Oh man that was disgusting I need t- Lazarus began to hurl any remainin contents of his stomach into the river of sewage. Lazarus was going to need a lot of bleach for this. Beginning to wander his wander through the sewers as he went looking to the walls for mapos to get a sense of direction of where he was and needed to go to leave these sewers.

Checking his weapons and ammo he looked to make sure that none of them were clogged with sewage and were still in working condition he needed to make sure they would work when needed especially down here.

Serpent walked in the face of the homeless man, towering over him and staring him down. This riot should not be given a chance to escalate.
"Look at me. Look. At. Me." Serpent said to the man in a serious voice, pointing at his own face. "You start swinging pipes, you'll annoy me at best. I start swinging this-" Serpent brought the crackling electric tip near the mans' face. "-and your little anarchic episode will be very short. Without us some street cop could have been sent down here, and you would ALL be dead, including the cop. You're afraid, so are we but this is not the way to do this. I'm sorry about your friends, but this not the way to do this."

Rin saw that no customers are not getting lining up. She went to the back a spoke to the manager. "Hey Tom there are a mass of people outside making fun of women that could impede on business because others may think they are making fun of the business. Just letting you know so you can handle that I don't get paid enough to do that. I'm gonna go back to the counter do as you will Tom." Rin returned to the counter waiting for more customers to arrive to take there orders.

"Interesting, but I have to wonder why you choose me for this task. There cannot be a shortage of free agents in such a big city and I am not exactly know for my 'negotiation' skills nor very familiar with Novus. If I take the job, I would need more clarification about how to deal with them. Would you like to keep the so called authorities out of that or could I rely on them to do the hands on work? Another problem is that I am a little short on quipment at the moment, but this is the smallest hindrance."
At the last sentence he broke eye contact as if he was embarassed about that, but he used it to get a look out of the window and the rest of the car.
  5. "Oh I'm just the life of the party." Nightmare grinned a wide line of glowing crimson as he watched for a moment the glow of the burning area before turning around to walk down the tunnel to leave. He might not have gotten the annoying vigilante, but he felt like the message came across all the same. Don't fuck with him. "Come along, I'm sure there is much to discuss. Like introductions! I am Nightmare, pleasure to meet your acquaintance." he introduced himself to the xenomorph, letting him have the opportunity to tell him his name or alias too.

  6. As the creature knocked what remained of the cover aside, it took a look around it's surroundings. It was a downtrodden, miserable looking area of the city. But more importantly, sparsely populated with less security in comparison to the rest of Novus. Perfect for concealing the monster from those trying to hunt it down. From there it can reorientate itself to this new situation. The Crimson beast was nothing if not adaptable. "Ggggrrraagh!...Insolent...Wretches!" it muttered frustratingly to itself. Finding being driven from it's domain as a personal insult to it. "Due...time...end...them...End.Them.All...Gyhehha! GYHEHEHEHAHAHA!" It slinked on through the darker, less populated areas of the outskirts.

Finding a suitable hovel to hide itself for the time being, the sanguinary creature melted into a puddle of reddish colored liquid and moved on through an opened window. The silver locket slinking along with it as it continued to carry the small trinket. The action of carrying such an item seemed automatic and beyond it's means of control.

  7. They don't seem to get a break. From their perspective they stumbled upon dangerous monster unequipped, uninformed, unprepared in middle of search for disappeared persons. That they got away unharmed was small victory on itself. But from the victims perspective they simply failed. Argos looks at the people crowding around them. He understands them. He is required to. Psychology and mob-behavior were part of his training.

"Serpent." Argos places his hand gently on his partners hand, pushing it downwards while stepping between the forming mob and the law enforcers.

"Everyone, calm down. You are shocked, confused. You have witnessed a monster to attack your homes, your loved ones. It is natural that you seek someone to blame for it. But frontier justice or reprisal isn't the solution. Such actions are what cause tragedies such as this in first place. These monsters are not wild beasts. They are sapient, they understand their actions and yet still carry on. They are willingly turning their powers against you. If someone, they are to blame.

That is why we, WBSA, have arrived to the Novus. We are not here to serve and protect the people, that is and has always been responsibility of the police. Our purpose is to prevent further tragedies such as this to befall. The police can't protect the people and chase after these monsters on their own. We are not dogs, but gamekeepers hunting beasts threatening the flock.

We admit having been caught unprepared; our mission was to track down disappeared persons from above, we had no knowledge of your existence in here nor prior knowledge of the monster. Which is not just a mere mutant using its powers for harm. It is extremely dangerous and would have caused your all demise should we have not arrived to intervene it. It is blessing on its own that there are no further injures. Seeking to confront it on your own is foolish.

Police will arrive shortly to provide assistance and counseling should you require it. This will be treated as crime of first degree and justice will be brought to those fallen today. It will be brought by law. And only by law." Argos speaks with clear voice, with empathy and admonition. One could say it was too text-booky, lacking real emotion behind the words, but those with several diplomas on their walls have certified it to be effective.

Argos waits for the mobs reaction, standing before them. The situation is more complex than that, with several other rogue metahumans having appeared during the event, but it doesn't pertain them. He is also certain he heard some kind of explosive going off in the distance, meaning they are still around somewhere but he isn't going to address that until the mob has dispersed.

With the Homeless people starting to get rowdy around Serpent over the admittedly justified complaint they had let the monster get away and Argos attempting to keep the peace, Phoenix decided to not get involved with that given that her own inexperience would likely just make the whole thing go from bad to worse.
And besides, she might as well see if Argos' somewhat text-book speech does any good, or if they have to go and punch out a crowd of people who got violent.

Keeping that in mind, Ellyaina held back towards the rear of Argos and Serpent to be hopefully out of sight of the mob, with her hands hovering near the rubber-bullet loaded pistols should violence become the only option. She was hoping for the best case scenario of the potential disorder being peacefully averted, but preparing for the worst case scenario of a riot that had to be put out, albid non-lethally.
If it managed to come to that, thanks to mob behaviour, act of bad luck or anything along those lines.

"Nightmare..." Now that was a name that the Warden had heard of.. With that one word this whole debacle of a mission had become worth something. A savage grin formed beneath his helm as he watched this 'Nightmare' make introductions with the Xenomorph. This would make things more difficult, but the information he had gained would be beyond invaluable. "I know you fool." While just an alias, a lot of criminal acts were connected to it, and now he had a "face" connected to the myth.

Having gotten enough intel, and knowing fighting such a large group was mere suicide, the Warden made a hasty retreat back to the main area of the sewers, homeless gathering around the WBSA, quickly becoming the target of their ire, looking for someone to blame for the horrors they witnessed. It was a normal psychological response to such a traumatic event.

For a moment he considered intervening, especially when the reptile guy started threatening people. Yeah, police brutality. That always calms down a situation kid. He rolled his eyes slightly and prepared to step in when the apparent commander took charge, doing his best to calm the gathering mob. Which gave him a chance to gather evidence. He began searching along the outskirts of the mob, gathering any burnt flesh he could for examination later on. He would need to know what this was if he was going to kill it.

  10. Mirgona glances at this strange phenomenon but decided not to investigate at the moment. She has things to drive home and she prefer not to let her "loot" stand around in the open too long. She zips trough the city approaching the edge of the buildings. Soon she would be home and safe.
