Milinda was sat at the side of Jedediah her own mace on her robes belt and her other weapons excluding her shield were put away and her shield was beside her chair, She had made sure to dress in robe of the imperial cult and had little to no decorations beaside bearing a aquillia, her hair was let down and she had little to no make up on showed some signs of ages from the priestess.

Milinda's eyes gazed over the the xenos who had they would be accompanying, her thoughts many but no questions were made on what she needed to do was to keep the others faiths strong while on this mission.

"Interesting then so it is likely a dead world we are heading to?" Milinda asked as she began taking a sip of water, "If this world did fall to the Tyranids we can only pray that the emporer guides and protect us on this mission and that the Vile forces of the devourer have either passed or been destroyed." Milinda said ending her silence.

Telith Aqusthious hadn't been paying all that much attention at first, food going down without too much complaining about it's relative blandness for the sake of politeness, nor to the various introductions going around between Mon'Keigh and fellow Eldar, wishing instead that she could be elsewhere, like inspecting the ships's systems and making sure they were up to her standards, even if the humans who normally maintained such devices might have to deal with her sharing their workspace.

However, it was when all the others had introduced themselves that the Artisan had realised that she hadn't introduced herself to the group, so she said, evidently surprised she had forgotten "And before I forget my introduction, I am Telith, Artisan." Obviously, that was to avoid having to rely upon having more cruder and easier to mistake names like "Pointy Ears" which were hardly the sort of names one wanted to hear when time and precise address were of the essence.

Meanwhile, with the Farseer and presumably the human's equivalent in terms of leadership seemed to be keeping things civil between the two parties, the Artisan made sure that her devices used in her work were readily on show just so that there was nothing wrong with her attire like unseemly bulges that could arouse suspicion of what she kept on her person, as paranoia at the dinner table was not a very good atmosphere to maintain if both sides needed to work together.
  3. "I see." Jeb said after the explanation his face not moving from it's neutral mood. So they were going to a dead world to find an artifact that he didn't give a grox's ass about while possibly fighting the remnants of a tyranid invasion. Not bad really and with all things considered it sounded somewhat pleasant even if he did have to work with xenos. He surveyed the group of xenos at the table, each of them seemed to have a different specialization with some of them introducing themselves. They didn't appear to be a command staff like what Lady Belisarius had assembled in the hall but then again he didn't bother learning much about the xenos cur in his spare time besides learning of ways to kill them in various ways and insults to yell during battle. He brought the glass of water to his lips again taking in the simple liquid. Holy Emperor why must he do something like this that bordered on heresy so late in his career?

Alton tried a friendly smile that came more like a weird grimace. He may not have emotion surpression surgery but he did live with people who had and a society that frowns on emotions. But he tried anyways for the wishes of his current Magos replacement. His ambiguous emotions about Xenos was one of the reasons him and his squad was choosen to accompany the Navigator House. He took one step forward and looked at his Beta that was in the room. " Beta, take charge. Wolfblade and myself will be occupied so Protection Zeta. " And like a thought the Beta and three othwr Skitarii in perfect unison marched and took places around the Navigator House leader. These Skitarii some anyways had more obvious bionics. " Watch and observe. " This was a calculated move to show the Eldar and the Navigator that the Mechanicus are both Highly trained and efficient. This would be both good for the mission and more so if the Eldar turned treacherous. His own bionic eye watched the Eldar for reactions and for anymore samples of information. Oddly none of the skitarii were not armed with traditional Mechanicus armaments but that was so tech doesn't fall into the hands of xenos. Bolters and swords were common.

The Warp Spider was indeed, surprisingly quiet - as were the others it seems, of his kin. He was not so much one for solitude or keeping himself away from the 'lesser beings' as some may call the humans, but he was...

Well. How do you talk to these Mon'keigh? He had been fighting them for many centuries, even if not on full-on wars, in skirmishes. He knew of how they acted, how their zealousness helped them press forward in the darkest of moments, how their rugged weapons were stupidly bland and yet somehow functional. But, he had no idea on how to talk to one of their kin.

So, he did little more than politely stare, and smile.
Maybe nod, too, if one looked to him - even if he most probably got grimaces and dirty looks from the Imperium, he wished to at least show he was willing to make nice.
-- Ooh, that Eagle-skull-thing looked quite marvelous... An aquila? Aderis was sure that's what they called it. Such an odd name!

Godric stepped forward after the skitarii took positions around Lady Belisarius and grabbed a bottle of wine. "If this is a dead world caused by the nids I foresee some remaining. Let us cleanse this world of this menace while you retrieve whatever it is you want." He raised the wine bottle to the assembled elements from both sides, before downing the entire bottle. Almost as quickly as he drank it his biology broke it down, how he wished for something he could actually enjoy. "Drink well, once the fighting starts we will not have a chance until we celebrate the success of this mission." Even if this was to benefit the Eldar it also could protect more Imperial worlds from the remnants of a hive fleet.

"The~ Tyranids... These are the insectoids, yes? The Great Dark that stains the Warp?" The Eldar asked now, his face scrunching with mild confusion. He had heard of them, but. Well...
Perhaps it's best to be sure, so he did not mentally prepare for something else.
"Actually -- what is the purpose of your men drinking? Before a battle, that is. Is this an Imperial custom, to imbibe spirits and fight intoxicated?" Was his next question, his voice shying a bit at the last few words. He realized how oblivious he must sound - though, in all honesty he never did see what it was about! Why would you drink before a battle? Wouldn't this leave you in a worse condition than before??

Or, is this truly not alcohol?!
These Imperial Mon'keigh are so confusing, Aderis knew...

    Farseer Naeryndas Blackstar
"It seems we find common ground in our enemy?" The Farseer stated to give his group and the humans a slight nudge to talk more openly. "Has anyone of you faced them yet? Or only heard mere tale? I myself have yet to see one of them, but one of my far distant relatives died on Iyanden when they broke through the webway, now he serves as a Wraithblade, even in death, he still fights." It was a sad tale, but melancholy could perhaps bring forth empathy. And with empathy - understanding or bonding. If the several century-old seer knew one thing, then it was the fact that everyone lost something or someone in life.

"Also, my fair spider. We won't be anywhere near the world until in one, perhaps two weeks. We are not travelling the webway, after all." Naeryndas smiled at the eager Aderis, being faintly reminded of his younger years as a curious warlock.

  9. Vorin looked around the room with a slightly raised eyebrow. Shows of power? True, in any other case they might be proven enemies, yet.. unless most humans didn't place much value on oaths. Nevertheless, he moved around the table, sampling various foods and even taking a swig of a drink. Still rather weak, yet - "I must agree, compliments to whatever artisans made this"

Then, the speaking turned a bit dark. His eyes fell a moment, and he grabbed a stuffed roll of cured meat and popped it also in his mouth. "I've not yet fought them. However.. I did come face-to-face with one. Once, in my younger years." rather than spill all his memories out at once, Vorin played with his helmet, laid upon the table. They were to foster trust. Yet Vorin trusted none of them enough. Not for this. Not yet.

Looking to the one who spoke first, "Yes the giant bugs, and this" he held the now empty bottle up, "a wolf pup could drink this and not feel it. But such is the way of my brothers. Now a Fenesian Ale would knock you down for the duration of our travels!" He gave a hearty laugh showing his enlarged canines.

Placing the bottle back on the table he turned to their Farseer. "Yes I have faced them, and I too have lost battle brothers to the tyranids. They are a fearsome foe that swell in numbers, and much like the greenskins show little to no fear... As long as the snakes head still breathes." He looked to all those assembled once more, "This threat is not one to take lightly as some of you may be aware."

With a toothy grin he turned back to the warp spider, "And we drink now to bond before battle." He looked to the Imperials that surrounded their end of the table. "My enemies enemy is my friend. This threat could easily threaten Imperial worlds. We must crush it before it can endanger Imperial lives." He was not thrilled about the alliance but if it meant he could take the fight to the enemy he would gladly take it.
