Terminator Armour

  1. Also if you give players a toy they will abuse it to the best of their ability.

    Base and urban battles will literally just be EVERYONE spamming Terminators.

    To what extent do you take this standpoint? "I can't be a Dreadnought, so I quit."? "I can't be an Avatar of Khaine, so I quit."? "I can't be Imperial Guard, so I quit."? For the sake of a better game and lore coherence, I'm happy never to be entombed in a Dreadnought. Ever.

    Unless, of course, they are balanced with the other classes. Assault marines can move quicker around walls and obstacles, tacticals have a wider variation of equipment, devestators have more mobility and a smaller silhouette.

    On the basis of it being available and getting told to piss off because you aren't good enough to use it. If they are not in the game then fine, but people here want to special snowflake a lot of things and it just gets silly.
  5. Yeah but the entire purpose was that Assault Marines are meant to help break open the defense especially in a walled environment. Tac Marines having teleporter beacons would be pointless.
  6. Since this seems to be a big worry to people, here is a list of a more than a few very effective counters to Terminator armor;
    Eldar
    Wraithblades + Wraithguard
    Fire Dragons
    Fire Prism
    Lance Weapons of all kinds
    Orks
    Zap Gun
    Rokkits
    Power Klaw
    Chaos/Imperial
    Meltagun/Multi-melta
    Lascannon
    Missile Launcher
    Plasma weapons
    Power Fist/Axe
    Chainfist
    Demolisher Cannon
    Assault Cannon
    Autocannon

    Thats not everything. just the ones i can think of from memory. They are not invincible by any means.

    I'd just rather see an effort made to break into a base other then a jump and drop, if they place on a roof where no one but fliers can reach then it becomes stupid.
  8. Assault Marines would be stuck with plinking pistol shots down on people at that point though. They don't have access to heavy guns. very wasteful use of a jump pack if u ask me. plus, we don't know to what extent air units will be involved, but it wouldn't be difficult to take down assault marines if there is some decent flyers available.

    Well by flyers I mean jump classes, if the assault marine drops a homing beacon where no one else can get to and his allies port in from there, then it becomes a never-ending shooting gallery.
  10. If Behavior allow Assault Marines to take a Teleport Homer, the least of our worries will game balance. They don't even have access to such gear. Only scouts and high ranking commanders can ever carry those. not even Tactical marines carry those, so i hope it is restricted to a scout, or a Commander only. it makes no sense to let Jump Infantry carry those.
