A lot of people here dont think about game design, only about fluff.

    Which is a shame.

There really cant be caps on such things that mean that you cant have something because others already have them. Its very bad design if there is nothing you can do to influence it

99% of the people don't thin about game design (performance mostly) i don't think most of the people in this forums are gamers.

My suggestion for how to make termie armour rare.

First of all, like I have always said, high resource cost and long cooldown to ensure that people who have unlocked them wont spam them. Also, if the termies use same resource as vehicles, in strike forces, there will probably be dedicated terminators.
Secondly, have there be certain achievements one has to do before getting rights to use terminator armour.
For example, kill x amount of orks, chaos, tyranids and eldars. Also kill some more powerful tyranids, like Carnifexes, heard they were going to be in game.

They you should also spend whatever xp/ unlocking system currency there will be on actually unlocking the armour.

THAT should ensure not everyone gets termie armor, but that everyone has a chance to get one. Fair for everyone.
  4. I would disagree,

If you want a good Warhammer 40k game you need to think about fluff otherwise it's not a 40k game.

Since the newest newsletter we can assume it's going to be special class.... Since there will be Chaos Terminator ^^

But what fluff do you use?
Everyone knows that the stories are exaggerated "for dramatic effect".
The TT rules are vague and designed for a small/large number of units controlled by one person.
The RPG is a good reference to go by but designed more for small squads.
Even all of the computer games have had Fluff of their own.

I kind of see EC using all of these as reference, and doing their own thing.
Nergal and Urian Velos like this.

The point is to have the most powerful weapons and armor availiable for those who actually invest time in the game. Much like only Hardcore Raiders (or No-Lifers, depending on whom you ask) will get the fattest loot in MMORPGs, albeit with a small difference: In EC the community will decide who gets to be Strike Force Leader or War Councillor, so Termi armor kinda would be a big "thank you, you rock" by your peers. Naturally, this comes with its own problems - god help us if certain NoobTube LetsPlayers ever get their hands on this game.

I disagree, termi armour should not be a popularity contest, maybe if there are events in the game (we know anything about special events during campaign?) you can give a termi armour to each strike leader and his personal guard during the whole event instead of X amounts of deaths or w/e.

Being exclusionary is definitely not what this game should be. Rewarding people for sinking their lives into this game is not going to promote "Seriousness" or "Maturity" and remember, Trolls will still be trolls.. Why would you take the ONE aspect of MMO's that the majority of the people are turned off by.

Also, why in the world would strike leaders get anything special, besides some ornaments? I do agree that perhaps people WITHIN his/her own strike force could "decide" to gift certain people within their group with items/weapons/armor, but anything that is to focused on the serial players isn't going to end nicely.

Jesus Christ. It would be a nightmare if some Youtuber solicited this game.

Working these things out is a real bind.
