"So, they are akin to greenskins in this regard?" He asked after a few moments. "Rather - in the sense that they grow in numbers at a tremendous rate. Would that mean your Imperium obsession with flames and plasma be a useful thing, then?" It didn't take too long before his eyes looked to the ales. Hm... He could drink. But, given his specialty as a Warp Spider, he decided against it. It was risky enough teleporting through the warp so often, even if for mere instances. And we don't need a drunk Warp Spider shambling about.
Jeb grumbled at the space marine downing an entire bottle of wine. He knew it would do nothing to him and that disciplining astartes is not in his jurisdiction but he still didn't like to see a soldier acting so callously in front of the command staff. But seeing he could do nothing he sat and grumbled to himself thinking pleasant thoughts of smashing things with his powerfist, which was currently in his quarters secured in a locked box along with the rest of his valuables. Throne he wanted to smash something right now. Hearing the xenos leader talk and ask a question Jeb figured he may as well try to return their own attempts at easing tensions. "I have fought them a few times in my career on worlds whose names I have long forgotten and it is as Godric says. Their numbers are inexhaustible and their minds cannot even comprehend fear. They are but animals with a single desire, to consume all in their path." Jeb said accidentally becoming grim as he spoke. Maybe he was too used to scaring guardsmen back into line for him to be very hospitable. He brought the glass of water to his lips again feeling no need to consume alcohol seeing as he was the one in charge of discipline among the troops he should adhere to his own rhetoric.
As Jeb spoke, the Eldar immediately turned his attention towards him. He wasn't so much focused on the man, but - well. All these humans fascinated Aderis! "Then I suppose our primary focus shall be in getting to our objective as quick as possible then, yes? If these monstrosities are as much a threat as you say, we would not wish to waste any unnecessary resources or manpower on them: if we need, I shall see to scouting ahead and finding any positions that are worth fortifying, for your Guardsmen, along the way." A few seconds passed, before the Warp Spider's heavy armour gave a small shrug. "If we need a fallback point, it's better than falling to a tight ravine."
"I have fought agaisnt these type of creatures once but not like the ones Jedediah has fought, These ones were able to infiltrate a hive and somehow brought humans under there control and even spawn some type of abominatiable hybrids along with a type of creature that was able to sneak around and rip through armor like it was a chains word against bare flesh." Milinda said as she poured herself some wine before taking a sip. "It was bad enough even some PDF were infiltrated by those damned creatures" Milinda said.
Soon enough, the talk changed to tactics"Planning is all well and good, but to make a concrete plan without similarly concrete knowledge is foolhardy at best, fatal folly at worst. As well, we are weeks away" he shrugged his shoulders. "Don't get too embroiled in war-speak when the war is far." something he learned time ago, before he even became a warrior of Kanduras
Alton sighed and looked around. " I to have fought this foe once before on a world lost. There are kinds that have minds for the rest. Kill thise for small reprieves. But mistake not these bugs may not be the only problem on a barren world. Where worlds are destroyed scavengers and rogues follow. The bugs have no interest in the dead just the ability to fees but other species not so. The Eldar there speaks wisely. We need intel and recent intel at that. " His voice was percise and had a mechanical edge to it. He spoke only what he knew and only what was needed. When he was done he looked like he never did speak.
"Well. I would try to socialize, however I have no idea of~.. Human customs." He said. The way the word 'human' rolled off his tongue made it clear that it was foreign to him - while the emphasis wasn't meant in a rude way, he most certainly had not used it much. He clearly showed no ill will to these people: they were good hosts, and seem more than willing to help them! Why would he be suspicious? This was the perfect time to kill them all and yet, here they are discussing how to cooperate. Perhaps his kin's hatred for these primitives was misplaced... Justified in some cases he knew. They attacked the Eldar on numerous occasions. But, misplaced.
"Yes and I have no idea of.... Eldar customs." Jeb said refraining from calling them xenos for the sake of politeness. Under normal circumstances he would never offer such pleasantries to xenos filth but quite frankly if they were going to be working together than being polite to them can go a long way as they were clearly attempting to do towards the other imperials. He was quickly wanting to partake in the wine but restrained himself knowing that he can be quite... unreasonable if he had too much.
The Eldar merely smiled at the man now, deciding to nod his head. "We shall see about learning of one another then, yes?" Surprisingly cheerful!
"Who knows not of Malan'tai, a world remembered only in requiem, dirge, and cautionary tale. The culture eradicated, consumed by the Great Devourer. Many words have been written about this tragedy, and it comes not close to being enough to properly describe the horror." Tan'seren lowered her head in respect. "I have not fought it, but I know more than one tale about the fearsomeness, and utter alienness of the Devourer. May Khaine guide our blades when we meet them." She watched the Astartes drink, unfamiliar with this breed but having met their kind. The smell of sweet fermentation was in her nose, and promised to linger. But while his rapid consumption of this beverage might have been distasteful, the Eldar would not mind provided he was as much of a champion as his kin. (@Vlayden ) "Be unafraid, Aderin", the Pathfinder spoke, almost mirthful in contrast to her darker tone just seconds ago, "I firmly believe that just speaking is the first stone of this bridge." Grabbing a glass carafe of water and filling up her wine glass with in, Tan'seren offered the Aspect Warrior a smile. "You are talking already, which is more than can be said for many."
