Rin would chuckle. "Well I am clean now Salem wait is anyone in trouble?" Rin continued to cook. "Hey you want sweet and sour or soy sauce and rice." Salem came over to the kitchen. "Hmm I am in the mood for sweat and sour that sounds good." Rin replied. "Gotcha so was that unbound magic or human mutation?" Salem hopped on her shoulder. "Can't tell at this distant you looking for a fight." Rin looked at Salem and shook her head then looked back at the Salmon she was cooking. "Well the only people I have killed were police that got to cocky or security guards that scratched my armor, and a few Drow in duels in the Twilight Forest. Maybe I should get someones attention that is also magical but that might attract the followers." Rin sighed. "Welp would you be a dear and keep an eye on the news for any updates on the Jack O' Lantern." the cat hopped off Rins shoulders. "Sure but I get double portions." Rin replied. "Of course but you gotta work off the calories..."
  2. Johnathan could only grin in the face of the thing, absolutely enthralled by it's abilities and what it could do. It was times like this he wished he replaced his right eye so he could have a perfect view of the macabre scene before him. 'Well aren't you just a treat.' he thought to himself. And it wanted oppenheimer genes? And how it spoke in the sewer, he wondered just how this thing came to being.

"Now is this how to act towards someone who made a nice little distraction for you as you got away? How else did those 'other creatures' pop in out of thin air?" He said, revealing his role in the debacle that happened. It was true that he originally went down there to take care of what was eating his workers, but hey, plans change. "You want some Genes to work with my crimson friend? You would had better luck asking the Sauer family, but good luck working with those tightwads. And I doubt they'll work with you....but, I think you and I can work something out, get what you need, and get what I need. Heard of the Auction about to happen in a few days?" The blonde man teased, wanting to see its reaction.
  3. The monster glared at the man. He was practically emanating smugness. It absolutely sickened it, the heads snapping toward his direction, mere few feet away from finding fresh meat to chew on. It didn't matter to it what this Craveloft did in the sewers, it's ire was still clearly visible . Even in it's downtrodden state it absolutely refused to be trifled with. It's chest split open vertically, revealing rows of teeth on each side and a whip like tongue that moved about chaotically through the air around them. It hissed and growled at this contemptible individual in front of it. It would have liked nothing more then to devour him right here and now. "YOU...INSUFFERABLE...WORM!"

Except he needed the Oppenheimer chromosomes more.

"Auc...tion..." it repeated out loud, it didn't know anything about the auction. And this man knew that full well. It hissed angrily once more as his body began to shake with the rage it desperately tried to keep at bay. Ripping this one to shreds-though instantly gratifying-would only make this whole trip completely pointless. Not to mention make the chromosomes harder to acquire for it. The man wanted to make a deal with it. It'll play his game for now. At least until the man was no longer useful alive. Then it'd have no qualms satisfying itself with some instant gratification.

    "Tell...me...about this...auction..."
  4. Hallow giggled as she blazed home, she activated a switch on the bike, a holographic field enveloping her as she for a moment turned invisible... just long enough to turn back to her normal shape. She drove home and parked the bike in the garage, stepping off it with a sigh and locking the garage and the bike itself. She then headed up to her livingroom, where she brought some good drink and some food as she sat down in the most comfortable chair she had.

She slowly opened up the book, and began to read, sipping the milkshake while she read, clearly really curious about this old, dusty, necromantic tome.

During the car ride back, Serpent scoffed and muttered silent curses at the banks new jackolantern. Looks like Novus had it's own prankster now.

Back at Morhps office, the trio was greeted with a familiar sight of an angry Morph. Before Argos or Phoenix had a chance to reply to his questions, Serpent spoke up:
"I...may have lost my temper. Then again, I almost got eaten by a bloody pool of claws and teeth. Things got chaotic quick after that. Illusions and supers popping up left and right." Serpent switched his position so he was sitting on the edge of his seat, looking Morph straight in the eye.
"As for the car, well, shit happens. Sometimes you just forget to lock a door. Didn't think some punk would have the guts to vandalise WBSA property. Also, we may have a leak."

Cursing his luck, Trent decided to call it a day and headed for home. If he wouldn't have waisted the day chasing those WBSA assholes he could have been there for the bank vandalism. Nothing to write about, save his fake charity drive, he wouldn't get that extra cash for a cover story like he was hoping for. Honestly the best part of his day was robbing that convenience store! The excitement from doing that small time robbery got the wheels grinding in his head. If he couldn't make money legally he might as well do it illegally! Plus ruining someone else's day that crossed him was just icing on the cake.

As an after thought he decided to stop by the store he hit earlier, maybe he would hear if the crazy feminist was picked up by the cops from the shop keeper. Grabbing a six pack beer, he approached the register and sat it on the counter. Grabbing his wallet he looked before taking a step back. "What happened to you? Looks like you had a rough day." He played up the surprise hoping to get the store clerk to share his story and hopefully hear if the assailant was caught. (Leaving it up to you @TuskatheDaemonKilla)

  7. "The Auction my friend is where those with clout get to come and try to buy things even the Dark Market wouldn't have. The four families will be there, along with any other organization important enough to be invited, location of it changes quiet frequently through a computer algorithm, which also changes each time an auction gets prepared, to throw off any would-be officer from the trail. The location won't be final till the last possible day. Oppenhiemer genes have a good chance at being sold there for a more than likely hefty amount of money, since they're normally heavily regulated by the WBSA for obvious reasons." Johnathan explained calmly now, throwing off any smugness he had earlier. The boy had his fun, now was time for serious talk with a giant red monster. "It's going to be well protected too, so don't think you're direct way of getting what you want will work unless you really wish to die and let those genes escape your grasp. Either you'll need to be more subtle.....or having a crime family vouch for you." he told him.

  8. The beast hissed at the man's words. If what this Craveloft said was true, finding the location of the auction would have been more problematic then it had the patience for. It glared at the man, beasts heads snarling in response. It realized exactly what the crime lord was trying to do. They were trying to get the crimson creature in their pocket. He mentioned a proposition earlier about getting things for him, and he would get what Monster came for. It growled, weighing it's options with simply forcing this man to comply and actually working for a parasite like him. A curiousity over took it. Why was this man even contemplating working with it? What exactly did they have in mind for it?

    "Grrrghggh!...And...what...would you...ask...of me?"

Alisdair pulled back his hood, revealing a disarming youth rather than the grim cult leader his new servants were probably expecting.

"Help yourselves, fellow enlightened. The fridge is full of food."

He switched his TV on and watched the news.

He honestly laughed a bit at the sight of a giant flaming pumpkin. The destruction being delivered in such a symbol seemed humorous to his demented mind. He made a mental note to track down whoever was responsible. He could use a pyromaniac as an ally.

He then stood up and addressed his team. "Alright, 'gents, we need to arm ourselves for what will come. Luckily for us, I've been preparing for this a bit."

He walked to the back of his hovel and padded the floor, revealing a handle. Pulling up a trap door, he descended a staircase and beckoned his allies to follow.

At the bottom was a collection of firearms, ammunition, and several robes and Kevlar vests to wear. It was enough for a starting up gang, but it would still be insignificant to prepare them for the Shadow Watchers.

The Prophet took out his tome of eldritch lore and went through it, searching for a ritual to give his followers the blessing of the Mad God and the power needed to be a significant fighting force.

  10. "You'll need a a laboratory if you plan on working with those genes, one will stocked I imagine, and hidden, if you prefer. I'm not sure who or what you were before, but if I was a betting man, and I am, I would wager you are much more intelligent than your appearance hints at." Johnathan thought out loud as he looked at the creature, working with the few clues he had about his red guest. "What I ask of you, well, I'm asking for your intelligence. I'm looking toward growing my family's power, and I like to think whatever discoveries you make will more than benefit us." He told him. Holding out a hand for a shake, deciding to trust the mound of flesh and teeth, to agree on the terms. "The name's Johnathan Craveloft, and pleasure to meet your acquaintance...." he introduced himself, letting the creature tell its name now.
