i could get behind that for non eldar units of course that would add an element of unpredictability to the mechanic. However I wouldn't expect to see a warp spider bodge a teleport and end up falling off a cliff to his death so I dont know how the above mechanic could work for them if they are in the game.

Well, that could definitely fall under *deep strike mishaps*. I'm all for teleportation through objects; Imagine THOSE Eldar tactics of whole squads "ignoring" a defender's walls, risking a high chance of death if they couldn't make the jump with the notion that if you get's stuck inside any object when you land the jump, you die instantly.
    Avatos likes this.

the point is that "SM" chapter isnt really adeptus astartes its inquisition and and they arent part of the faction we will get to play in EC (at launch at least) so there is no reason for marines jumping like warpspiders.
  4. Teleporters shouldn't be allowed in Eternal Crusade beyond deployment and extraction to and from the battlefield. Anything more than that is unnecessary gameplay mechanics that would require even more work than the developers are currently putting in. If anything, it should be something they add after the game is finished with other races.

The main reason is that teleporters in general are unreliable and unstable due to the physics they use in order to translate one physical entity around the area. The longer the distance and the more objects between you and it, the greater the chance the teleportation will lodge you somewhere else and majority of the time, it isn't going to be pretty. Only the Eldar and Daemons have relatively accurate and frequent teleportation technology. We all know why for Daemons and Eldars technology isn't entirely infallible because it still has issues over longer distances. Teleportation technology for the Imperium is extremely unreliable and prone to misfiring in which you land somewhere between you and the target and not always in one piece in addition to it being extremely rare. Even Astartes are lucky to have them and they require clean line of sight in the best of conditions making it even more unreliable in a combat situation without a homing beacon to lock onto. Orks are completely random because their technology is scrap cobble and prone to breaking at a moments notice or doing something entirely different.

All in all, it's better not even worrying about it and keeping it out of the loop until we have solid gameplay evidence and statistics to go off of.
