. They never do something out of the kindness of their hearts and only for their own amusement. “Now lead the way then, this contract exists as long as you hold my attention.” Rin nodded and the two began walking again passed the still twitching corpse of the large glowing feline and deeper into the dead part of the forest. Piles of bones and dead trees littered the dry black ground making it very clear this part of the forest was sick. Rin had warned Lazarus to not step on any of the bones as they had some kind of trap put on them. The growing pathway would lead the two towards a large obsidian stone keep with no surrounding wall. The Prophet and his cult were not far behind as they lead the many legged abomination onwards. If they would guess where their enemy lied it would have to be the clearly unnatural structure in front of them. @Maleth @Wincent The scorpions certainly didn't expect Phoenix to come running in and start throwing around hellfire. The one she chose to charge didn't have enough time to react to the ball of hellfire flying towards its head which was engulfed. The large creature shrieked as the fire struck but going limp shortly after. The fire continued raging making it difficult to see the kind of damage that was inflicted to kill it but the fact that it was no longer moving was evidence enough. The other one was still fighting the surviving soldiers but when it swung its long tail it hit the victorious(and unarmored) hellknight knocking her into one of the large holes in the ground. Mystic was able to see this through all of the fire being thrown around but she also noticed something quite different. A large creature that seemed to be made of foliage had arrived. The remaining scorpion was enraged by its partner's death and the remaining soldiers were fading fast. The only one that seemed to be making a difference was a cloaked one wielding a polearm with a red glowing blade. They moved gracefully in avoiding the creature’s strikes but that was all they could do. @Casavay @Wata @Wincent For reasons most would consider obvious the lizardman didn't respond or even notice the woman staring at him since much of the crowd was doing about the same. Besides that he seemed to be having a conversation with the Japanese ambassador with his story making the woman somewhat confused. “What part of that was supposed to be funny?” She asked genuinely confused. Aside from the awkwardness that conversation held nothing has truly gone wrong. The party was going splendidly and the Commander was wearing a fake calm smile as he was being bored to death by a man so bland eating styrofoam would prove more interesting. His wife was doing about the same with some rich moron in the art gallery. Across the large room in the dining area the boy left in his seat a little and looked up at Hallow in a surprised manner making it clear he hadn't noticed her until then. He turned off his phone in one hand and placed it on the table in a quick motion. “Uh I don't think so…” He said nervously as he didn't seem to expect anyone to be talking to him. His face wasn't red but he was seemingly trying to avoid direct eye contact with a look practically screaming ‘I was just fine by myself, go away please.’
The creature was in a state of shock at the moment. Was this another trick? Another illusion? How was this even possible? It didnt recognize the wielder of the screaming balls of fire, but it didn't need to come to the realization it had. The young woman had to be the same armor clad individual in the sewers the day before. It remembered the terrible screaming growing louder as the fire grew closer to it, it remembered the sheer agony it went through, a feeling of pain that hasn't been replicated since... It was remembering something else now, the individual in the ebony armor once again, staring down at him. It began to convulse violently as this memory came to it's mind. It couldn't remember much, the memory was hazy and not at all clear, but the emotion it felt, the steady rage building inside it's form was all too clear to it. As the unknown woman with the raging fire was sideswiped by the odd scorpion like creature's tail, it saw an opportunity open up to it. In a blind bloodlust it charged forward and toward the hole the woman fell into. Illusion or not, it didn't matter to it at the time, as a primal fury and a thirst for vengeance took a hold over any mental faculties it still possessed. It paid no heed to the others that were present, it's target was in sight. "GYAHAHAHAHA! FOUND! YOU!" It roared as it dashed toward the hole in an attempt to jump down to begin his assault on the mysterious fire wielding woman.
As he ran away from the fight he saw that someone else came to join it, fire throwing human form, not something he really wanted to aqaint himself with, not given how the last time had gorne. As he slowed down, he was startled by the sound of the canopy rustling above him, Daniel tensed up, to leap out the way, as he still looked up before doing anything, perhaps it had been stupid to run away, even if there had been dragon scorpions.
"I don't know. This?" Serpent made a silly face and chuckled a little, he shook his head after smiling. "I've never have been much of a storyteller, just got lost in old memories for a moment for my own amusement. I only made things awkward, I apologize. Morph keeps telling me to shut up, guess he has a point." Serpent laughed heartily and slapped his knee at his own dumb jokes. "Excuse me, Mrs Hirata. I think I smell free food with my name on it. Have a pleasant day." Serpent nodded politely to her with an amused smile on his face, before moving away. Then he got to business raiding the buffet table. He grabbed a plate and lamented on how small it was. He piled as much food on it as he could and begun feasting. Keeping in mind he was in public and couldn't just shove food down his gullet like he usually does. Then he moved back to the art gallery and toward the main event, "art room or whatever" as Serpent knew it. Moving through the place he saw Morph getting bored to death and his wife too. He smiled at Morph and raised a muffin in greeting, then ate the whole thing in one bite. He walked around the place, looking at the art displayed and wandered about the main attraction.
Hallow continued to talk with Rico. Seemingly quite curious about the young boy, while she eyed around the room. She noticed the large lizardman. She didn't know his name but she was aware he was part of the WBSA. She also eyed some of the ambassadors, curious about them aswell. Tho no matter how much she looked around was she always in the conversation with Rico, her eyes often returning to him, focusing on what he was saying and what he did. Mystic watched the second scorpion, and the almost "dancing" polearm wielder. She also looked at the large... foliaged being, but gave little heed to it, unless it decided to move on them. She instead muttered to herself as runes appear over her fingers. Glowing bright runes collecting together, forming weird and flowing sentences, she then snaps the fingers of the hand that held the runes, creating a weird "DONG" sound instead of the normal snapping. A almost "explosion" of bright light appears infront of the scorpions eyes, not doing any physical harm, but it sends out a radiant glow, almost rivaling the sun in brightness. She attempted to either blind the creature, stun it OR overwhelm its senses to such a degree that it would faint.
Having fallen down into a hole thanks to being swatted by the surviving scorpion Phoenix got up slowly rubbing where she had landed on the ground given it left her feeling rather sore. Still, any thoughts of getting out of the hole were somewhat flushed out of her mind when she heard that voice, which struck a chord with what she saw on her first day. So Ellyaina immediately threw a bolt of Hellfire upwards, towards the mouth of the hole to intercept who or whatever was about to try making her day even worse that it already was (making Hell look like a vacation if she was being honest with herself.) With more bolts to follow should one not exactly be enough to fend off whatever was about ruin her day from 'Salvageable' to 'Should have just stayed in bed.'
The Prophet bowed his head humbly. "Yes, of course. The Druid is near." The Prophet motioned to his cultists, and they all moved, deeper into the forest and closer towards the Druid. Toward their final confrontation. He prayed to the dark forces that were listening that he would survive. Even with the abomination in service of the Insect God at his back, the Druid would be by far the most formidable foe he had ever faced in his career as an occultist. "I wonder what the Afterlife looks like for people like me." He mumbled jokingly to himself. He wondered, and not for the first time, if he could still be considered "person" at all.
