Squad first and foremost. It all starts with your immediate team mates and squad cohesion. This does not imply that lone wolves cant be of great service to the faction as a whole, but the bulk of fighting, the bulk of territory taken, the bulk of enemy kills will be based foremost on squad team work. That's my two rupee anyway.
Teamplay to me is to fill my role and keep an open mind an connection to my leaders. If I am a grunt then I will do what is required of me from a faction standpoint. There is no point in bitching about missions and orders if they are aimed to win the total sum of the campaign. If my faction stands atop that hill with our banner high in the end then I have won; how much progression or gear I acquire on the way comes second to victory. If I happen to be a squad leader then there will be constant communication and planing, scouting missions to assess the situation and the enemies strenght; no running blind into ambushes or throwing lives away at an outpost without the right equipment and proper squad communication, both in my own and with squads one is working along with at the time. At the same time, if I come across squads which are just douchebags looking out for themselves then I'll take a stand and let them make it on their own; no point in throwing away good soldiers for others who only care for themselves. Sadly, I think a lot of people will just treat the game as an all out fps and bumrush whichever enemy they come across. In my opinion EC is a strategical game all the way and planning will be the key to win the day. Anywho, it's mostly rambling but I just wanted to get my opinion out; hopefully someone agrees with at least half of it, and for those who might take offense [since it's the internet] I apologize- it's not my intention to be rude [.... slightly drunk....]
Team play to me is in two parts. 1st - social and enjoyable, playing with like minded people, in CS we would fight any clan and not refuse to fight - something that is sadly lacking in most pvp games as people do not like to die or fight bigger numbers. 2nd - Competitive, assisting on targets, putting down fire to bottleneck and restrict other team. All down to discipline and following orders. I need to both to continue with a game
Team play : a) collective play with mutual assistance of team members<skillful team play in hockey> b) cooperative effort <need for team play in time of war — Christopher La Farge> Team play means just that; cooperation with your squadmates, and by extension, with the rest of your faction. It means putting the needs of the many (winning) before your own needs (having a high KDR/SPM for example). Not that you can't do both, of course. And, sometimes, having fun with your fellow soldiers doing stupid things.
Yes, that is what I meant with the time stamp against actions. As long as you did something that qualifies and you did it within the time window, then you get a share. Even if, as you say, you did nothing for the last minute.
Well, I mean to join a guild for playing the game, as I can imagine the title will be more rewarding and funny when playing with coordinated allies. however, I do believe I will make friends in my guild, with whom stick together in a single squad. I am not against random guys who want to join my squad, even if they don't communicate. obviously i would be the first who wants to kick these guys out of our team, if they are intentionally TKing continuosly, don't support the teammates ("I SAID I NEED AMMO!!!"), or don't follow the rest of the squad when there is an important target and ignore even repeated pinging by the squad leader. in the end, I wish to find a cohesive group where I can have fun while smakcking a bunch of panzies
Hey, Imperial Guardsman here. I have known more acquaintances than I care to share, but maybe just once I would like to have a squad to call my own that won't get turned into Ork shit. It's so mentally taxing, and I hate digging for their dog tags when they are still halfway up a Boyz ass. You'd THINK! I mean you'd THINK that as much as they like shinny bits and bobs that they wouldn't just eat them without at least looking at it!
