Are forgeworld things in the WH40K Universe? If yes then we can include them. Though I don't know if there's any legal paperwork involved with forgeworld stuff.

    8) What WH40K Table-Top rules can be used in EC as actual rules or guidelines for game mechanics as opposed to which FPS mechanics would apply in certain circumstances? (relating thread with examples of what the question is talking about:http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/tt-rules-or-fps-mechanics-what-works-best-in-ec.34058/)
BRENT ELLISON: Eternal Crusade is NOT based on the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game – like most 40k video games (including the Dawn of War series and Space Marine) it’s based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Although most of us are players of the tabletop, we’re not trying to implement any of the rules from there. Sometimes we’ll be inspired by tabletop rules that aren’t related to the lore (such as stat names or class categories), and of course we want to have things like “perils in the warp”, but I can’t think of any mechanics that are being lifted directly from the tabletop rather than the setting.

That said, all our desks are covered in codices and we frequently reference the tabletop rules as a way of understanding how different weapons/items/vehicles are meant to be deployed in the 40k universe. For example, I’ll often look up something like “what’s the range of a reaper autocannon vs a heavy bolter” to get an idea on its intended tactical application, and that will inform its role in our game."

Can already see this in the fact CSM Havocs have access to Plasma Cannons in EC which can also tie into the points of creative freedoms they have, to what extent remains to be seen (here question 4 & here question 11). Warhammer 40K universe + CSM aren't strangers to looting + Dev creativity can bring more landraider stuff for CSM similar & different to their loyalist counterparts.

Now, I didn't mean to spark a vehicle discussion in a terminator thread so I created a vehicle discussion thread here, Vehicle Discusion & Ideas Thread.

    Yes, very true.

Back on topic. I'm very much looking forward to stepping out of a Wave Serpent as a Wraithblade and wrecking some face. :)

    Especially some Terminator face. :p

You could use Terminator Armour or Dreadnoughts for example in the same vein as Titanfall.

The rarity of such items in the Lore meaning that you have a timer before you can successfully requisition one.

I wouldn't however put this on hard earned Artificer Armour if for example its a coveted "Purple" loot item.

Another idea is that you could issue the FACTION with a limited number of suits for the war effort and more can be earned in the following ways:

    1. Horde battles + boss battles discovering new pieces. Once found you can construct them.
    2. If you kill an enemy player in the armour you can steal it (Not for THAT match) for the war effort and it gets refurbished. Its added the faction stores
    3. Capturing certain Meta map areas allow faster construction to certain pieces of equipment.

Another idea is that beings that only the veterans and honoured get such armour is to make it unlockable by performing daily and weekly tasks to get titles and battle honours.

I know its a little thin but its just some ideas to possibly flesh out.

I think I'd be more interested in someone playing a Commander Role (like early BFs) - where they could distribute something like Teminator armor strategically to the field. Rather than people randomly earning Teminator equivalency in the middle of combat.

If it were anything like Titanfall you'd sometimes end up with weird convergences were everyone calls in their titanfalls around the same time - and suddenly the entire map is Teminator equivalents - cool though it would be: it wouldn't make sense for w40k. So people can't just individually earn it on a personal timer.

    It could make a lot of sense for Iyanden and Dark angels tbh;
I'm fine-ish with personal cooldowns, gated by a faction-resource pool system thingy.
Faction resource pool thingy: or, personal resources, but the more people play your faction, the slower your "hero/elite/vehicle" resources refill. You still have a cooldown on stuff, and this too could be effected. The role of the cooldown is to 'encourage' you to have some variety in your gameplay.

Worth noting that in early editions of space hulk (deathwing expansion), Terminator Captains came with a grenade launcher built into their melee weapon hand. Stormbolter, Power Sword and grenade launcher, and if i recall correctly +2 Combat skill and +2 AP.

And Space Hulk is the grand daddy of Terminator lore :)

Not sure if its been asked but is there any discussion about tiers of TEQ? My Avatar for instance is a DA Knight which in reality is just an assault terminator but with better/different load-out options.
  10. Galen Galen Arkhona Vanguard

DW knights are not just assault TDAs with better equipment !The warrior inside is among the best of the best!
So imo a DW knight would be better as a hero class unique to the DA than just a skin or any other way of implementing them!
