The Jawa's idea of a bargaining chip hit Kin'aven in the gut like a sack of bricks hurled out of a cargo hold and somehow not combusting in the atmosphere before striking against her. She stared at the thermal detonator, the kind of weapon that could cause industrial degrees of damage, then the Jawa holding it. The face was concealed by the hood. She could see no bluff, no tension, just two ratty yellow eyes. Jaw tightening, lekku curling on themselves like pained serpents, the captain cast a look to her first mate (@Casavay). It was... hard to say what exactly was being relayed through the captain's expression or eyes, but they were firmly locked on her floral friend.

The Mandalorian looks over at the others for a moment before turning his gaze to the Caamasi.
"Seven hundred, and I'm in. If the others won't join, then I'll take their share." He stated - it was fairly easy to say that he was taking charge of the situation, and the group- given how the two pilots had tried backing out, there was little reason for them to be the ones in charge if they were so willing to flee jobs, in his eyes.
What was the point of such work if it had no risk? Such things deserve reward after all, and one who flees it wouldn't be worth staying with anyway.

Valrin glanced over at the serpentine figure that was just behind him, now stepping back one to be beside them. A peculiar... Species; not the oddest thing that the man had seen, but certainly was one of the more memorably bizarre ones. He didn't say anything to them though, merely nodding and turning his gaze back to the 'employer'.

The Jawa, of course, was very unnerving to him. Admittedly, he'd seen thermal dets before, and perhaps numerous times been on the recieving (or giving) end of thermal det threats. But that didn't lessen the tension of such a thing.
He'd reach over and pat at the Jawa's head if he could. "Just-- Put that away. If they don't keep their word, I'll help you find a place to put that that'll hurt them the most. But until then, put that away and keep it off."
Haar'chak, I value my damned life at least somewhat.

Now this was getting interesting. Varel smiled as half of the group started throwing angry glances at him and then smiled even more when the Jawa pulled out a termal detonator. Sowing chaos, confusion and creating mistrust, these were all powerful tools that he loved to use and the emotions created from these moments were the things he fed upon.

"I for one, accept your terms, it is why I'm here after all," he replied to Famhi, the pleading look in her eyes betrayed her thoughts, the knowledge safely stored in Varel's mind. "Although you'll have to pay the same amount to my droid over here," he said and nodded to B2, "He's the equal member of this group as well so I would allow no discrimination. Also, what Fritz said. If you want us to succeed we would need logistic help, meaning any explosives you have should go to the Jawa, he's our demolitions expert."

"Also Fritz, put that away, I'll handle this," Varel said but didn't look all that disturbed when he turned to face Kina, while completely ignoring what Zin said. "Dear Captain, your job was to transport us to the moon Dxun..." he said and made sure Famhi was also following for he then gestured to her and then to the sky above, "We have business there as well Famhi, it's only on need to know basis so once we are done with Onderon, I'm sure your cell will provide us the assistance to reach the moon."

Fluently jumping back into conversation with Kina he continued, "...and we are not there yet, meaning you still haven't completed your contract, the same one you were paid to do. Once that is over you are free to go wherever you want but until then, we are sticking with you, or maybe the better wording should be you are sticking with us. If you don't wish to do what Miss Famhi suggested, then I'm sure accommodations in her base will be adequate until we are back, after which you'll transport us to the moon and complete our bargain."

Hearing what Valrin said, Varel simply shrugged and turned back to the Caamasi. "Mandalorian is a free agent and not a member of "my" group, so you are dealing with him separately. Although if you give him more money I'll be sure to report it back to the High Command on how exactly are you treating loyal soldiers compared to other mercenaries..." there was a slight pause in his tone as his lips twisted from a smile into an ugly scowl, and then back into a smile, ""...of course, if the rest of us get equally compensated, I might forget the incident in my report..."

Naturally, the Mandalorian glanced back at the Zabrak rather quickly. While his face wasn't visible, daggers were very much felt on the poor man. Already, he could feel that this one was going to be a pain, and one that he might deal with sooner rather than later; since when were they a 'team'? Before they were scattered people, and as much as he'd ignored the Jawa before, he could tell that he was perhaps not part of any 'group', or it might have introduced itself as such.
"'Loyal' soldiers?" He scoffed, straightening himself. "I doubt 'loyal soldiers' blackmail one another, or turn away help. And you have the look of a scav, not any soldier. Let alone any training in your body." Valrin seethed - a small string of Mando'a being spoken that - should anyone understand the language - certainly was less than pleasant.
A thumb was tapped against his chestpiece. "I hate the Empire. I'm not going to let some idiot jeopardize it by declaring me a 'free agent'. I fight for my people, and if someone wants to leave, then I'll take their share to make the Empire hurt more. Simple as that."

"It is you who are asking for more, when these people have already given enough," Varel replied smoothly, leaning back in his seat, "I'm just making sure that Miss Fahmi is reminded of the fact that some of us have more at stake here than just credits, meaning that giving more value to mercenaries rather than patriots is a sure way to loose the sight of the just cause, a fact that will not go unnoticed even if one might hope so."

"Also, spare me your threats for they are hollow, if you were so mighty you wouldn't be here with us, bickering like a little child. If you hate the Empire and want to fight for his people, don't talk about it, do it. For the credits provided because if not, then your words mean less than nothing for you'll be nothing more than a scoundrel, trying to extort money from those who don't have it."

  6. "Fritz have 500 or so credits" Fritz piped up when the horned man mentioned those who don't have any credits, "oh! Fritz also have-" The Jawa cut himself off as he deactivated the detonator and rifled through his bag. "Blaster" he said pulling out his blaster and holding it out for display before pocketing it and rummaging through his back pack. "Rancky" he states pulling out a tiny Rancor Plushie that looked rather old and worn out, stitching was clearly coming loose, stuffing was sticking out in certain places, and one of it's button eyes were missing. Fritz sticks the beat up stuffed toy back into his back pack and pulled out a pair of detonators. "And Big booms" Fritz said as he held both of them in each hand, "one fake though, doesn't go boom, makes sounds and blinks colorful lights like real though. Fritz made it so." Fritz took a second to study the pair of detonators. It took a moment, but he came to a sudden realization. "Oh, that one was real thing. Ooooooooh" Fritz' head looked about the speeder. "Good thing Fritz not drop that. Otherwise, we not be talking much now. Explosion would have looked nice though."

B2 once more had its musings interrupted by its work as the Mandolorian began shouting and gesturing as he spoke to B2-81's employe. A prevention tactic to dissuade a fight was required if harm was to be kept from reaching the zabrak it seemed. The Battle droid's upper arm rotated to combat figuration so all it would take was simply lowering its arm to put a hole in the Mandolorian. B2 was also disappointed at the Jawa's level of high explosives . B2 couldnt dispose them with an "accident" as they had previously thought , unfortunate

When the jawa pulled out the thermal detonator, Rtora held his breath and ran several possible scenarios through in his mind how to quickly and safely dispose of a thermal detonator. When it at last was deactivated he relaxed and started breathing once more.
"Maybe if you marked them with tape, held them at different pockets or something so you wouldn't make the same mistake again in the future." Rtora suggested to Fritz, hoping the Jawa actually took said advice. @GobMaw_HellSmasha

After that, the other argument was taking place and in danger of creating rifts in their party. Also the battle droid started to be a tad more threatening with its wrist blaster flared up all kinds of warning signals in Rtora. He positioned himself next to Valrin, hand casually resting on his sword hilt. Mentally he prepared to slice the droid's wrist blaster if worse came to pass.
"Life is too precious to waste over this, friends. I may be young but please, let us work ourselves out of this mess first. Five hundred is fair with the additional equipment for reward."

Zin's capacity for calmness was by now overdrawn, and with the chaos that ensued when the Jawa piped in on everything and the Zabrak scumbag exchanged poison with that tincan, the scoundrel was at her utter limit. There was no good side to this.

Hissing an expletive, she clutched at the seat in front of her. Zin repeated herself, this time with a shout. "If you think you can trap us and just force us to do this, get bent! What in the name of the Shepherd are yiu thinking? Just smugly offering us some money as if you weren't forcing us inti dirty work?"

"And you guys... why in Kina's name aren't you protesting, huh? This is a damned scam! C'mon Kina!"

  10. A lot of the people in the speeder seemed to be on edge. The reasons why they would be escaped Fritz. Are they nervous about not getting paid? Is that really what they were concerned with? That thought didn't bother Fritz in the slightest.
"Why protest, green eyed lady? If true, Fritz get explosives, droids, and credits. If scam, Fritz always have this" He replied to the green eyed lady, pulling out the thermal detonator once more and arming it once more. Fritz was prepared this time and made sure he grabbed the right one this time. But Fritz realized not everyone would realize that, so to relieve them of said worries, Fritz looked at the snake man (@Wata ) holding his own hand out in reassurance. "It okay. Fritz make sure he grab real one on purpose this time." the little Jawa stated plainly. "Doesn't matter if this scam or not to Fritz. Either way, Fritz gets to blow something up. Which is always good to Fritz. So nothing to worry about. "
