Awesome idea - not to link it to the character progression, but to the role in Strike Force. This would automatically limit number of Terminators in game. Obvious exploit though: artificially inflating numbers using alts in order to get access to these items.

I see your point, and would even add another problem: Factions with more players would automatically get many times the number of Terminators or Terminator equivalents than those with less players as a result of the direct connection between Strike Force leaders and the armor.
  3. Honestly I would just implement them as expendable assets either

    A. Make them a one use item that you lose on death and are expensive enough to warrant only being used when absolutely necessary

    B. Make them similar to MAX Suits in Planetside 2 but with a MUCH longer CD.
  4. I guess the thing to do is have guild requisition points. When a guild has enough points then they can buy big consumables like tanks or terminator armor.

I feel it should be there for those who have performed a sufficient amount of heroic deeds (earning your Crux Terminatus so to say) and once earned, should be paid for using requisition. It can then be worn for a limited amount of time or for the duration of an operation. This can be either a time limit, which may depend on the amount spent for equipping it or say that when you are fighting Tyranids, it can be deployed throughout a PvE arena.

Letting guilds hand them out may have some merit, but you run the risk that certain players will feel left out. Players who prefer to play solo or are less active than other ones run the risk of never being able to equip it and that could be disheartening.

I don't know how requisition will be handled, but if a guild and an individual have separate pools (maybe individuals should grant a part of their own pool to a guild), this problem can be overcome.

Some of you dont seem to be able to understand that this is not real life, but a video game.

Making the terminators available for only 400 players out of, lets say, 100 000 doesnt sound wrong to you at all? Not in the slightest?

Best option to make them rarer, high resource cost and a long cooldown once you go down.
Some economics are confirmed to be in the game, some resource pool. Same resource pool for tanks, terminators, other special chars that may be in, e.g librarians and you have solved your balance problem.

making them available only to a select few is a surefire way to ruin the game. This will not be a game only for the most hardcore TT players. Never was intended to be, never will be.

Think realistically for a moment, people.

  8. Sounds better than having thousands of them to me. MUCH better.

Yeah this has been suggested and seems to be the most viable way but the cost, rarity and cooldown has to be long enough that we won't be commonly seeing them.

I say make it unlock able via character progression. But make it cost a good amount of requisition so as not to be spammable. Then they get to use it until they die in said suit. Then they have to buy it again if they want to use it again..

So realistically, 1 out of 100 battles would have maybe a few terminators?
    That sounds ridiculously bad.
Do remember that it is a game, and games need to be fun and not unfair to 99% of the playerbase.

Limit them with resource costs and cooldowns, once a certain chars has unlocked them with character progression. They should be available to everyone.
