The Brave and the Baleful (Super Hero/Villain IC)

  1. The armed individual pulls out a live grenade at crowd of civilians and makes a clear threat. Of course Argos isn't going to like him, higher pay grade or not.

    "I assume you have a licence for that?" He asks dryly about the device that could slam Warden in jail for life. There was no use to demand to know the 'jurisdiction' that rules above him, if the person isn't going to mention it right from the start, he isn't going to tell it ever. Agency rivalry, shadow organizations, pure vigilance. Reason or another, their interest collide, while goals might ultimately be same. Argos chooses wisely not to engage in dick-waving contests with the person. He can file arrest warrant later if he keeps popping up.

    "With the incident earlier we can't allow you to act on your own. There are dangerous monsters roaming around that we suspect guilty for the disappearances. It would be safer to leave finding your friend to us. Could you tell where you saw them last and what they look like at least?" He turns to Rico, taking more gentler approach.
  2. Virion clutched the husk of a noble man, his vascular system glowing an iridescent green, visible all across his face and down through his neck. The virulent Serum he concocted to save his family did deadly work to living creatures when injected into the blood stream.

    An anonymous employer made it of the utmost importance to see this figure head
    dead, depositing a hefty sum of 50K into his proxy bank account. The Employer was very closed lipped, not stating anything besides the information of the location and data file of the target. Virion didn't care for details, but this wasn't normal by any standards. Most "clients" normally rant and rave about their hated nemesis, or provide at least some background information. Regardless, Virion saw to it that the man's life was terminated with utmost prejudice.

    The case put up surprising resistance. Nothing that could be easily swatted away however, much to his disappointment. A large number of guards, some even armed with high caliber weapons, and a few augmented people as well. Turns out the Target was an influential Organized Crime leader, but again Virion didn't care. His enemies we're scared shitless by him, some fired, but he was fast. A fatal cut here, a drop of poison here. Regardless to say, the effort was pathetic in the face of such a killer. The target himself was another level however, one slightly below that of his men. He cowered when Virion burst through his door. Didn't help that two decapitated guards were outside and he was laughing hysterically, but who really takes that into consideration right? None the matter. A firm grip around the neck and and the Radioactive Serum was already coursing from his clawed gauntlet into the mans neck. It took a few seconds and that was that. Another job done. 7th in the last 2 months. The casualty rate was definitely higher here than anywhere else, but he was employed against a large number of organized crime and gangs recently, so the authorities never found suit to track him. Or they couldn't. Either way, he had to get back. There were devices to concoct and plans to be made. Perhaps he'll rob a bank. Or destroy it, or set off a bio bomb in it, or poison the water in it. The possibilities were endless.

    Phoenix was somewhat take aback by the coldness she felt (to the point she subconsciously turned on her hellfire bolt and held it close to her body for warmth) when she had sensed the strangeness within Rico, or rather what the hell was masquerading as Rico, given the total lack of a soul that was instead filled with darkness.... That seemed to have it's own driving force. Needless to say, she said to the boy "Well, I do need to accompany you even if it's mostly for your own safety if nothing, so we might as well get going."

    Needless to say, the tone of concern in Darkling's voice was somewhat noticeable even if she was somewhat relieved that Serpent could provide some back up, and that she'd be able to make a sharpish departure away from the Boba Fett impersonator with a grenade. So she walked slightly ahead of Rico, hoping to give him a hint to get moving before something goes wrong.

    "I still need more information. Supers can be extremely dangerous, especially if the person they negotiate with, has no powers of his own. You probably know some things about their powers or else you would not like to have them in your organisation. I also need their names and where I can find them. Psychological profiles are not necessary, although appreciated. It makes it easier for me, if I know with whom I am dealing"
    Gabriel glanced to the driver. If he wanted to try something this would be the best opportunity, as one of the bodyguards had his hands occupied with the suitcase.
    "The advance fee should be sufficient.", he continued without making a pause. "I will asses the situation and then tell you my decision. There are some combinations of powers and tempers I would rather stay away from. I messed with what I guess was a reality warper once and am happy that he only decided to empty one of my rooms. But that is a tale for another day.", Gabriel added knowing that it would be rather difficult to verify his claim.

    The Prophet would make his Wat though the city's down town in the midst of a midday rush. Crowds of people made their way through the streets on various chores ranging from shopping for frivolous items or getting their lunch for the day. Again he received glares and strange stared from his way of dressing but they wouldn't do anything. Humanity always feared those different from themselves but perhaps they will learn in time to respect the greater powers that watch them. He came across the shop after passing by a Cafe, a modest establishment with a wooden sign reading "The Raven's Den" with back feathers in between the letters. Upon entering through an automatic door he would be greeted by rows of shelves carrying items of minimal interest though the occasional item does radiate true otherworldly energies but nothing of the outsiders, not the void but of lesser gods. He was free to look about the store as the employees, who at this point were very much used to the kind of people the store attracted paid little attention to him.

    @Valonox
    The woman would drive by Novus City Central Bank, largest one in town and presumably the most wealthy. Breaking in to the vault was thought to be impossible from state of the art security system and rumors of guards using illegal weaponry. But then again the average bank robber didn't know how to use magic or had the favor of the hand of darkness. Of course there were lesser banks about town and if she really wanted money she could always just break into an atm or something.

    @kanila
    "Get away, pig. Bet you stole those pictures off someone cause you're a man who can't do anything cause of their patriarchy making them weakwilled and useless." That was all the other patron of the place had to say, before moving away from the reporter, spitting upon his work and leaving her devoured bowl of ramen as a final insult to her oppressor (to her deranged mind, that is)

    @Schalli
    Vasco paused as if he was remembering something, before he said: "I think you'll find that a Mrs Cartwright and a Mr Thervith are whom you are seeking. Cartwright seems to be some sort of tech savvy Empowered, given that nothing technological seems to stop the group. As for Thervith, he seems to be able to charm almost anyone into doing his bidding, As for finding them.... Well, suffice to say such a combination of powers seems to have my own stumped at where they are. However, I am certain they are within the area of our current local, given that my operations are being hit only within this area." With that said, the Mafia leader then said "And with that said, I believe you have what you need. Good luck." With that said, the other bodyguard opened the door, making it clear that leaving was perhaps the better course of action. After all, criminals were not the most patient of employers.

    @Vulpas
    The vigilante would make his way home using the back alleys and other less populated ways of transport and besides being covered in shit and many other horrible substances he seemed to be fine. His unique biology would prevent him from getting seriously ill but cleanliness was also important. Plus one wouldn't want to be known as the vigilante that literally smells like shit.

    @GobMaw_HellSmasha
    The creature would stalk the back alleys of the worst parts of Novus. Gangs of less than reparable individuals roamed freely presumably armed to the teeth underneath their jackets. No one would miss these people if they happened to not come home today or at least anyone that could get the media to care. Though the surroundings don't look the best there have been rumors of highly advanced drug labs and other such missuses of science going on somewhere down here. Perhaps the creature could get lunch and find something to catch his attention for the evening?

    @Lord_Zial_Ghoul
    With his duty finished and pay transferred into his account the psychopath of an assassin was indeed left with many options ranging from getting more money to crimes against humanity. Of course it was completely up to him and since the idea of laying low seemed to be completely incomprehensible to him. He was also in a building full of dead bodies that were his doing so perhaps getting the fuck out would be on the top of his to do list. Or maybe not who knows.

    @BuriasDempsey
    Alexis laughed again though this time it was legitimately amused by Nightmare's words. "Oh if only he would be so forward." She smiled clearly enjoying the thoughts Nightmare's words brought to her mind. Her tail flicked across the ground leaving a deep gash in the concrete showing the true amount of strength her form granted her. "I see it as a game, it's always so much fun when he chases me around the city. The annoyed groan he makes when I manage to give him the slip is just adorable. Though..... Sometimes I think I push him to be a bit angrier than I should." Her cheerful tone died down a bit at the last bit but her smile continued as the slight dip was brought right back up at more thoughts that seemed to be just hilarious.

    Rico stumbled backwards when the woman somehow made a strange looking flame appear from her hand, catching himself with his cane. He was clearly already jumpy when the one that gave him his cane brought a grenade into his hands and was talking with the one in riot armor. So when the woman holding the flame moved forward insinuating him to follow he did so quickly and quietly. Meanwhile the lizardman talked to the assembled homeless people one of which stepped forward. An older individual that wasn't apart of the previous attempted riot. He explained how the first disappearances didn't effect their little town and that it was that red monster thing that attacked them today and it ate a couple of the residents before it roared causing a mass panic and attracting all these strange people.

    Meanwhile Phoenix and Rico walked deeper into the destroyed shanty, she prevented him from getting to the more volatile bits of evidence like the red goo left by the monster or the remains of things that the creature had digested. Which seemed to almost make the kid vomit several times as they approached the entrance into another tunnel with a large amount of deep scratches that went from the ceiling and slowly lead down to wall and eventually the floor. He put his fingers to the deep scratches for a moment clearly thinking about something before turning to Phoenix. "Looks like I found her trail again, nice meeting you people but I have to be going and you have your own business to handle." He then began to move down tunnel with his cane's tip hitting the ground every time his right foot hit the ground.

  6. It seemed as if the criminal gangs freely roamed this part of the city. Novus certainly was the shining example that humanity had to offer. The gang-bangers, goons and thugs from these various organizations seemed to have the place on lockdown. Many of these various enforcers knew nothing but the life they were leading, they would not be missed if they were suddenly erased from existence. And it held no qualms with being the cause of their "sudden dissapearances". A perfect opportunity to establish it's new domain. What was once theirs-which was including their lives-would now belong to the red monstrosity.

    Sick with taking the subtle route, the sanguine snuffer of lives pounced and landed infront of a few sentries posted outside one of the drug labs. "Gentleman..." it spoke with a sense of glee, giggling maddely in front of it's prey, "your occupation...ends today..." It then proceeded to roar and attacked the sentries with various claws, tendrils, mouths, and other murderous appendages before rampaging inside to the drug labs within.

    The hooded figure walked through the Raven's Den, his eyes scanning every book, every trinket and every object in the shop one by one, searching for traces of the Void, or better yet, the Liber Umbrarum itself.

    As he walked through silently, he contemplated the possible future foundation of his cult following. In order to bring about his plans, he would need an army, but there was the problem. In it's current state, his powers only worked on the weak-minded, and thus he would have no intellectual peers in the hypothetical cult. Disappointing, that thought, not to mention a reinforcement of his sense of loneliness, but it mattered little. He would continue searching for any possible clues. The Liber Umbrarum was the key to his master's designs, and it, not his own grievances, was the top priority.

    'I'm in the mood for down town make it seem like it was some unlikeables and go to and orphanage and use pass wall to put the money in there front door.' Rin thought that as the freeway light to downtown went green and she turned right. Listening to what the Gangsters call rap. Once she goes to downtown and find the bank once Rin finds one she will roll up her tinted windows and start meditating till the Hand of Darkness answers her call.

    Looking down at the spit now covering his cameras' screen, he wiped it away and took several pictures of the crazy feminist. "You'll regret that ya old bat." He muttered under his breath. As soon as his food was brought out he scarfed it down before exiting the building.

    He was angry from the encounter, and completely ignored his previous destination. No he had a new plan, the sewer disappearances could wait. Quickly heading home, he dropped off his normal stuff and grabbing his beretta, he morphed his form into that of the feminazi. Changing into some worn out sweats and hoodie he looked in the mirror, "I'm hideous!" He shuddered at the reflection staring back at him. Clapping his hands together with a huge grin on his face, "Time to do some shopping!"

    Heading out he made sure to look for a convenience store with a male shop keeper, he felt bad for the guy but that woman had to pay. Trent walked around grabbing a few necessities, milk, bread, cereal, and even a few snack items before heading to the counter. Once he was through bagging his items and asked for the total he pulled out the pistol pointing it directly in the guys face. "Put all the money in the bag, you are all alike! Chauvinistic pigs!" He then spits on the floor. "You stole this from its rightful owners! Women! Women are far superior and your place is beneath our feet!" Once the money was in the bag he brutally pistol wiped the poor guy, wrong place wrong time. And then stared into the camera before running out with the goods.

    He quickly ducked down an alley and changed back to himself once he was sure no one was around and no cameras were in sight. He headed home with his tiny score, happy to have food for atleast a few days. Plus he would be even happier to see the feminist get what she deserves later.

  10. Mirgona smile as she looks at the loot she has collected, she puts it into a carrier bag before gathering the rest of the valuables she has managed to scavenge, steal or intimidate into "gifting" the last month. Quite the haul, a mix of valuable metals, gems and diamonds, assecories, jewelry. Quite the mixed bag, with a quite impressive worth.

    She puts the carrier bag in the trunk of her hover bike and once again drives back towards the city, towards the warehouse district, her hover bike soon entering into the darkest and least used area of the city. She steps off, her hood up, hiding her face as she walks into an alley. Her shoes clack against the stone, the bag over her shoulder, the stench of filth and piss filling her nose. She stops infront of a dumpster and reaches down, muttering as she sees the long row of diffrent bolts on the edge of the dumpster, the usual afair regarding dumpsters. She thinks to herself as her hands hovers over them as she begins to tap on the bolts

    "The third from the left, the fifth from the middle and the four last ones from the left again"

    With a soft buzz a hologram projector comes out of the wall, just a small stone jutting out, as a field appears, hiding her from public eyes and the dumpster begins to turn backwards, revealing how a staircase opens down into the ground, at the same time she activates a small button on her fashionable collar, and her clothes change, the top and pants turn into her long purple trenchcoat and striped legs, her belt becomes the three belts, while her shoes turn into the hardheeled shoes / skates, capable of changing back and forth however she wants. The pumpkin forms around her head and her two glaives appear on her hips. She giggles as she walks down the staircase into the underground tunnel before the dumpster goes down and the holographic projector goes into the wall again, revealing an empty and seemingly normal looking Alleyway.

    "The Hallow" Walks trough the underground passage, which leads up to a giant huge bronze coloured gate. The gate itself is made out of a advanced mixture of titanium, rougium and steel, making it capable to resist forces akin to nukelar blasts, while also being immune against magic and any sort of drills. She walks up to the gate and clearly announces

    "The Hallow is here to trade and bargain! Allow me access to the "Dark Market"!"

    The gate slowly rumbles as it opens, and The Hallow walks trough it. Behind can she see how the gates themselves are reinforced with straight bars of the same metal going into the ground as it closes, meaning that anyone trying to force the door open would have to push 2 meter long, 30 inches thick metal rods into solid stone. Hallow continues down the corridor to a path that splits into two. She knows that these underground tunnels are made to have multiple "market places" incase an intruder arrives. This whole system is quite the labyrinth, with about 50 diffrent marketplaces spread out trough the underground of the city, with multiple escape paths and secret passageways, but only one "real" entrance.

    She takes the first to the left, the second to the right, the third to the fifth to the left and the first on the right. Walks down five stairs, and three rights before she finally arrive to the almost legendary by now "Dark market".

    A large opening reveals a huge hall, bigger than a football field. By the entrance stands two men. a pair of hired supers, if she isn't wrong called "Ironhead". A tall man with an abbility to turn into solid steel and of course incredibly strong. The other called "Dreadfist" a pale brute albino man, with gigantic fists, seemingly made out of what looks like bone. Both wearing suits of course.

    Both of them glare at her but allows her to pass and she can finally walk into the Dark market. Looking around with curiosity, intregue and calm. She is around her kind. Gangsters, Villians and Crooks... she feels truly at home here.

    The hall is enormous, filled to the brim with stands, people and goods. Odd smells, everything from food, to strange drugs, to weird materials gather, creating a insane mixture. All kinds of "Villians" are here. She sees everything from small gangsters to the top of the villian totem pole. She smiles wider as she heads forwards, aiming for a specific stand that she really needs to visit.
