You know, if I was thinking harder I would have gotten that... But Obliterators aren't TDA's. Not officially anyway. They are a conglomerate of relic armor and an awesome array of weapons held together by warp stuff. Sort of a Swiss Army Knife the size of a small tank. On the TT, they are essentially Centurions before Centurions were a thing.
Ah, good times. In any case, I feel that teleportation should be a rare thing, something you will not see often on the battlefield unless in the form of highly specialized units (to be more precise: Warp Spiders). On the other hand, I would fully endorse teleportation stations that could serve as a waypoint system across the map.
i know what units GK have thanks but i was reffering to the part of your post suggesting that GK are space marines....
The Grey Knights are a Space Marines Chapter and the Chamber Militant for the Ordo Malleus. The Chapter specialises in the hunting and extermination of Chaos daemons. they kinda are
my point is a space marine chapter uses teleporters regularly meaning the imperium can use them it wouldnt break canon to have teleporter packs for special units.
And back from GK to teleportation: I like the way GW2 thieves do it: there is no such BS like "moving your ghost image towards the point you'd like to teleport to with incredible speed" (no offence), it is just "you press the button"=>"you are instantly about <insert your favorite number> meters ahead". Maybe with awesome warp-colored effect. Maybe with kinda delay. But just as simple as that. IMHO of course.
how do you determine the distance in GW2 if you dont mind me asking. I can see trying to teleport a precise distance as a warp spider in a hectic battle being...difficult at best.
Nobody talks about precise teleportation: as it was stated above, precise one doesn't exist in 40k (except 4 eldars, of course). About distance - i'm thinking about some kind of system that teleports you to the place your crosshair points at, up to, just for example, 50 meters.
