The trio of of Notorious individuals finished their conversation and the two 'guests' went in their way without any resistance from the guards. Only thing out of place would be a strange silhouette on the roof waving goodbye to them as the assassin left in the van headed to his home and Bloodbath made his way to the manner's guest house. Meanwhile the Warden managed to sneak out of the manner without tripping the alarm, on his way out of the compound he would see the same silhouette waving goodbye to him. If he focused he would recognize it as the xenomorph from the sewers simply wishing him a good rest of his night. Strange but given the circumstances she could also be pointing a rifle at him so he took his chances and left peacefully to return to his own hideout.

After hearing Serpent and Argos' excuses while getting a look from Phoenix that only seemed to annoy him more Morph squeezed the bridge of his nose with his right hand and sank back into his chair. "You know what I don't care, just go home for now." Was all he said which dismissed them for the night making them free to leave. As such the trio returned to their individual homes be they ones supplied by the agency or one acquired personally. None the less they're home and sleeping soundly within the hour with the acceptation of the Hellknight. She was wracked by a rather horrifying nightmare the entire night while the others slept soundly.

Meanwhile across the city others felt the need of sleep and found themselves home. Whether is be a now crowded apartment full of mad men readying themselves to for a rather unusual heist or a meager apartment owned by a reporter who just had an awkward conversation with someone he robbed earlier in the day. Or perhaps the champion of the parentless who spent the night talking with a sentient feline before dozing off and a small time Super who passed out after rigorous amounts of training to improve their skills.

All of these people have very few things in common but in the coming days some may come into conflict with one another. Their lives seemingly separate may end up colliding with one another in the grand game played by the all mighty who watch from above, and below. Be it simply stepping on another's foot as the walk to their job in the morning or physical confrontation as they both attempt to do their jobs and earn their pay. Fate seems to toy with those mortals that walk the earth and even some immortals are not safe from it's influence. Even now it works it's cruel hands as two forbidden tomes are taken from their rightful place by unknown persons. The Liber Umbrarum, a book beyond ancient that holds the great secrets of not only humanity but the universe and beyond has been taken from it's vault. While a lesser known but no doubt important tome has also been taken from it's rightful place. Why they have been taken can only be guessed at but their original owners will chase them with unmatched ferocity, driving the shadows into the light and chaos to disrupt order. Fate has made it's play now the mortals must react and hope to survive.

    Chapter 1: Books of Fate

The sun rises yet again in the east as a bew day begins where the last one left off. The Novus cental bank building was still scarred by the fire started last night by a yet to be identified terrorist and gang in the southern districts count their dead after some monster and assassin attacked on of their labs. The WBSA building is still being moved into with the recently promoted Commander Stevens otherwise known as Morph unlocking the building as the first one to drive up in the early morning. His nephew never came home last night and his sister has been begging him to investigate, he said he'll do his best. Meanwhile the Mundane police forces after a five hour stand off finally managed to take in a woman that robbed a convenience store with her claiming innocence even as they dragged her off. Another day in Novus another life ruined such is the city paved in good and built upon sacrifice of the common man while the rich simply look on with impatience.

  2. Hallow yawns, as she awakes in the comfy chair, she looks around, semingly did she fall asleep with the book in her lap. She stretches a bit, looking down at the tome, nodding as she closes it, placing it back on the chain on her hip. She stands, stretching, before she goes to the bathroom for a quick... relief and then a shower.

After such she heads to the kitchen, eating 4 eggs, 10 slices of bacon and two bowls of cereal, finishing off with a tankard of applejuice and a carrot. She has no plans for the day so she heads for her garage, looking around before noticing the crime folder on her drawer. huh, she must have forgotten that yesterday. She walks over to it and opens it.

Waking up still pissed off from the wasted time chasing the WBSA, he made himself some breakfast. Sitting down to toast and eggs in his cramped apartment he sat and stewed about the loss of pay from the article he was going to submit about the sewer disappearances. Flipping through the images he had gathered that he wasn't allowed to use, maybe if he talked directly to the WBSA chief he could write the article? Then he got to the image of the one called Serpent. At the same time the local news talked about an arrest made last night that resulted in a five hour standoff. The image of the feminist from yesterday showed on the screen being carted away which brought a smile to his face. Then an idea slowly formed in his mind, what if he did the same thing to the WBSA, but only on a more grand scale!

Mimic changes his appearance to match that of Serpent. He wasn't nearly as tall as the massive WBSA agent, but that wouldn't matter. As long as people saw him then it would cause all sorts of trouble for the WBSA. And that's all he wanted, besides the mountain of cash he should be able to take in the process! Now he just had to find the perfect target, one of the lesser banks should be a good start.

Heading out as Serpent Jr. Mimic made his way to one of the smaller banks. Once inside he grabbed the lone security guard and slammed him against the wall rendering him unconscious. Jumping onto the counter he roared out at the bank tellers, "BACK AWAY FROM THE COUNTER! None of you move an inch or the same will happen to you!" Grabbing the closest teller he dug his clawed hands hard into her shoulder causing a small rivulet of blood to trickle down. "Now fill the bag or you will pay dearly." He hissed directly into her ear. Once his bag was full he ran from the bank before disappearing into a dark alley to change back to his own form.

Mimic casually walked home with his newest score. He would need to find a way to launder the money before he could start spending his new found fortunes. Dressing in his usual work attire with a green bow tie this time he headed to work with a new found pep in his step. Surely if he checked some of the older files he could find an article about criminal organizations that have historically laundered money in the past. With any luck one would still be working.

  4. The crimson creature stirred itself awake from it's dormant state. The first thing it witnessed being the silver locket in front of it's face as it held the trinket from a skeletal hand. It must have been looking at the locket again and entered a state of dormancy to conserve it's energy. It groaned sadly at the locket before it, it still didn't know what made the object so important to it. And it only made it yearn for the answer. He retracted the trinket back into it's figure and headed out of the guest house. The guest house was much more modest then Craveloft manor, which it had no qualms with. Considering it's usual residence was an underground sewer system, it was a tremendous improvement on conditions, despite its lack of care as to it's sleeping accommodations.

Upon going outside the sanguinary monster saw something that caught it's eyes. Craveloft's guard dogs. He heard barking, but this barking originated in its own mind. The barking sounds were then met with visions in his head of a German Shepherd happily bouncing around in front of him. A man laughing with the dog's antics. He was laughing. "I swear Regi, you have one of the daftest dogs on the planet" he heard a voice say to him. He looked over to the source of the voice and looked at a young man in his early twenties. "What are you talking about Jerry? He's the smartest mutt in the world." He replied back with a chuckle, "see watch, hey boy! Say your name!" The happy dog barked in response, which elicited another hearty laugh from him, "He's the only dog in the world that can say his own name! I'd say that's pretty smart, don't you agree?" Jerry had his arms folded with his head shaking back and forth. But that smile on his face betrayed the fact that he secretly enjoyed such ridiculousness. "I still can't believe you named your dog Bark" Jerry stated, "It's like naming a cow Moo" Such a statement made him chuckle, "well if I had a cow I might just have to name them that." he petted the German shepherd lovingly, "besides, Angie likes the name too. And I think it fits him perfectly. Who's a good boy Bark, who's a good boy!"

"Good...boy..." the creature would say out loud to itself. It looked over at the guard dogs, and neared closer to their cage. It slowly brought a skeletal hand out disarmingly. It didn't want to startle the pups, so it tried to be as least threatening as it could be. Looking at the doggies brought a feeling it didn't realize it was even capable of feeling.

    Joy.

Serpent woke up with a loud yawn and a big stretch. He looked at the time on his alarm clock while rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
    "Five more minutes."
He muttered and switched sides. After 20 minutes he got up and did his morning routines.
A hearty breakfast, 4 cups of coffee and 200 push ups later he got dressed. Wearing a longcoat and a hoodie with a white T-shirt, he pulled the hood over his head and he headed for WBSA station. This would be a good day for training and he had something planned.
Appearing off duty in public came with the usual suspicious stares and whispering because of his appearance. Serpent dealt with it by listening to music or he browsed his phone, trying his best to zone out. He had learned at this point to wrap his tail around his waist, so it didn't accidentally touch people.
Surviving the commute without incident and back at the WBSA station, he unhooded and released his tail.
Heading to Morph's office, he knocked on the door and opened it.
"Boss, this a good time? You're not going to throw another coffee cup at me are you?"

Seated on a particularly thick conflux of webbing, the humanised Colony reclined as their black eyes met the young woman's. They only glanced up from the yellow-red book in their hands for a moment, really only for a dramatic pause in her reading, but their captive audience's blonde head moved to the side while they did. Colony noticed only barely, and continued.

"...she ran to his father, her skirts unfastened and sliding one after another to the ground, stumbling over the skirts she pushed herself to his father, her arms around him, uniting herself with him totally - now Gregor lost his ability to see anything - her hands behind his father's head begging him to spare Gregor's life."

"That is the end of part two." They closed the book, and carefully put it away, hanging it into the fine strands of their attic web. "From this point on, we are nearing the story's end, and most everything will be resolved. Just you wait... Certainly, a bit gets lost in the translation." Their conversational partner's head tipped forward slowly. Colony grimaced. "I see you're not too interested. A shame. The Metamorphosis is one of my favourites."

One of the blue eyeballs popped out of the head, below the severed capita transfixed into the webs. Dangling there, almost like a fleshy pendulum, swinging to the left of the clean-scoured spine below, swinging to the right.

"A rude way to end a reading", Colony said to the corpse head, the leftover of the brood's last meal. Long cold, but not rotten yet, and spared by the spiderlings' hunger by virtue of not being particularly nutritious. Maybe also out of some subconscious order of the hivemind. "We are talking to a severed head", they pointed out to themselves. Individual minds scurried to realign, and within miliseconds, a thought process came into motion. They were alone in the world, and quite fine with that, but sometimes an intellect required discourse. Exchange of ideas.

Most humans weren't interesting to them. But maybe they had to find one who was.

"How?" They got up to their feet, and looked at some of their mature individuals not joined with the Samsa body.

Disappointed with their intellect's inability to produce its own answer, they left their lair to wander the morning city. Not to hunt, not yet, but mayhaps to find... stimulation.
  8. As morning rolled around, Johnathan woke with a groan as he sat up in bed, rubbing his good eye. Over the dogs at first barking at the creature for an hour or so, and then when they calmed down came the incessant scratching he heard. He knew it wasn't rats, mother's pet lynx made sure of that, besides it was far too large of a noise. Feeling like it's going to be a long day, he only put on his casual clothes from last night before grabbing his usual things such as his wallet, eye patch, and cane. He paused for a moment before picking up a silver pocket watch, having been neglected and left alone on the stand to the point there was a fine coat of dust. With the family crest engraved on its polished surface and a length of silver chain, it would have been just another token of Craveloft wealth to anyone else. Pressing the button for it to pop open, the hands were frozen as it hadn't been winded for ages but that wasn't what he looked in for. on the inside of the cover was a photo. It showed Johnathan, with both of his eyes still and not in his usual illusioned form, having his arm around a woman with numerous piercings and facial tattoo of a snake. She had short shocking red hair, neon lime eyes, and a green tinge skin. They were both smiling widely with their faces smushed together for the camera. Nightmare's face was neutral as he looked at the photograph, reminiscing. Closing the pocket watch he stuffed it into his pants pocket instead of putting it back onto the table, the darkness illusion that formed around him subconsciously dissipated as he went out of his room and to the Dining room to get something to eat for the day, and to check on his two guests as well.

Suffice to say, the nightmare that tormented Ellyaina throughout the night was a weird one.... She was trapped, within a void of complete and utter darkness, a faceless figure speaking in something that not even she understood... The words stinging her ears, and blurring the memory of Rico. However, before her memory was completely lost to this mental assault, the red, humanoid figure of Satan himself charged into the figure, ceasing the words just as soon as it looked like a fight broke out...

Xezrin promptly woke up, her memory of Rico just as fuzzy as the figure in the void-scape of her nightmare left it. Suffice to say, if Rico merited her mind attempting to be wiped clean of him, he had to be important. So she got up, and got ready for things that were more important, such as perhaps finding out what was that thing was that had dared to muck around with her head.

Putting on her normal, albid quite tight-fitting (in the alluring sense) attire, which was much more respectable than the stuff Ryrrelle had gone to bed in thanks to her nightly work in the club (which she lived in, so she literally had to crawl upstairs to go to bed) that earned her some extra, not so traceable money. She decided to check upon her apartment more.... Unusual fittings for anything special, an example of which was her summoning circle, complete with candles, a pentagram, the works.

Looking upon her circle, the Hell Knight saw a pile of metal, a misty bronze in colouration, almost the same colour as her plate armour currently was lying in the summoning circle. There was also whispering emanating from the metal, betraying it's origin as something not of scientific discovery, but of magic. Course, the note that said "In case you need this -S." that laid on top of the metallic pile was a pretty big hint as to where it came from as well, if one knew who 'S' was. And 'S' in this case happened to be Elly's other boss, the same one who was pretty much responsible for their powers.

Suffice to say, Elly spent much of her morning rebuilding her armour with the Whisper-plate she had been provided, not being one to waste a gift when it was given. This was along with studying for both her course work, a paper on early agriculture (She decided to go searching for the family tome, given it should have some information about the topic no matter how brief given it was more about the supernatural side of life), and some tomes about Htherik occultism (something she'd have to explain to those not versed in the demonic), as she tried to devise a means of improving her physical prowess, should she be called upon to do her job again today.
  10. Argos wakes up at the sunrise. He changes into a cycling outfit and exits his apartment for a quick morning jog of 15 kilometers. As Novus is blooming city of tomorrow, there isn't many parks or running routes. Instead Argos will just run across the city, around it, following train tracks or heading to the harbor. He doesn't have routine routes, he just starts running. It doesn't matter, he isn't interested on the views or desire to reach some location. Running is just action to maintain his fitness, an old habit from Academy.

After finishing the jog, he takes cold shower and eats breakfast over the news. Whey powder, fiber, omega-oil, vitamins, supplements. Argos changes into his uniform and before locking the door, waters his pot plant on the windowsill.
