Territory, High Command And Faction Differences (word Wall Contained Within)

    • Hexbased Map.
    • Supplielines must connect to provide bonuses
    and so on.

    Yeah, I regret not sticking a tl:dr at the top of my first post and then the word wall. If I decide to do another thread like this I'll make sure not to make that mistake again.

    They want player input, they get 2 line responses and they get 2 post walls. It's also a system that hasn't really gotten any major debate, which usually implies people who read it are indifferent or supportive of it.
  5. From what I've heard.

    Bases have a hierarchy: Outpost, Stronghold, Fortress.
    There will be different kinds of bases: Unit, Hero, Vehicle, RP etc. That are spread far apart so its harder to get everything together. You would normally have all 4 in the same base on PS2
    The distance between bases (from what I recall) is at least 500m, further for different kinds of bases.
    Multiple capture points for different bases.
    Bases have a power supply that can be destroyed or taken by an enemy.
    They will have AI defenders (still in works).

    As for territory control, I only know that specific bases give resources, there will be RP for vehicles/heroes and RTP for personal gear. All come from captured Resource bases.
    Bases can be captured without being connected, but to get RP they need to be (<-- in discussion) and there maybe RP transports, convoys etc, that need to be protected to get Rp. (Still in works).

  7. Just memories from alot of posts, old videos/interviews and player chat.
    The 500m base distance and RP stuff was from something Steven said a while back, I remember it because he was talking about the continent size.
    Multiple cap points for bases is indicated by the recent gameplay footage, this may change though.
    AI defenders is being talked about alot, we dont know if they will be at launch or after, may never come, but the devs are thinking about it.

    Look up some of the interviews Miguel did, there are a few threads about these subjects somewhere, they are all quite old now.

    I don't remember discussing distances between bases, the number caps per base or ai defenders. I gave a very broad over-view, a focus on the 'meta' of the factions and continents. The only thing you mentioned that I actually covered was requisition income and base 'types'.

    Repetition doesnt hurt because each time someone "reinvents" the ideas theyre a lil bit different, a twist that the devs probably havnt hought of and will add to the game. Sure, point at whats been repeated but praise whats new. Good work Trovanus/ abize, keep going, not many ppl think this deep and explane it more in detail.
